Why would you purchase a non-refundable ticket and then expect it to become "refundable" because you did not effectively communicate with the passenger you were buying the ticket for about her flight preferences?
Best of luck jousting this windmill

Southwest pretty much exclusively utilizes Terminal C at Atlanta for domestic flights, I can't say how far between gates you will have to walk but you won't have to get on the inter-terminal train, also as noted above they will only sell you a connecting flight if they believe you and your baggage can make the connection.

Is it Safe? That's a good question, You can check a cardboard box, but what are the contents? What are the dimensions of the box? Is it fragile?
It really depends on the specifics of the "box"

Southwest Vacations is the leisure vacation package product for Southwest Airlines and is operated by ALG Vacations Corp. ALG Vacations Corp. is headquartered in Newtown Square, PA and has offices throughout the country including Milwaukee, WI where the Southwest Vacations marketing offices are located.
I don't know the exact relationship between the 2 companies, but ALG Vacations is part of Apple Leisure Group. Not Southwest

Perhaps the "no greater harassment" ever was that rather than a full 12oz can of Coca Cola a small plastic cup of Coca Cola was delivered? I mean a long time and frequent flyer of SWA would know they deliver drinks with ice in plastic cups as a standard practice.
I've got nothing?

Wow, you should contact SWA customer service via the link at the bottom of the page, this is community discussion page not customer service.
I must ask why you would fly Southwest if you detest them so much since 2013? They are one of many airlines that fly to Dallas from Buffalo, some even non-stop including Frontier and American to name just two.
Safe travels in the future.

KC's current terminal is a very "shallow" semi circle so there aren't long walk ways to get to the gates, they are literally on the other side of the wall from security. If you're not checking baggage make sure to have your boarding pass in hand and go directly to security, the TSA pre line is on the right side of the terminal, 1 1/2 hours is more than adequate, regular security is in the middle of the semi circle.
If your checking baggage and not an A-lister allow 2 hours for sure, the check-in area for SWA is tight and the lines get long quickly, then you still have to go through security.
Once the new terminal is built in KC this will all change.

Unfortunately Chase is really the entity that your beef is with. The best strategy to get what you signed up for is to refer to what ever electronic trail you created in the sign up process. Promotional Email you responded to maybe? Confirmation email you received on signing up? Documents that arrived with your cards? basically every scrap of communication you have.
Beyond that I don't believe you have much to go to Southwest directly with to appeal your status
Best of luck

Never a good idea to "assume" they would deliver your bag to your house, I know I would not make that assumption unless a SWA representative told me that specifically and I confirmed the destination address.
That being said, BWI is in fact the worst airport for baggage claim that i travel to domestically, (it's my home airport too.)
Always slow, often misdirecting customers to the incorrect carrousel, often baggage "jams" some where between the plane and claim area, and non attentive personnel milling around the area to boot. 30 to 45 minute waits once I arrive from the gate are pretty standard and I walk slowly because I know there is no reason to rush. Just awful.
The "busy SWA hub/airport" argument does not hold water. At Midway, DAL, & Orlando less than 30 minutes is pretty standard, (at those airports in 30 to 45 minutes I am usually in my rental car and all but clear of the airport all together.)
I love SWA but can't stand BWI baggage claim and really I don't know that SWA has any control over it.

Man that's a tough one, I have serious doubts that any fare will go down for a flight less than 2 weeks out, but stranger things have happened.
(An option if you're a regular flyer, or even a semi regular flyer, just buy the ticket and then rebook if the price drops, and bank the credit for your next flight.)
Best of luck

Seriously doubt Discovery+ will work, internet is typically okay for emails, uploading and downloading files, etc. (but very slowly)
If you want to watch Discovery that is free on the live TV portion and the TV services work pretty well unless your traveling internationally, (like to the Caribbean it drops off when you get too far south, like to Aruba.)

Make sure you have designated your companion in your RR account in advance, (if your companion has their own RR# make sure to include that when you designate the companion.)
That way the the trip will populate in their account automatically, it makes it easier to check and board etc...

Agreed @bwallet, the only victim in this was the man whose tagged luggage was removed from the airport by @sandybeachs1981 's husband. Sorry if that sounds insensitive. Take it as a lesson learned. Actions have cascading effects and create unpleasant reactions, not really appalling customer service as the thread title indicates.
BTW- I am sympathetic to @sandybeachs1981 being berated by a SWA employee, mistakes were made and figuring out a solution isn't helped by making threats.

Masks are not fun, but the requirement is only a big deal if you want it to be, in my opinion. Planes in general are full, although Thursday night my flight from Hobby was maybe only half full, stretched out and slept across three seats for 2 hours.

I hate to be perceived as a shill for SWA, but Southwest has been selling 3 tiers of fares for well over 10 years. They are very clear about refundable versus non-refundable purchases. It appears in this case they have extended the validity of travel funds by at least 1 year, 2 years overall), this is more generous than any other airline, (most other airlines subtract punitive rebooking fees to credits from cancelled flights even when they extended usage windows for Covid.) Rules are rules.
I am sorry to hear you are disappointed but make the best of it, travel sooner. In the future pay for refundable tickets no matter what airline you choose.

As others have noted it's about filling planes and profitability, SWA wasn't really ever about "small airports." They were always trying to get "gate" space which was easier in some cases at smaller airports. I mean wasn't the whole AirTran purchase about getting gate space at Atlanta?
All that being said Islip looks pretty attractive for flying direct to FL, there are direct flights to 4 locales in FL, Tampa, FLL, MCO, and PBI. That's pretty impressive for a small airport in the Northeast. Direct or Cheap flights from Long Island to Houston? Well that just doesn't probably make a lot of Dollars and "Cents" for Southwest.
On a side note I had to travel to Houston this week and the fares were high from BWI, ( Spring break I guess)
Best of luck to you in your travels.

The short answer is yes you can cancel the first leg without changing the return leg, because I have done exactly this, but only on a single person reservation.
Since you have multiple people on the same reservation it could be messy trying it online, I would recommend going in to try and edit the reservation online, but most likely calling and speaking to a SWA representative will be your best course of action, make sure you have all the details and flyer info when you call.
The "credit" will depend on what type of fare you originally purchased.

FWIW- as I noted originally, I personally was not effected since I checked my bags and preferred to sit in the exit row for the extra leg room with the knowledge i was looking at a 30 to 45 minute wait for my bags. (BWI is often incredibly slow at delivering bags to baggage claim.)
(2) SWA employees actually were in line and did not pre board this completely sold out flight, so SWA employees do not always pre-board.
The pre-boarding employees were not pushing wheelchairs or helping a bunch of nonemployee paying pre-boarders, they were just boarding early on a sold out flight, they did impact the seating choice of folks who paid a premium price for Business Select, (there were not 15 folks in A1-A15 but maybe there were 10(?).
This projected a poor image to the Business Select passengers, a couple of them voiced their concern as we waited in the jet way to board, to paraphrase one gentleman who asked out loud, "What was up with that?"
Indeed.

I don't want to sound too blunt but ignorance of printed fare rules is not a case for a law suit.
