This has been my first week out on the ramp, and my second week of training. My experience so far has been amazing. Everyone has been so welcoming and willing to help. If I have a question or need help, I'm not talked down to or treated like I'm dumb. They want to help and everyone gives you tips on how to do the job safely and efficiently. The rampers take care of each other here and I've heard that said by many people which is reassuring. As for the actual work, it is tough. It's coming up on summer and it's only going to get hotter. My knees are raw from the humidity and kneepads. My body aches everyday. My shoulders, back, knees, and feet are taking a beating. I keep hearing that it'll get easier on the body. But really, I love it. 💙 I love feeling like I worked a hard day and I made it through with a smile. One of my favorite things is seeing all the little faces watching from the windows and how excited they get when you just give them a little wave. Their tiny smiles have been a beacon on those tough days. The small interactions you get to have with the pilots and crew are so warming. They treat you like they already know you. We are not just co-workers, we are co-hearts.
But mostly, its seeing, touching, and being up close to these big, beautiful machines that spend most of their time floating through the heavens. 😊 This is where I want to be.

If you haven't had an update I would suggest to keep waiting, or just move on and hope you get an answer eventually. They are doing a lot of hiring right now so just be patient. Hopefully you hear something positive soon.

I wouldn't withdraw. Once you withdraw you aren't able to apply to that position again. I would probably just keep waiting. They'll get to it eventually.

So I just checked one of my old posts. You can't delete it, but you can definitely edit it easily. Just go to the original post and hit the settings wheel next to it.

Be careful about what you post screenshots of. I know its exciting, but this email contains your personal information, and it also contains your employee number which should be kept private. You will use it for literally everything. Don't get in trouble before you start.

The Southwest Careers page is where the posting will be. Unfortunately, the last time they had a posting was September of last year, and there is no news on when they will be posting for that position again. The good news is you can sign up for alerts on the Careers page so you don't miss out on applying for anything you may want. 😉

So, just to make sure you have the right info, you'll be training first at your local station for 2-3 weeks. Then you'll go to TOPS. They use the Sheraton hotel, but there are other hotels they may use. You will not have a roommate. With Covid, they got rid of roommates. I hope this answers your question!

You probably won't get a confirmation email. Most places don't do that. Not even I do it personally. If it's in your 'sent' emails to the right email address, that should be enough.

I assume its an in-flight positon.

During training. If you dont pass that test, there will be no Dallas. Lol. Please make sure you study. Not all airlines use the same airports.

I would try to minimize luggage if its only a day trip. If it's an overnight, I'm sure they'll take care of you and/or provide you more info as it gets closer to your date.
As far as outfits go... during training I wore a pair of black, fitted pants, pointy-toed, black flats, a black blouse, and I carried a silver bag.
Another outfit I wore was a white top, with a black, midi-length, pencil skirt, and black ballet flats. I also wore a pink ribbed basic shirt with a striped, purple, knee-length pencil skirt and pink ballet flats. I was cute, classy, and always fashionable. Lol. Most importantly, remember to wear a friendly face. 😊

CSS can be remote. It will say if its remote in the listing.
CSA will almost certainly be at an actual airport. They do a lot of work at the ticket counter.
I hope that helps! 🙂

There is an email that says you'll receive the info by the Thursday before your start date. SIDA badge info varies. I did mine the Friday before I started, some do theirs 2 weeks before, and I've read some stations will go do it together as a class on the first day. It varies, and you'll find out soon! Start preparing for that city code test in the meantime.

Congrats! That's when you'll start at your station. You'll be in Dallas 2-3 weeks after that.

The airline and TSA will recommend 2 hours. That's usually what I do. I have time to get through security, use the bathroom, grab some food or water, and leisurely head to my gate. If you need to check bags, just skip the food, and walk with a purpose. Lol.

Check out the other 'timeline' posts. You'll see it varies. There is no set amount of time in which you'll get an email. If I had to give you a range, I'd say somewhere around 1 day- 6 weeks. Lol. It seems they are hiring right now for late May start dates.

You'll def be drug tested in the beginning of the hiring process. I believe you get a CJO after all the rounds of interviews. Check out some older FA posts. That process is so different from other jobs.

You need to know the codes. If I say Phoenix, you say PHX. If I say New Orleans, you say MSY. If I say ISP, you say Long Island. If I say LGA, you say LaGuardia. You just have to know them everywhich way. Idk how else to explain they need to be memorized and recalled in any order. Use this quizlet and hit the shuffle button. That's the best way to be prepared. It's what I use, and people in my class use it also.
