@ALISTLUV in my very first response I said, "Bummer you've lost funds, but I don't know that you'll get much sympathy here".
So I provided sympathy, then warned you that you wouldn't get more. That's pretty up front and honest. Additionally, Southwest does not monitor these threads.
Thanks for your additional feedback

Yes, that's allowed. You can read more in the "what are the rules..." section here: https://www.southwest.com/help/additional-travel-accommodations/flying-with-infants

@ALISTLUV Seems like this just keeps going around in circles. You've heard from Southwest, what more do you want?
You're welcome to submit your additional comments directly to Southwest, use the contact us link at the bottom of this page and send a message.

@floridaguy is that why you preboard?

@floridaguy so ridiculous. Believe what you want, it doesn't matter to me. If someone complains to crew about someone saving a seat crew will not intervene as there is no policy against it. You are still welcome to sit there and crew will not prevent that either.

@floridaguy I don't think you are listening. Yes, the seat is available, but someone could also save it and tell people they are saving it. Southwest crew would not say they cannot do that.

@floridaguy there is no policy against saving seats. No policy for or against. It's a policy black hole.

@floridaguy I don't mind your 1-4, but there are no rules prohibiting saving seats. There is also no rule saying you can't sit there.

@Lostclimber you're welcome to be that person and sit where ever you want, regardless of what someone says about holding a seat. No one is refusing your ability to sit there.

The flight in question was for Dec 28th 2019. It had a year to use the credit, 10 of the 12 mths of the period was during the height of a pandemic with no vaccine.
One small step by you would have resulted in the travel fund being extended until September 2022. Sorry you missed that opportunity.

To expand now that I have a little more time...
1. It's not so much the RR number that matters, the name needs to be what name will be used when booking with the travel credit. If there's a RR number on the reservation and the name of the passenger matches the name of the RR account referenced then the travel credit will conveniently appear in that person's RR account, but it's possible to utilize a credit that does not appear in a RR account just by providing the passenger name and confirmation number of the reservation that generated the travel credit.
2. Default is always travel credit. No business is eager to give you your cash back so that's never the default option. When requesting a less than 24 hour refund on a purchase made with voucher you actually have to call Southwest if you don't want travel credit as their system is not setup to automatically refund back to a voucher. Credit card purchases can get a refund within 24 hours without a call, but again you have to specifically select that non-default option.

Your voucher expired almost 2 years ago and you're just now asking to use it after being told there's uncertainty. That's the cue to inquire again, perhaps after a month, not 2 years. You're welcome to write Southwest and ask for some compensation, but it seems rather unlikely to me.

Extentions were short? Any travel fund created between 3/1/20 and 9/7/20 didn't expire until September 2022. That's a 2 year extension! Travel funds created before that extension could easily be extended too.
And now travel credits no longer expire so there is no worry about converting to vouchers.
Again, I believe that you had ample opportunity to extend and/or utilize the credits that you had. Sorry you didn't take advantage of the opportunities.

Bummer you've lost funds, but I don't know that you'll get much sympathy here. You've had a lot of time to fly and chose not to. Southwest offered you extensions and you still chose not to fly. There were even opportunities to extend travel funds out until 2022 or convert travel funds to points, but you apparently didn't take advantage of those. Yes, travel credit expiration policies are more forgiving now, but the policies at the time made expiration dates clear.

The last time this promotion happened changes could be made as long as the original purchase happened before the deadline and the flights completed within the stated time period.

Only Anytime and Business Select fares are refundable. Credits from those fares would go back to your original form of payment. Credits from Wanna Get Away and Wanna Get Away Plus fares are provided as travel credits. Having a Southwest credit card has nothing to do with it and nothing has changed besides the addition of the WGA+ fare type which allows credits to be transferred.

Can't wait to hear all the complaints from folks in January who didn't qualify when they think they should have. Southwest could certainly do better with confirming registration and show a tracker for qualification. Maybe someday...

According to the Southwest route map that route is no longer available as a non-stop. Routes change based on demand, seasonality, and other business factors so it's possible it could be added back in future schedule extensions. You can write Southwest and let them know you'd like it to return. Use the contact us link at the bottom of the page and send a message.

@Hjones This thread is over 3 years old and it's unlikely the seat originally referred to is still in use or still sold. If you have a question about a specific car seat please start a new thread and ask your question.

Answered your question in another thread, but I'm glad you posted it as it's own question instead of solely hijacking another thread. You should book one ways instead of a multi-city.

So can travel credits be used to book flights for others, or only for the person who 'owns' the credits? Say I wanted to book a flight for my husband and I, and I had enough travel credits to cover both of our flights, could I book and pay for us both with the credits?
Vouchers can be used by anyone. Travel credits from Wanna Get Away fares can only be used by the person who reservation was cancelled or changed which led to the travel credit being used. If your end goal is to purchase a $200 flight for 2 people and you have a $400 voucher you need to use that voucher to buy 2 $200 flights for any random flight occurring before the expiration date. Then immediately cancel that flight and you will have 2 $200 travel credits, one associated with each person. Then use those credits to book the flight you actually want to take which is past the expiration date of the original voucher.
BTW, please create new threads with your questions instead of hijacking other people's threads.
