Hi @yolanda2431,
Thanks for joining the Southwest Community! Like @TheMiddleSeat said, this is primarily a Customer-to-Customer discussion forum. That said, I'm excited to introduce you to @TiffanyV, who will be the Moderator for this Community Outreach board begining today. You can click on her profile to learn more about her, and, as always, reach out to me in a private message if you have questions.

Looks like Saturdays are a slow day at SDF with just one nonstop to BWI as opposed to Sundays when there are three non-stops on that route. There's a nice midday Sunday flight if you could make that work, but sounds like Southwest's schedule isn't going to work for you.

Hi @annlmutschler,
Can you clarify if your question is about air travel? The Community will be happy to help if you need some insight on how to rebook a ticket or change a travel date, but we cannot offer legal advice.

No, A-List benefits are only provided to the actual person who earned A-List, not to any other travelers on the reservation. Additionally, any points earned from the flight would go to the actual traveler regardless of who paid for the flight. Even if you don't anticipate these 2 people flying much it doesn't hurt to open RR accounts for them just in case. Even just occasional flying can build up a nice amount of points to use.

You can type the three letter code for the departure city then tab or click over to the arrival city and do the same thing without selecting anything from the pop-up suggestion list. It saves you time and sounds like that's what you are looking for?

It will put some stress onto yourself, but you can also look at booking separate trips if you can get to a different airport from Punta Cana - the choices on the current route map are MDW, ATL, FLL, and BWI...when I click the map for non-stops to OMA I only see MDW there out of these choices. So - all of these are potentially not the best to get back to Omaha...it seems like MDW would have been the best choice for Punta Cana. There are some select service hotels with shuttle service around MDW although I've never tried these since I live here....HGI, Hamptonn, some independent operators...depending what you'll pay for luggage it might be close.

Also try buying one, two, and three tickets at a time insted of all four as the logic apparently charges the price for the last ticket to the whole group instead of pro-rating the remaining lower fare tickets with the next higher block.

Southwest has non-stop flights from Belize to Denver, Houston, and Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, January 21st. If the 2:10pm non-stop to Denver is canceled your best bet is the 5pm flight to Houston, then get the 1020pm flight from Houston to Denver. That's the second option listed when you search for a flight from Belize to Denver on southwest.com. I would put decent money on the flights operating as scheduled, the amount of snow predicted in Denver is not anything unusual and is well within normal operating levels. But, airlines do weird things. Good luck!

I think he's confused by the wording of the disclaimer that comes up regardless of points or cash booking, he has a WGA fare now. Even though the disclaimer says it will become non-refundable, he's actualy already non-refundable but because he used points, they would be returned to his account whether he changes the flight or not in the event of a cancelation.

Very small waiting area in SAN, not many free seats when I was there a few weeks ago. I stood at the counter to eat a fairly decent burger and fries from The Counter which is in the middle of circular gate area. My attempt to get doughnuts in the other terminal didn't go as planned, got all the way over there, through security, only to find out they were sold out. The other terminal is really nice compared to Southwest's space.

Especially if it is a full flight it would be nice to forgo your seat at the point you know you won't be flying so they can take standbys or sell some BS fares.

Thank you!!! I did have to call to get it done. My destination city was consistently grayed out, and the agent explained that it might be because there are so many city choices in Florida they don't want a user to make a mistake, so force the call. All taken care of, but did have to do it over the phone.

There's no information regarding Hawaii service currently available. Based on general information and limitations of a 737, flights will probably originate from west coast cities, not Chicago, you would need to make a connection.

Using the Southwest route map, https://www.southwest.com/flight/routemap_dyn.html you'll see BWI has non-stop service to San Jose (SJO). There's a non-stop flight to and from on Saturdays.

I don't know all of the details as I'm only a consumer of the airline industry and not an insider - but if the pre-boarding rules don't distinguish then I think it would be allowable. The best person to ask would be your "sponsor" since they would likely be accountable if you did anything incorrectly. (See news story from earlier this year about United which held back some nonrev passengers that didn't meet dress code.)

If you bought refundable tickets, then the person paying would get the refund. But you bought non-refundable tickets, meaning there is no refund -- just travel funds good toward future travel. Travel funds, just like tickets, are non-transferrable. They can only be used by the originally ticketed passenger(s). Southwest started enforcing non-transferability in 2011, and it's not arbitrary, it's the industry standard -- all carriers do it this way.

Southwest lets A-List and A-List Preferred members can fly standby on any earlier flight on the same day free of charge. Purchasing a Business Select or Anytime fare also lets you change flights same day without charge. Sounds like you don't have status and purchased a Wanna Get Away fare so therefore the policy is to pay the fare difference between what you originally paid for your ticket and what the current fare is. Tickets are more expensive on the day of travel, even versus the night before, 99% of the time so the price jump you saw is not unexpected. Yes, other airlines offer different same day change options that can be better or worse depending on the specific travel situation.

A-List status and Companion Pass are earned based on flights flown or RR points earned in a single calendar year. You need to earn 110,000 points between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018 to earn Companion Pass for the remainder of 2018 and all of 2019. Points earned in previous years are yours to redeem towards flights, but do not count towards CP.
