That would be a good pretty brutal return. There are three non-stop Southwest flight from Las Vegas to Seattle on July 15, the earlier ones are more expensive, but would get you home with much less pain. Perhaps a good trade off for the $$$. 855am-1135am $172 1230pm-305pm $193 1100pm-130am $127 (of course prices can change, just saying what they are at this moment) And while I prefer to fly Southwest, there are other airlines out there that can get you home so you may want to shop around if you are looking for a particular departure/arrival time. Hopefully that helps you, post again if you have more questions.

At Midway you would hang to the right and get screened at the rear TSA station. Even if you see a longer line at TSA Pre than the general gates, stick with it - you'll save the time with shoes, laptop, etc. Your mileage might vary at your own airport, but I've found it to be a consistent time saver at some of the larger locations MDW, LAS, MCO. TPA was one where they let more people try it out, but still usually shorter than the regular line.

Sadly, you have to search each airport individually, there's no option to search all LA, NYC, DC, or SF area airports all together as there is with other airlines such as United. It's a very helpful and time saving search option that maybe Southwest will allow someday.

RR points earned from shopping through the Southwest shopping portal usually post within a week of the item shipping or order completing, although some stores are slower and some rarely post. I haven't quite figured out if there's a pattern to it all yet. And yes, if the points post in time they will extend your expiration. Do you have a backup plan? Book a flight?

If this ever happens to you again...for airline tickets or ANYTHING else involving money...put the phone on speaker when you get a representative and record your conversations. Not that it would guarentee you get the money promised, but you could replay the recording(s) on subsequent calls and it wouldn't be a he said/she said situation. You should let the rep know you're recording.

I'm thinking once TSA gives you the ok they're going to want you to continue through security, not go back to Southwest. And I doubt either gives you anything, but just accepts what is presented to them, with some additional questions perhaps. Just my additional two cents.

Also, keep in mind that all purchases made from December 5, 2016 to December 31, 2016 counted towards your 2017 point total because those points would have posted when your statement closed in January 2017, giving you a full 12 months of credit card spend counting towards 2017 points earnings.

First, having a Companion Pass does not mean you are also A-List or A-List Preferred which is the status you need to utilize the Fly By line. Secondly, if an individual (either the pass holder or the companion) is not A-List or A-List Preferred then that individual should not be using the Fly By line. Now, if either of the two travelers is A-List and between the two travelers they have just two bags to check, the A-List traveler could utilize the Fly By line and check both bags under their name. Hope that clarifies for you

I wish Southwest would offer this benefit again. The ripoff isn't the rewards points charged, it's our government charging us extra in order to get a reasonable level of service at the airports. The absurdity is that anyone can buy their way out of security screenings. I strongly suspect Tim McVeigh would have been able to get precheck after his honorable discharge. Anyway, 9,000 points is a decent deal for a purchase made outside Southwest. Gift cards are 1,000 pts per $10; and that penny-a-point seems pretty standard for most card point programs. As an aside, getting gift cards is a pretty efficient use of points. It's a bit of a process, but most items you can buy directly with points can be purchased for fewer points by getting a gift card first, then purchasing the same item through a retailer.

You should see the status noted in the My Account section of southwest.com. You'll have an option to add a companion if you didn't have CP last year. Did you earn 110,000 CP qualifying points or fly 100 flights between January 1st and December 31st 2017?

Completely agree that Fox rental car is among the worst of the rental car options. I'm not sure it's Southwest's job to filter what companies are are available to their customers, but I guess if enough people informed Southwest of the horrible service one of their partner was offering they might do something about it. I, like you, have had a bad experience with Fox and other companies and just use it as a personal learning experience to never rent from them again. A tip for anyone renting cars, whatever agency you rent from, enroll in their free membership that lets you utilize a priority line or skip the counter all together. Those rental counters never have enough staff. If you really want to have great service, check out Silvercar, it's like night and day compared to any other rental agency and often not that much more expensive.

So much info. Are you asking about flights, hotels, and Southwest information? Disney in general? it's too much to list here...a few favorites: You can book dining and fast passes at six months out I believe if you have your tickets in-hand. I know you mentioned being on a budget, but if you did want any of the premium dining options it would be best to book them as early as possible and change them later if your schedule doesn't line up. Staying at All-Star Music you may be using the Magic Express in the lower level of the opposite terminal from Southwest. Tag your luggage with the yellow stickers and they will go automatically to the room(s). If you have anything that you need in the morning or during the day bring it in a carry on as you may not want to wait around for your checked bags to appear before going to the parks. Bring your first day supplies with you in order to jump right in. For instance you'll want your magic bands to be with you and any change of clothes that you need to go inside. Which parks will you be going to? Are you going to anything non-Disney?

Completely agree that complaining bout having to keep track of refunds is ridiculous when no other airline offers refunds for cancelations and rebooking without fees like Southwest does. I'll gladly do a little work to track my funds in exchange for not paying fees. Personally, I use a Google Sheet to keep track of my travel funds. I can access the information from any device so it's always available to me when I am booking flights. Every time I cancel or rebook I put the confirmation number, expiration date, and value of the funds into the sheet.

Which I think should be obvious - if you have Path A to buy direct from Southwest, compared to Path B where another person handles the transaction as a business, of course Path B will be more expensive than Path A. Great option to top off some points to get a reward flight, especially if your reward points were going to expire soon and you needed to use them. Not recommended to purchase points for the majority of a ticket.

It's not likely that the points from a hotel stay would post on/before December 31, but certainly a good idea if it had been thought of sooner. Book the hotel through southwest.com to ensure the points qualify for Companion Pass. Purchased points do not count towards any status tier (A-List, A-List Preferred) or Companion Pass. I agree with the others who posted, flying is probably the only way to ensure you get the points in time.

I think it is more of a battle of attrition than any absolute temperature that would automatically cancel flights. Maybe there is some absolute limit but that may be -20F or colder. But as you mention, people will need to take more breaks to warm up, gradually as temperatures get colder the de-icing and ground crews will end up bottlenecking the flights so some will end up being canceled premptively in order to manage the overall system. One article popped up with a search: http://www.businessinsider.com/why-planes-cant-take-off-in-cold-weather-2014-1 If you consider Minneapolis as an example, it gets colder there than Chicago and all the airside equipment still works into the extreme temperatures. Moisture however is another story, ice and snow will have a larger effect than the temperature alone, especially at Midway since the runways are a little shorter than other airports. Chicago Department of Aviation has to be able to keep the runways clear as there isn't as much extra allowance for braking distance, and visibility is needed for the approach for landing.

Assuming you purchased Wanna Get Away fare tickets then yes, getting the money refunded as travel funds is your only option. You have up to one year from the original purchase date to complete travel using the funds and only the originally ticketed passengers can use the funds. I know it's not much help for you, but the ability to cancel and have funds for later use offered by Southwest is much more generous than most other airlines who would either charge a large fee to make any changes or not allow any sort of refund. If you purchased a different fare type, even a senior fare, then you have better refundability so double check that.

Haha, good memory @DancingDavidE! Gravy arrived in perfect condition, didn't even have to freeze it. Family was very appreciative of the effort and the wait at baggage claim wasn't bad. I was relieved when bags started coming out and they weren't covered in gravy. I hope your Thanksgiving went well. The frozen food checked bag was from another dinner event. Suitcase had frozen steaks along with fresh fingerling potatoes, chopped bell peppers and onions, and freshly baked desserts. Dinner in a suitcase!
