Did you have the dreaded SSSS on your boarding pass? I know if that exists you get the extra special treatment (also known as extra screening)

So good news you can now save frequent travelers and book for them on southwest.com no more needing to look up the family’s information. Hopefully this will expand to the app soon but as of now it is only available on the website.

you might also contact southwest at PHX and see if they have the report and can send it to you I would try the baggage service office and maybe they can radio the manger to see what could be done to get you this info.

Could you book point to point? A-B and B-C with the connection being short I’m not sure if the system will auto cancel though so that would be a risk since you would have 2 reservations on the same day
I think the minimum connection (for SW) in DEN is 45min which is why it won’t let you book as a one way reservation.

You might look for your hotel from the resorts site directly as sometimes they offer member rates/deals and if you have any qualifying discounts you could use them (AAA, Senior rates, company rates)
I also find good deals on Priceline on occasion though the express deals
but as others have said I would avoid SW vacations just book the flights direct though SW then hotel separate

You could wait and hope there is a major flight delay or cancellation on your day of departure and if one of those occur you could request a refund. If you don’t want to wait then you would only be able to get travel funds as already mentioned.

Sorry you had to learn the hard way. On a case by case basis you can request an extension but it comes with a $100 fee so you would end up with only $21 again and that new voucher they would send would be valid for 6 months (your new reservation would expire on the date of the voucher issued so don’t end up in the same boat)
When I was new to Southwest I made the same mistake and they explained it to me like if you were making chocolate milk you have the milk and once you put the chocolate in and mix it you can’t unmix it your stuck with the chocolate milk or you lose it should you decide to not drink it.
I know it’s a hard lesson to learn but hopefully you will understand in the future. Sometimes it’s best to just pay in full on a card and skip the travel fund to give yourself more time to use the funds should the trip be questionable.

I’ve taken several flights this month and most have been 50-70% full so maybe you will still luck out with an open seat next to you but as mentioned seats aren’t being blocked on any airline here in the states. If your uncomfortable being around people you could always do a road trip or charter a plane.

So my dad had a similar situation back in December 2020/January 2021 his flight was Dec 28th with a return on Jan 3rd when it posted it gave both credits to 2021 not 1 and 1 like it should have after a few circles I did get an agent on Twitter who was able to get it figured out. Because your layover is more than 4 hours you might have to recheck the bag. Pre covid southwest didn't sell layovers over 4 hours and one time I booked a long layover and was told they wont check it all the way but now that they are selling these long layovers I feel they should be able to check the bag all the way although you might need to visit the full service counter to check in if the kiosk won't work.
When the layover is longer than 4 hours the system treats it like 2 one ways (even though it acts like a connection when booking) that's why in the email it shows flight 1 and flight 2. On the app or website it might show up with departing and departing but listed like 2 flights but not to worry you should be fine all the way to your final destination.
The one thing I'd be curious to find out is since the layover is so long and it shows up like 2 flights (as if it wasn't a connection) will it still check you in for both flights at once or will you have to check in twice.

I know a few of my FA friends who are based at hobby and other airports park off site at places like Wally Park or the parking spot
I’m also guessing they have an employee lot for employees but if you work at hobby you might ask your co hearts however for security reasons they would probably not give out that information unless your an employee.

Unfortunately Most promotions/sales offered by Southwest end at midnight (well 11:59pm) Central time and it does end up causing confusion for those who don't read the terms and conditions and it leaves out those late night ticket buyers in mountain and Pacific time zones.
Since you contacted Southwest and they rejected you the best you can do is share your feedback and hopefully a change will happen in the future with these promotions.

As stated if your RR number is attached or not doesn’t matter. all that matters is that the name on the credit matches the name for the new flight you book. LUV vouchers can be used by anyone but travel funds only apply to the name attached.
you can use up to 3 forms of payment to pay for a reservation (2 TFs plus credit card or 3 TFs if the funds cover the whole reservation)

Well, by 1/6/22, I had not received "the" e-mail and I was not able to add my wife as my companion to the fly with me on the flight I had already booked to Hawaii. Then, on my third call, I was informed by a CSR that I had not qualified for the pass, there was nothing she could do about it, that a supervisor wasn't available to talk to me (that a supervisor couldn't do anything about it anyways), and that I could go to the website under contact us and submit a complaint (to corporate).
So, here I am. Based on the bad information provided by two (2) Southwest CSR's on two (2) separate occasions, my wife and I flew the one-way trips (which we could have flown with another airline), I bought a roundtrip ticket to Hawaii (which I could have purchased on another airline), and I can't add her as a companion.
Your suggestions are welcome.

Unfortunately one of you would have needed to register then book 2 one ways where you travel then fly before the deadline back in November. You can’t each take a one way flight since you are different people. Had you or your wife or both of you completed the 2 one way flights you would each have a companion pass (or whoever completed the 2 one ways would have a companion pass)

I have been running in to this same issue with going to the Bahamas. I did a quick google search for same day PCR tests and found a place with results in 2 hours maybe you can find out like that near you. Im actually getting tested today and hopefully I’ll be on my way to the Bahamas on Thursday with my negative PCR in hand.

In my experience when I typed the companions info exactly as it appears on their RR account (including their address) it would auto populate their RR number once the companion is assigned. When you add the companion for the first time on the website you can’t add the RR number to the info being entered hopefully that will change though in the future.

First I wouldn’t check a laptop that’s just asking for trouble because if your bag were to be damaged your laptop most likely wouldn’t be covered by the airline
with TSA going through a bag I would rather them go though a bag if they think something suspicious was in the bag because if they just look at the top and move on and miss something bad I don’t need my plane going down because they missed something. I know TSA checks electronics at the security screening checkpoint maybe they look in checked bags at electronics as well
you can always share that feedback with TSA since SW doesn’t always control when the TSA goes through a bag.

For those with issues did you register for the promotion then book and fly by the deadline?
the thing that most miss is you needed to register first and if you already had a flight booked before the promotion came out and didn’t rebook it won’t count.
for those that qualify you should have gotten an email back when you qualified saying you will get a companion pass then this morning you should have gotten an email saying you can add your companion and that you were awarded promotional companion pass

When you are on the WiFi landing page in the hamburger menu you should see an option for A List preferred you would click it and log in to your RR account and it will connect you for free. Keep in mind A List folks still have to pay for WiFi

I did some shopping through Rapid rewards shopping and the points posted to my account 3 days later if you have shopping to do you could do that or as others have recommended book a hotel and enjoy a night on the town and earn the points you need to get the Companion pass.
