If you are asking in hopes Southwest would offer such a pass I highly doubt it even after the last December mess planes are still booked to capacity (at least most of the 100 segments/64 one ways I have taken) this year have been full or almost full
If they did a pass like that they would probably get bad PR for never having available flights day of (to popular destinations)

As of this posting (5:30pm 10/26) there are 4 seats left on the 1:55pm flight.
do you have A list or WGA+ fare if so you can do same day confirmed at midnight day of departure
Keep in mind as standby you may not be given a boarding pass until boarding has begun so odds are you will be in a middle seat for 2 hours in case that’s a deal breaker for you.

Two days ago, I called SWA to request the cancellation of my outbound flight to LAS because my son fell ill, and, when I tested myself, the T line on my COVID test was sort of pinkish. I still wanted to keep my inbound (return) flight but didn't know how to manage it on the website. A customer service representative informed me that my reservation was canceled, and the miles would be credited back to my account.
However, yesterday, shortly after my original flight departed, I received an email stating that I had forfeited my miles by not canceling in time. When I called SWA today, a young lady accused me of lying and claimed that I never called to cancel. I have been a loyal customer for approximately 30 years, hold two credit cards with SWA, and this is the treatment I receive.
I'm curious if anyone else has experienced a similar situation. We have no control over their phone records; moreover, their phone system doesn't even allow outgoing calls (I was disconnected from the representative three times today, and nobody called me back). Yet, they expect us to believe that their records are flawless.
Punishing clients for being cautious and choosing not to board planes when they aren't feeling 100% seems strange, to say the least.
In fact my wife is on the phone right now to cancel one leg of a RT flight and the wait time is three hours. If only she listened to my advice on this too. 🙂
The system issues yesterday made it hard to get though on the phone you should be able to cancel one leg on the app though.
and you mean you didn’t share your A List phone number with your wife

You will only be able to use 2 vouchers plus a credit card for the reservation. Vouchers don’t cover taxes so in your case find a flight costing about $130 apply the 2 $50 vouchers pay the tax. When you then go to cancel the flight request the taxes be refunded to credit card (since that is refundable within 24 hours of booking)
next repeat one more time with voucher 3 and 4 once you cancel that you can use the 2 confirmation numbers to apply anytime you want later on and you technically got out of the taxes this way as well if you end up booking a $200 ticket later on of course if the price is higher than your 2 travel funds you would just pay the difference by credit card since you can only have 3 forms of payment on a reservation.

I think they might be a new hire and trying to figure out how they can get on flights with other airlines which is probably something they would need to ask to their supervisor or other co hearts since we won’t know how to do that stuff as customers.

Hopefully it doesn’t create too many A List members since they only have 45 A spots (behind the 15 BS folks) and with assignment of other passengers on an A List reservation that takes up more spots as well

You can book a flight with a voucher then cancel that flight that will then be a travel fund that doesn’t expire.

Who books a flight for 6am then returns 3 hours later: ME! In fact I just did it 2 weeks a go to get the companion pass and 5 people right around me on the plane were doing the same thing it’s actually more common than you think which is why an airline won’t assume you made a mistake and auto cancel same day returns.
it’s always best to look at your email confirmation when it arrives to avoid these issues

MCO-STL full flight with only 2 preboarders 1 in wheelchair 1 slow walking I didn’t see family boarding since I got A boarding.
Did have another strange experience though. So original flight delayed so called to change my group of 4 to the earlier non stop well thought everything was taken care of until we get to the airport and only 2 of us were confirmed even though at the time of the change 4 seats were available and we got 4 confirmed emails well 2 on standby and 2 seats left after a supervisor got involved we were told too bad so I get to go layover style now while others in my party arrive 2 hours earlier. Fun times. Agent at A List desk was not helpful in trying to fix the phone agents mistake
luckily I don’t mind layovers but would have been nice to fly all of us together.

I don’t work for the airline or the airport I just know how air travel works and weather will mess up airlines when weather occurs.
go to ATL or even DFW during a storm like DAL had last night you would see the same problem with American, Delta, United, or any other airline. There are only so many baggage people and so many carousels an airline can use.
ground crew and the BSO employees are different you most likely won’t deal with the ground crew.
they can ship your bag to you if you live so far away.
how do you know the other 17 flights arrived after you? Maybe they were all diversions that would have arrived before you so they were on the priority list for get them their bags. Another thought maybe they had few bags while your flight had more bags so you’re could take longer to get off the plane
either way you can send a message to Southwest though the contact us link at the bottom of this page and maybe they can issue a voucher or something for your inconvenience or at least document the issue

You realize there were storms last night in DAL??
You’re lucky your flight wasn’t diverted.
after storms pass yes a backup up of bags will occur. They shouldn’t have to risk their lives with lighting because you want your bag right when you want it.
You could always go back and get your bag the next day if it’s taking too long

Hello everyone. I purchased four tickets for myself and three friends for a trip in less than two weeks from now. One of the friends moms ended up having an accident that required her to have major surgery on her arm, because of this that friend no longer has someone to watch her kids for our trip and she had to cancel out. I have another friend interested in taking her place, however, The tickets I bought for us are wanna get away. Now I’ve read other posts where people have said to cancel the flight for credit, then use the credit to purchase a ticket with get way plus to get the transferable credit to transfer to the other person. My problem is that to either upgrade or just purchase a new ticket for our flight with plus will cost an extra $200. What I’m wondering is, can I cancel the original flight and get the credit, then just find any other flight available from southwest going anywhere that cost the same price as the credit, (like say just a one way ticket priced the amount of my credit) buy that ticket with the get away plus, then cancel right away to get the transferable credit? The friend we want to transfer to already has credit on her account for another canceled flight, the credit she already has plus credit from this flight is enough for her to a buy a ticket for herself on our flight, that is why I don’t want pay $200 more, and then have an extra $200 worth of credit sitting there or sent to her. Thanks in advanced.
I think what you are describing is what was suggested for this other person which seems to have worked recently.
https://community.southwest.com/t5/Reservations/How-to-get-a-refund-for-reservation-paid-with-gift-card/m-p/163696#M7756
In simpler terms:
Original passenger cancels ticket, gets travel credit in their name only.
Original passenger re-books another flight as close as possible in value as WGA+ using the travel credit.
Original passenger cancels that flight, the resulting travel credit is now transferable.
Original passenger transfers travel credit to new passenger.
New passenger can book the flight with some extra funds since the price of the flight has gone up as we get closer to the date of travel.
If original passenger plans to fly Southwest anytime soon they could also just give you the cash that you paid for their ticket and pass it along. I assume the gyrations are because the original passenger didn't have the cash handy in the two week time frame or they aren't flying very often and would rather not carry the credit around.
Exactly as @DancingDavidE described it
I will add the new person would need a RR account to get the transferred credit
