Standby isn't the same as rebooking. ๐ Experiences vary, likely because the situations vary as well. If there are many open seats, an agent may be willing to rebook both onto the new flight. If there aren't many open seats, the A-Lister is put on standby, and it remains unclear what priority is given to -- for example -- the last two remaining seats. Should another A-Lister be given the last seat, over an unpaid companion? If a seat is available, the companion gets it. But that may be only after all the standbys are cleared.

My guess would be that something autofilled in the webpage when ordering if there isn't a record of it in your Rapid Rewards profile. Was it someone that you had previously sent an itinerary to before? Other than that I think you might need to call customer service to find out where the addresses came from so that you can find out if it was during ordering, or from somewhere in your profile.

@DancingDavidE definitely agree, I tried to suggest booking the placeholder spot in my original response but I guess I should have emphasized "do it" more than just suggest it being optional. Thankfully I've not yet been in a sold out situation, but someday it's bound to happen. Generally we're booking at least two weeks out, holiday travel is already booked, and we tend to book the companion ticket immediately and cancel later if the companion ticket is not needed after finalizing plans (work schedules never let us know for certain if we can travel together until the last minute). We get anxious when we see there's only 1 WGA fare left (at least at that particular price). CP adds a whole new level of strategy when booking trips.

And I'll add a competitive reason too.... GoGo inflight very nicely does what the OP is asking. Saved login info. Why oh why wouldn't SW inflight do this? I'd think you'd WANT to know who purchases wifi, for how long, etc. Your marketing team would love to know what A listers and approaching flyers are doing. It's also not the safest situation to be pulling out your card in a public setting.

Another vote for Porter. Great service, and direct to downtown, avoiding YYZ. Also, you don't need to take the (very short) ferry ride anymore. They've built a tunnel to the airport, and it's a short walk.

If you flew on a BS flight during the time covered by the suit, you were a member of the class and should have received replacement coupons automatically as part of the settlement. The suit was about the coupons not initially specifying that they could only be used on the original flight. As part of the suit, Southwest agreed to allow use anytime on the same day, and to note those terms on the coupon. You can use a BS coupon from a morning flight on a flight later on that same day. I often find unused coupons available for the taking on the no-bags check-in kiosks. ๐

It will be separate check-ins just as before, the companion doesn't automatically get Business Select unfortunately. If you wanted to purchase Early Bird you could do that. (Assuming your husband also has A-list status.) Early Bird would be similar to boarding position that you had before, it won't be in the A1-A15 group, it will be just after the A-list assignments. My wife and I used to do this. Now we have a baby so we go for Family Boarding instead of Early Bird for her.

While in general terms, the overhead should be ok, be warned if you're on a full flight there may be lots of folks pretty upset if you're taking up more than your share of bin space. I could see some irritated flyer trying to cram their suitcase on top of your dress or squishing your dress between two suitcases. Remember, not everyone will be super nice and caring about your dress. If you can place it nicely into a suitcase (either carry-on or checked) that would be my suggestion. Don't just assume that because the dress will lay in the overhead that you won't have any problems.

On our trip to Cancun and Playa del Carmen we took a day trip to Tulum and really enjoyed it, and hope to return for an extended visit sometime. Tulum has great beaches, many smaller hotels/accomodations, and lots of restaurants and activities. In particular the area south of the ruins and town have a strip of hospitality places along the beach. We ate at an amazing Italian place! Apparently the area had been known for European tourists much before it became popular with U.S. visitors. Lots of botique hotels, restaurants, and shops, and definitely visit the ruins on one of the days. You'd fly to Cancun on Southwest and drive or shuttle down there.

@LindseyD wrote: @Thanks for the clarification, @Brifttanyj. If you upgrade to a Business Select ticket from the Wanna Get Away fare that you currently have, the original Wanna Get Away portion of the ticket will remain nonrefundable. Any new funds that you apply to make up the difference will be refundable. One major note: If after upgrading you make any change to your itinerary, all the funds (the "refundable" BS portion -- along with the non-refundable WGA portion) will become non-refundable. If you upgrade and then need to make a change, do not use the change function. Instead, cancel for refund + travel funds, then rebook using those funds and new money. This will retain the refundability of the BS portion. The only negative is the time you'll have to wait in getting the refund back, which can often take many weeks. ๐ I know this is very confusing. I hope this helps!

Agree with DancingDavidE -- it's likely the second flight boarding position will be a bit better. Check the boarding pass for your second flight just to make sure. I've usually had a better boarding position on 2nd leg flights so I see David's rationale.

Regarding TSA Pre, you've probably already seen several suggestions on these forums but the top tips are: don't rely on automatically importing the number from you profile - type it into the box when you purchase tickets if it didn't show up automatically. It doesn't automatically get added after you buy tickets. Also type it in the box for booking companion pass, if applicable. make sure your name is spelled the same, one of the two isn't using a nickname, etc. call the 800 number and have your KTN added after purchase, but before arrival at the airport at the airport if it doesn't print on your boarding pass, the ticket agent can also add it and reprint (although at this point the time savings may be moot, I'd still do it for keeping shoes on and laptops in my bag).

You'll need to call. A phone rep can separate the travelers into their own confirmation numbers, then you can change only your flight.

They may require age verification depending on the ticket type. I believe TSA says "no" for security, but Southwest may say "yes" depending on the ticket type for Child Fare, or as an infant < 2 y.o. https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/identification https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/family/children-pol.html For our <2 y.o. lap baby we do bring a copy of a birth certificate for proof of age.

Although there isn't a change fee, if the flight fills up during the interim time or the new flight was businer than the one you changed from, the only available seat may be more expensive than what you started with. That happens a lot. I have one time changed a same-day fare when there were still cheap Wanna Get Away seats available and I got a refund, so it does happen both ways sometimes. So technically true that there isn't a change fee, but in the case of short-term changes there is a probability that the new fare is more expensive for sure.

You'll need to set your own comfort level, and I can't say specifically for DAL at that hour. My best guess is that 1 to 1.5 hours early would be fine at that hour of the morning if you are checking bags. At MDW if we show up exactly an hour before the flight, there is time to drop off the family at Curbside, curbside check the bags, wife and daughter head into the airport and I go park the car in economy garage, catch the shuttle back to the terminal, we both have PreCheck, and I'm usually walking up to the gate right at family boarding 25-30 minutes before departure.

I think we covered on another thread, but yes you should be okay. Some additional clarification - you'll need to check with the gate agent to secure the gate check tags for the items. Your largest difficulty may be carrying three gate check items down the jetway along with your carry-on. You may want to make some friends in the family boarding line. If you buy the blue Southwest gate check bags maybe you can get both car seats into one container?

You can also add them by calling the reservations line (or A-list number if applicable) after booking if you like to have it done before arrival at the airport. Tell them over the phone the name and birthday. You'd still need to bring the birth certificate for verification. The main point is that you can't do this online in advance, you have to either call ahead, or do it when you arrive at the airport.

I am a frequent flyer who records take-offs and landings. This is a very difficult question for me to answer. #1- The best seat is infront of the wing with a full window view. This would be in rows 2-4 but are usually occupied by pre-boarders. #2- The next best seat is immediate behind the wings. I enjoy seeing/recording how the wings manuver during takeoff, desent, and landing. Just so awesome to see.

One time I had a lot of extra time at ATL and put on MapMyWalk and went through every concourse at ATL with a graphical map of hte place on GPS. It was interesting to see the international hub at the far end, and to see the other restaurants. That one ended up being about a 10k if I recall correctly.
