As far as TSA is concerned, no. As long as the first and last name match her ID, she will be fine. The only way this might cause as issue is if the traveler has TSA PreCheck. Generally, the name on the ticket has to match the name in the PreCheck system. If she does not have PreCheck, this is irrelevant, and if she does, it can likely be corrected by the gate agent the date of travel.

I stand here as an ALP CP holder always holding out on a promotion myself! I also understand that companies make decisions all the time about how and where to incentivize customers to do more business with them. I am sure SW is no different, and I imagine that it is not so much about get a certain type of customer to fly more so much as driving business in a market or geography. This is just my opinion. Hopefully I can be a lucky one! 🙂

@suttond2 wrote: First, Delta matches SW's prices, then when SW leaves a market, MSP in this case, Delta raises prices. I've been flying ValueJet... then AirTran... now SouthWest rather than Delta for decades. I've seen this happen over and over. SW PLEASE add back at least a few direct flights from ATL to MSP and back. Going through Midway or St.Louis is not fun. Glad you are in the RDU market now though. Don't have to fly Delta or United there any longer! SW is short of planes. MAXs have been grounded and some lease planes are leaving the fleet by the end of the year.. That means that by 1/1/20 SW's fleet will be down over 10% from where it thought it would be. That in turn means the airline has to figure out how to best use the planes it does have. Thus some routes get cancelled. Maybe that will change when the MAX grounding is lifted. Your post was to SW's customer to customer forum. I'd suggest that you submit your route suggestion directly to SW. Here's how to do so: https://www.southwestaircommunity.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/Submitting-a-Suggestion-and-or-Complaint/ta-p/87244

Whatever....if their "computer system" has an algorithm that thinks the best option to go from Point A to Point B includes Point B, C, D and E then they must have bought from the same people who manage their WiFi.

Unfortunately, no. The only way you will be able to board together is for you to stand with her in her spot. You might consider adding Early Bird Check-In to elevate her position as well. This is controversial, and I would rather not start any discussion on this topic, but you can also board in your position and save a seat for her. Hanging on to a middle seat for her should not be too difficult. I understand this battle as my wife and I deal with it frequently. Good luck!

You should be able to preboard (both of you) before general boarding with no issues! From SW’s site: “Preboarding is available for Customers who have a specific seating need to accommodate their disability and/or need assistance in boarding the aircraft or stowing an assistive device. If a Customer with a disability simply needs a little extra time to board, we will permit the Customer to board before Family Boarding, between the “A” and “B” groups. Those Customers who need extra time to board will receive a new boarding pass with an extra time designation. The designation serves as notification to our Operations (boarding) Agent that the Customer should be permitted to board before Family Boarding. We will allow one travel companion to act as an “attendant” and preboard with a Customer with a disability. In most cases, the Customer requires assistance from only one other person, and any additional family members or friends are asked to board with their assigned group. Customers should request preboarding from our Customer Service Agent at the ticket counter or departure gate. Our Agents are trained to ask factfinding questions to determine if the Customer meets the qualifications described above. Those Customers who qualify for preboarding will receive a new boarding pass with a preboarding designation. The designation serves as notification to our Operations (Boarding) Agent that the Customer should be permitted to preboard. It's important to keep in mind that Customers who preboard may not occupy an exit seat. Note: Customers who are preboarding because of a need for a specific seat onboard the aircraft should speak with the Operations (Boarding) Agent prior to the start of preboarding to alert the Agent to the seating need.” So simply speak to a customer service agent. Good luck, and happy flying!

Check out all the ways you can pad your CP qualification points here. Of course, the other way to get lots of CP qualifying points is to get a RR Chase credit card, but I understand that may not be the best choice for everyone!

@Anewlife19 It is awesome to hear that a SW employee made such a profound impact to your life! Since this is a customer forum, your best bet would be to reach out to SW directly. I am confident they will not be able to share the employees info with you, but they might can get your communciation to her somehow. Use the contact us link below! Also, you might remove your e-mail address from your original post to protect your privacy. Good luck!

I've repeated this many, many times: There are often multiple Chase offers for the Southwest card(s). The offer you will receive is the one through which you click when you apply. Not the one you saw the other day. Not the one you heard about. Not the one a friend mentioned. On the Southwest website, the standing offer is 10,000 points plus a $200 statement credit. This is currently the only offer that includes a statement credit as a sign-up bonus. Elsewhere, there are multiple offers of 40,000-80,000 points, depending on card. You cannot get both offers on the same card. (You cannot get the $200 statement credit plus 40,000 points.) There is not now nor has there ever been an offer of $200 statement credit plus 40,000 points. People sometimes see both offers and combine them in their mind. You receive the offer that is shown when you click the apply button. It's a good idea to always take and keep screenshots of the specific offer you are applying for, and each page of the application process.

I had issues all morning getting the calendar to load. At around 9:20 CDT, I was able to book a January flight using the low fare calendar, but this only went out through the end of January. I ended up calling to make reservations by phone for the February flight I wanted to book. The agent said she had heard people were not able to access online, but she was able to access the calendar. Now I know for next time, call to get the unicorn tickets on the holiday week/weekend if they are not showing online.

Sometimes , when the airline expect it can sell out Anytime fares on a route, SW does not make WGA fares available for sale. As time progresses, if it finds the Anytime fares are not selling as well as expected, it will then make WGA fares available. No guarantees, but I have seen it happen.

@cstactnt wrote: I have been denied using my business select coupon on my last three business select flights. Twice because they say they don't have enought time as it is a short flight. Then if so, figure out another way to use the coupon. Then one time due to some "turbulent weather a turbulance to ATChead" that never ever even came close to turbulent weather. I think all this is about corporate looking for ways to not only give out free cocktails, but to not even serve free drinks, etc. This is getting a bit annoying to say the least. Sorry to hear that you are annoyed, but the reality is that pilots report turbu;ent conditions to ATC, which in turn relays the reports to other pilots flying the same routes. Those pilots then heed the warnings, an have the flight attendents sit.. Better that than flight attendents hitting their bloody heads on the ceiling panels.

Hi There!
Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that we are aware of the "Sorry can't connect" bug. The team found the root cause and we are actively testing the fix. We plan to have this fixed in our September release.
Sorry for the trouble but thank you so much for your feedback. And thank you so much for flying Southwest!

Few people appreciate the severity of the peanut dust allergy. On our last trip we have been met with a condescending tone when the peanut dust allergy is mentioned. I myself don't have the allergy, but I am the one who has to help manage it when my wife has a reaction, it can be scary.
