You gotta do what you gotta do. Life (flying) is pretty safe as long as you wear your mask, wash your hands etc. Southwest does a good job of sanitizing it's planes and keeping plane air fresh. Statistics I've seen are that your chance of dying from Covid exposure on a plane is something like 1 in 400,000 to 1 in 600,000. Your chance of dying in a car crash is something like 1 in 125 over your lifetime.

The exception being flights coming from international locations. When you return from international locations you do need to collect your bags at your first stop in the US , go through customs, then recheck your bag. As @elijahbrantley said, you can always confirm with the agent where to get your bag when you check in. --TheMiddleSeat

Great information. I've already moved my statement due date to around the 24th of each month, so now it looks like I need to move it to the 28th. I'm assuming that it will still be added although after the new year. (Normally takes a few days to see in my points after the billing cycle date) That's an easy fix if you just request Chase to move your billing date to later in the month, they do that in less than a minute. And normally, December is a big points month for me with Christmas. Thanks for the heads up.

These gents have it right! Here is what the SW site says officially: “Two adults traveling with a child six years old or younger may board during Family Boarding, which occurs after the “A” group has boarded and before the “B” group begins boarding. If the child and the adult are both holding an “A” boarding pass, they should board in their assigned boarding position.” You might also find this Knowledge Base article about traveling with kids helpful. Good luck!

Hi there! First of all, pls edit your post to remove your co formation number as this is a public forum. Here is the verbiage from SW’s site: Golf bag in hard-sided golf bag carrying case provided by Passenger, including clubs, balls, and shoes. Hooded golf bags or golf bags in a soft-sided carrying case provided by the Passenger will be subject to limited release. Note: Overweight charges will apply to golf bags exceeding 50 pounds. Furthermore, regarding size: “If the item of sporting equipment exceeds 50 pounds in weight or 62 inches in size (outside length plus height plus width), excess weight and size charges may apply.” So as long as your measurement of the size of your carry case fits the 62 inch rule, you would be fine. Otherwise, you would need to be prepared to pay. Happy flying and golfing!

If you purchased the wanna get away fare you would need to pay the fare difference to upgrade to the anytime fare in this case the fare difference between your wanna get away ticket and the anytime fare was $399. It's no different than if you are on say delta and they have a first class seat on an earlier flight they don't just give it away you would have to upgrade to the first class cabin. -Blake

It's been a couple years since I flew thigh MCI however I do know Southwest only has 8 gates at MCI and they are all in the same terminal (terminal B) you shouldn't have any problem making your connection assuming your first flight is on time. -Blake

It is based on your card member anniversary. You get four new ones when the anniversary year rolls over! Unfortunately, there is no place to go to track what you have used and what you have left. A quick call to Chase will clarify; they are the authority on the card and all benefits associated. It is a great perk, especially for my wife. She is my companion on the Companion Pass, so we are never able to board together. We sometimes upgrade her boarding position so that she is closer to me; I usually have a good spot due to being A List Preferred. Enjoy the card and flying SW!

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Every airline, including the one you retired from, treat this situation the same way: if a ticket is cancelled, the resultant travel funds expire one year from the purchase date of the original ticket. That fact is not hidden. It is in writing on the website.. The company allowed anyone with travel funds to extend them to 9/7/22. That was more lucrative than every other airline in America. That extension was in place for at least three months, and expired on 9/7/20. It appears you dd not hear about it. At this point, the best you can do is as Elijah suggested above.

@Maryshumaker wrote: I called their corporate number and the person I spoke to said it was cancelled due to the discrepancies with weights and balance and that they cancelled a number of flights because of those issues. It makes sense and I understand but my main concern was the short notice. If the airline didn't discover the issue until the morning of your flight, then the airline couldn't cancel your flight until the problem was discovered. Right?

Agree with @TheMiddleSeat. My assumption (pls confirm) is that if you use your roller, you could check it at the end of the jet bridge like a stroller. The other option would be to use crutches, like you said.

Like these gents said, assuming you can get it through security, could you place it in some sort of tote or bag that would fit under the seat? I think that would be ideal. Here is the full detail about baggage from SW’s site.

Definitely a strange situation! In the past, there was no good tracking mechanism for travel funds, even for SW agents. So in a way, this doesn’t surprise me. I’ve sat on the phone before while we tried to track down my travel funds. Fortunately, each traveler can no see his or her travel funds in their Rapid Rewards account. Even though this was a weird situation, I’m glad they corrected it for you and solved the problem that “took” your funds. And even though you can track your funds in your account, as a best practice, I keep every booking or cancellation email for my own tracking purposes.

@TheMiddleSeat wrote: If you first check the current price for the leg then go into your account and choose the change flight option you can see the price difference which would let you determine the price paid. For example, if I search for a flight and see that it is currently selling for $50 or 5000 points then I go into my account, choose change flight, and see I can change to the same flight for +$10 or +1000 points you can determine that you paid $40 or 4000 points for the flight. Brilliant suggestion!

Sorry to hear about your experience. You get such a small number of points going the survey route that I don’t find the time invested worth the reward. But that is my opinion, and I can understand your frustration. At least they let you keep the points you had earned. I hope you’re able to use them to go somewhere fun!

@bwallet wrote: It is hard to tell how many people have A-List or higher with Southwest since with no upgrades, there isn't as clear of a distinction. Still, I'm sure that it is a lot. What has changed in the past 20 years that has made for so much bloat? I'm A-List and fly about 30 times a year. I can only remember a very few times over the last 5 years where I ended up with a boarding position outside of the A group -- and when that happened I was allowed to board at the equivalent of A-61. There may be bloat, but It hasn't affected my ability to get a decent boarding position.

The only discount I've seen on a points bookings was back in 2016 during the national SW technology outage where they gave affected customers (myself included) promo codes for 50% off the next flight booking points or cash but never seen a sale like this with points bookings. Oh, you're right -- I forgot that was also on points bookings. That one was a bit different, in that it was for a limited amount of people (affected customers), not public, and was in response to a problem. But I agree, I've never seen a sale like this on points bookings before.
