Are we allowed to save digital boarding pass drink coupons for future use or do we have to use them on the leg they are issued for ?
I believe the terms on them are for that flight only, or I'm vaguely remembering that one version of these used to be valid on the same day but not sure if that survived to the digital coupon age.
That said, save a copy/screenshot of them and ask nicely, many FA will allow it but YMMV. I'd say you have a good chance for same day usage. "Hey I didn't want to have this at 7 a.m. but now I'm on the way back home at 7 p.m. and I'm ready..." will be understandable by many.

Yes, we can all read the policy, but when an agent on the phone tells you that they are going to make an exception and issue a refund the customer should be able to trust that. Southwest Vacations is the most dishonest and incompetent company I have ever worked with.

Thanks. Mom has her own SW acct and she flies it more than us. We will just give her all the info because after the $100 is deducted, she will probably pay with points. She has SW CC and uses it for everything. This post was a little older so I didn't know if that changed.
Also, why does SW require us to make a separate account to use the "community". I already had a SW login, but it would not work here, so I had to create a separate one.
Let us know how it goes, the points+cash option is new this year but should work to accept a voucher wherever you could also pay with cash.
IMO it’s a good practice for separate accounts since your “main” Southwest account has access to your credit cards, flight confirmation numbers, etc. Better to have this one unlinked.

Is this still accurate. I have a LUV Voucher in my wife's name, good until this coming Aug. And like the OP, I would like to use it towards a flight for my mother to come and visit. It has a Voucher Number and a Security Code. If I can, can she make the reservation in her SW account and just enter the Voucher Info. OR, do we need to make the booking logged in under my wife's SW Account and my mother can reimburse us for the amount above the $100 voucher? Thank you.

guess is that if you call southwest and say you would like a refund, they will tell you that there is no policy on seat saving and tell you that you could have sat in that seat. It's several years after your post and the same seat saving is still being done today. At this point, I do not think it will ever change. Southwest got their money and that is where they stopped caring.

It is calendar year for flights, hotels, and other activities but the biggest exception is that spending isn't recognized continually, it's upon your statement.

Oh, the whole vape-on-a-plane thing can be tricky. I actually had a buddy who ran into a similar situation. He was 20 and flying out of California. He had two vapes in his carry-on. The TSA did check his bag, but they weren't really looking at his age, just making sure it wasn't something dangerous. They let him through without any issues.

SW has stopped enforcing its rules a few years ago, and it is no longer pleasurable, nor economically useful to fly Southwest. Where I generally fly out, with a little planning, Delta and American can be equal in price. It is a huge turnoff upon boarding to see the one faker with an entourage preboard.

I haven't checked luggage in over 25 years. After the second time my luggage did not arrive, once again with very specific clothing required, a suit for an international presentation & a banquet down the first time, that was the very last time I ever checked luggage.
I do love your thinking. It's a great idea if it works for you. However, never have the luxury to sit around and wait for 30 rows of people to deplane. But if I had the time it sounds very entertaining.

My workaround: I called Chase and they are overnighting the card to me free of charge. Still not a great solution but the call took 5 minutes and hopefully flights won't go up too much before tomorrow. Hope that helps someone out there.
Someone had mentioned that you have to write down the info earlier, I agree this should be a lot easier of a process. Glad to hear you got an expedited response - if your flight is for more than a few weeks out hopefully you'll be okay. It's tough when you get within the week.

Hi there,
I seen you had the same problem. When I seen it seemed impossible to get my the much needed PIN, I freaked.
I called Southwest and told them from the $500 GC I should have a remaining balance of $204, but I don't see it in my Southwest account. The rep told says for her to check with the GC number, I need the pin. Problem was, after using the GC on my southwest account, I thought it took the credit of the GC amount. But from what i'm learning now, is that it doesn't. I was worried because I had deleted the email of the Costco Southwest e-gift card since I thought it uploaded to my Southwest Airlines account. The rep then told me to call where I purchased, which I called 'Costco Online Order' number (1-800-955-2292). The Costco rep natalie was very helpful. I told her my story, and that the only info I had was my GC #, but had no pin. I also had my credit card receipt when I purchased. She then asked me for my Costco member number where she was able to see my transactions. Then from there, she gave me instructions so I can retrieve that email again:
Go to: memberedelivery.com
Click on 'Digital Order Portal'
Info you'll need is the Costco Order number (which if you don't have it, call the Costco online rep to retrieve it), and also the email you bought the e-giftcard with.
I know this has happened to you in 2021, but knowing the GC amount doesn't expire, hoping this info can still help you to retrieve your receipt again with the PIN #.
And hoping this will help others too.
Learned a lesson, to just make sure I print the e-gift GC emails, or don't toss the email until the entire $ amount is used on the GC.

30 years as an SWA loyalists. I drive 2+ hours one way just to fly SWA. So I wrote to the VP of Customer Relations on this topic. Got a boilerplate response. My thought was simply to reward those of us who earned A List Preferred (and even Companion Status) for the past 20+ years. At that point if you are still qualifying each year with active credits fine. But for many of us who's jobs morphed into "virtual" after COVID and fly maybe 6 times per year now instead of 100+, we would automatically get nothing more than A List Preferred boarding status. No extra points. No special accommodations other than not being stuck with "the unwashed masses" 😁 if at 24 hours and 10 seconds we check in and are stuck in middle to late B. What's the financial risk to the company? Maybe the loss of Early Bird, or Ugrade Revenue for the few flights we are still doing? I have Hilton Lifetime Diamond status as a thank you for 1500+ nights in their properties. 1 time o 100 tines a years I walk in with those extras. Not even asking for that at SWA. Let's start a grassroots campaign that SWA can advertise to younger road warriors to cement their loyalty. As I have said for 30+ years: "If Southwest doesn't go to that city, I really don't need to be in that city!".
Hello-
I would forward your A-List policy suggestion to Southwest's general email; that way, it can be sent to the appropriate department head within the corporation.
Its possible that the VP of Customer Relations may not be correct department to receive the suggestion (may be VP or Director of Operations, Marketing or whoever oversees the Rapid Rewards loyalty program). Not sure if Customer Relations forwarded your letter to the appropriate department head(s) but it might be worth it to resend it just in case.
https://www.southwest.com/html/contact-us
Nevertheless, not sure if Southwest will make an exception simply because as we all know, frequent flyers pay a lot of money in airfare to the airline to fly frequently, even for WGA short-hauls if you add them all up. But as I said, your letter can help the aforementioned departments determine what kinds of promotions to offer including the current promotion of being able to buy Tier-Qualifying Rapid Reward Points until 8/15.
