I have the priority card and like the $75 travel credit, 7500 annual points, and 4 upgrades. Certain times of year there will be bonus point promotions, which is a good time to use the card but if you only get 1 point for $1 spent then it's time to use another card. The downside is the $149 annual fee. I've heard some people have called and asked for a waiver and got it but I have not yet tried that.

My mother-in-law (age 96) does not plan to fly again. She has over 8k points in her rapid rewards account. I on the other hand plan on booking a flight next week or two and do not have enough points for the flight.
I believe I can book a flight in her name and her points with a wanna get a way plus fare, cancel a day or 2 later and then transfer the points into my RR account free of charge.
Can someone confirm this?

The only time I buy early bird is when I think I might forget to check in 24 hours early or I am not able to. That being said, whenever I pay for it, I am not disappointed with the boarding position I get which usually is in the B's.

Happened to me early this year and when I got home, I wrote Southwest a very polite letter stating what happened and they gave me and my wife both $250 vouchers. The 1-day delay did not bother us as we got to stay another day on vacation.

My wife and I both have a SW voucher for $250. I just booked a one-way flight for $297. I was able to use 1 voucher and thought I could pay the remaining balance of $47 with the other. I was not able to use the 2nd voucher, so I used my credit card. Wondering what the policy was that would not allow me to use a 2nd voucher for the $47.

There are no tricks, just check the SW schedule and pick what works the best for you and your group. There will be no additional charges for you since SW changed the schedule.

Another reason to always try and book with points. I know conventional wisdom says it's a bad idea to buy points because you pay slightly more, up the upside is that it is 100% refundable. I look at it as travel insurance.
