Thanks, Taylor! Great list! Count my vote in for Anchorage, Alaska (ANC) because I live in Alaska! However, I know there are many variables in where airlines can fly to and from such as how many gates, contract issues, projected customer numbers, etc. However, it would be awesome even if SW Airlines had a winter season option of ANC to Hilo, Hawaii.

I've seen this abused many, many times. SWA has allowed this to matastasize over the years and now it's common. SWA can stop this but it's easier to turn their heads and act like it's not going on. They don't have the will to fix the matter.
I have no problem with a person that is wheel chair bound boarding first. But why are they allowed the premium seats that people have paid extra for? Why can't they sit in the middle or even the rear of the plane?
What if you had a simple fee of $5 (nominal at best) to preboard? The abuse would not stop but the filthy person who abuses the system might not come up with the five bucks. I believe it would marketedly reduce the abuse.

My son was just boarding his delayed flight from Dallas, TX to to return to his Navy air station in San Diego. Him and another service member neither in uniform, went to board when military was called after priority boarding. The service member in front of him clearly white, showed his military ID and ticket was scanned and he was allowed to board. My son right behind him , who is half white half Hispanic has dark hair showed his military ID and the attendant told him he could not board and needed to return to B 42 position to wait to board. I have never heard of such utter disrespect for our service members , but also the utter display of prejudice that occurred . I am appalled at the gate attendants hatred and disrespect. attendant was at Gate 2 Dallas Lovefield airport Dallas to San Diego departure at 10:25 (delayed) originally supposed to depart at 10:05 12/29/22. They said when we got home we could email a copy and get a full refund for her. We did it and they only gave us a $150 useless credit because we will never fly with them again. SHAME ON SOUTHWEST!!! I have to admit that I am confused.. You may need a birth certificate for lap children (those under the age of 2), but for no others. Someone anywhere near that young would never be forced to sit alone. Please explain... As far as the mask incident goes, mask wearing by EVERYONE age 2 and older is required by federal law. EVERY airline enforces that law. You may not like it, BUT IT IS THE LAW. As said several times up thread, this is a customer forum, and the airline will not resolve specific customer complaints here. Pardon my skepticism, but ANYONE can claim to be someone else -- in this case Al Timpauer Southwest Airlines B737 Pilot If Big Al was sending that to prospective members of a hunting party , do you really think he would have put Southwest Airlines B737 Pilot in his message? Why? Why don't you tell us exactly how Big Al contacted you. Something smells awfully fishy.

I have been flying SW for over 20 years,,,,and have brought more than a few new customers into the SW Family. Moved to Knoxville and was shocked and disappointed to find no service. To say the area is growing is an understatement. NY/CA/ ILL/ to name a few states are showing up in droves. Tell me SW what can we do as customers to push our local airport to accommodate your service. I would be heart broken to lose my ability to fly with you….In fact I am going to Hawaii soon and had to book my flight on a different airline and it was painful. Help us to help you make this a no brainer decision! Mr Teight

@LAloha wrote: I was called by Southwest a few days before my flight saying they had overbooked my flight and if I was willing to take a later flight. They offered $500 for compensation, and I said I would take if, but did not know exactly when I could rearrange my plans for another flight. They said to choose a date and if I needed to change it, I could. So I accepted it and they rebooked me for August 30th. I emailed Southwest asking if I was able to cancel the current reservations and book it for later. They emailed me saying that they cancelled my voucher and it is not longer valid, since I was not traveling. I called in to see if my reservations had been cancelled, as I did not cancel, had only asked if I could and if I could rebook. My reservations were still there. They transferred to a lady in customer relations and she said it was too late to get my voucher back. I told her that I had not even cancelled my booking but she said sorry. I think this is illegal, if not unethical. I asked to speak to someone higher, and she said there was no one. I have been advised by a lawyer friend to sue for the $500. I hate to have to do this, but I have never seen any airlines do this, and I actually worked for the airlines for 15 years. Suggestions? I do want to eventually travel. I'm not sure if I'm understanding everything correctly, but that doesn't make sense to me. You can check the value of your voucher here: Check Travel Funds (just click on "+Check Southwest LUV Voucher") I've never heard of a voucher being cancelled once given to a customer. Perhaps this is just a misunderstanding?

Mamie, The job of a flight attendant is safety. Amenities are not a guarantee either. Your ticket is for the actual travel itself. You must not be a frequent flyer or you would realize this.

@ACL -- you can't board a new flight with your missed flight's boarding pass. You should have gone to the podium at the gate as soon as you knew you were going to miss your flight and they would have given you a new boarding pass for your next flight then and there. Also - boarding passes take seconds to print, so you should not have missed your newer flight if you did not have your boarding pass in hand when you went to board. It's rare but I've seen it happen, people are in line to board and the scanner beeps when someone's ticket is scanned, indicating that they don't have an actual boarding pass but a security document, or there is another issue, and they have to go to the gate agent and get a boarding pass printed. --Jessica

@jquebby wrote: I purchased my ticket January 12, 2020 for travel January 14th. I also purchased EBCI. I was able to use it for my outbound flight but not for my inbound flight because I ended up changing my travel to leave one day earlier. Because the EBCI is non-refundable, Southwest is unwilling to give me a refund. I have already taken to Twitter to express my displeasure about this and will never again waste my money for this product. I will simply wait ask at the boarding gate when I arrive if there are any more A zone slots available. I would rather pay $50 for that than waste the $25 for EB and get nothing. The closer to 36 hours pre flight time you get, the worse the value of your EBCI. Why - because EBCI positions are allocated based on when they are purchased. If bought within 24 hours of flight time it is worthless. 'As far as EBCI refundability goes, you yourself said "Because the EBCI is non-refundable, Southwest is unwilling to give me a refund." so you seem to understand that it is nonrefundable. You do know what nonrefundable means -- don't you? You may not like it, but that is the rule.

@Justinrhibbard wrote: By not allowing families 13 and under to board together, Southwest is blatantly and knowingly violating the law. WRONG. Southwest allows families to board together, they just have to board in the same group as the last person in the group. Thus, family members in the high B and C groups cannot jump the line just because one person in the family has A-boarding.

While I tend to agree that there are many people these days who seem to lack an understanding that other people also exist, to be fair, Southwest allows seat saving. The easiest "fix" would be for Southwest to ban the practice in the first place.

If there were direct flights from Baltimore I would be able to go even more!! I’m sure it would be a very popular route! Please, please!!

Why not program your computers to behave in an adult manner? My first experience getting cancelled was having a round trip to Newark NJ and finding I might need to return home from Albany. I booked Albany to San Diego. Overnight SWA cancelled my round trip to Newark which of course could have meant I would lose my transportation to the east coast as well as my return. Most adult response and certainly doable - warn your customer as they attempt to double book. Allow some time for cancelling the unneeded res in case, as was my case I needed to know I could get the return from Albany before I gave up my seat on the return from Newark. Second adult response - send a daytime email AND text message warning that one of the res needs to be cancelled within x hours. Seems pretty fair to the airline and the passenger(s). SWA's choice - randomly cancel at midnight and good luck. In the context of refusing to cancel MAX-8 flights until the compromised FAA was commanded by the President, I have very little faith in SWA's safety concerns. Didn't use to be this way. Not only hurts passengers - it's an insult to the amazing rank and file at SWA who made it a superior airline for so many years.

The only limit on number of batteries has to do with larger batteries. Read below from FAA website... "Lithium ion batteries (a.k.a.: rechargeable lithium, lithium polymer, LIPO, secondary lithium). Passengers may carry all consumer-sized lithium ion batteries (up to 100 watt hours per battery). This size covers AA, AAA, cell phone, PDA, camera, camcorder, handheld game, tablet, portable drill, and standard laptop computer batteries. The watt hours (Wh) rating is marked on newer lithium ion batteries and is explained in #3 below. External chargers are also considered to be a battery. With airline approval, devices can contain larger lithium ion batteries (101-160 watt hours per battery), but spares of this size are limited to two batteries in carry-on baggage only. This size covers the largest aftermarket extended-life laptop batteries and most lithium ion batteries for professional-grade audio/visual equipment." For a DJI matrice 210 with TB55 batteries; Install 2 in the vehicle, and pack 2 more large ones safely. This gives you a total of 4 large (up to 160 WH) batteries but subject to <airline approval>. They always have to throw some confusing language in there...

I definitely agree, let's start a campaign to get southwest to CID! Even though SWA is more direct than hub and spoke, it does treat STL airport as a mini hub (https://www.missourinet.com/2017/06/05/travel-options-from-st-louis-airport-hinged-to-growth-of-southwest-hub/) which would allow for one stop international travel to Mexico and the Caribeaan. Some of the smaller SWA locations only have one flight a day, and this may be the pefect model that would fit CID - STL.

@dw0427 wrote: That's a crap response from Southwest. They can absolutely ask different questions to minimize the many that are now taking advantage of pre-board. Southwest is using the Federal regulations as a guise for they do not have the stones to change the policy for fear of bad publicity. As an A-List preferred Member and knowing that my status means nothing because of the ever increasing healthy folks taking advantage of the lax pre-board policy. Why bother frequently flying SW anymore? Seems to me other airlines are more stringent in pre-board than SW...... As a suggestion to SW, why do they allow the whole families of pre-board passengers to board at the same time? I don't mind those that are wheelchair bound but the countless folks that walk on the planes vs. disabled is evergrowing. airline personnel may not ask what specific disability the person has, but they can ask questions about a person’s ability to perform specific air travel-related functions, such as boarding, deplaning, or walking through the airport.
