Credit Card Signup Bonus: Consider applying for a new credit card that offers a generous signup bonus. Many travel rewards credit cards provide a substantial number of points as a bonus after you meet a minimum spending requirement within a specific timeframe. Ensure you can meet the spending requirement without going into debt.
Online Shopping Portals: Many airline loyalty programs offer online shopping portals where you can earn bonus points for purchases made through their links. Check if Southwest has a shopping portal and use it for your online shopping.
Dining Programs: Some airlines have dining programs that allow you to earn points when you dine at participating restaurants. Sign up for Southwest's dining program if they have one in your area.
Refer-a-Friend: Some credit cards offer referral bonuses when you refer friends or family members who are approved for the card. Check if your credit card has a referral program and refer friends to earn extra points.
Hotel Stays: If you have upcoming hotel stays, make sure you're earning points through the hotel's loyalty program. Some hotels have partnerships with airlines, allowing you to transfer hotel points to airline miles.
Rapid Rewards Shopping: Southwest has a shopping portal called Rapid Rewards Shopping. You can earn bonus points for shopping through this portal. Look for special promotions and offers to maximize your points.

I definitely understand the frustration. My biggest issue would be that of price because it doesn't seem to reflect that of a low cost airline. Now a lot of that is due to higher fuel costs right now, so I can give a little slack. As far as the delays and cancelations, all airlines are being affected by weather, pilot/staff shortages, among other things. So, Southwest isn't the only one affected here. Don't forget we're still on our way out of a pandemic. People are still getting sick, so there's going to be callouts.
As far as "Other airlines offer a wider range of nonstop flights and red eye flights!" I will definitely agree with you on the redeye flights and hopefully they're in Southwest's future. As for the nonstop flights, that is true to a degree, but really only if you include long-haul and the regionals (SkyWest, Envoy Air, ExpressJet, etc). Comparing just the domestic mainline networks, Southwest has more airports with more service than most of the legacy carriers. American has the most number of hubs at 10, which means for the most part, on a legacy carrier, you're not going to have service to more than 10 airports unless it's from their hub (American - 10 hubs; Delta - 9 hubs; United - 7 hubs). On Southwest, you can get service to at least 10 airports from a whopping 50 airports! Now some of these are on a more seasonal basis, but that's still a lot of airports with at least 10 nonstop destinations on Southwest. And there's even a lot with service to 8 or 9 airports, not to mention, Southwest has the most nonstop service to Cancun and San Jose del Cabo in Mexico.

Is it that the points are 1) pending in your RR Shopping account but not confirmed 2) have not yet posted to your RR Shopping account OR, 3) have not appeared in your SW RR account?
If either 1 or 2 above, then by day 16, you should log into your RR Shopping account and then click on "My Account" from the top left drop down. At the bottom is a Contact Us link where there is an option "Order Inquiry or missing points". Complete all of the required fields. Within a few hours you should receive an acknowledgement email with the opportunity to attach additional info. Then reply to the email with a copy of your receipt. Within 3 days it's usually resolved. SW indicates on some stores' landing page that you only have a certain number of days to dispute. It's best to do it at day 16.

I've had this happen twice so far, out of about ten purchases (I just got my card in February). In the first case, since it was a big purchase (a new mattress), I emailed within a few days and they said they wouldn't look into it until 15 days passed. I will say that on Day 15, they emailed me back and said, "Yeah, it's not showing up. We'll contact Nectar, but, it might be 6-8 weeks before it's resolved". My most recent one was a gift subscription through KiwiCo, and I just filed yesterday since it was 16 days later. I don't know what's going to happen - I assume the same thing. I have the app downloaded on my chromebook, but, I go through the RR Shopping site anyway so that I can read the fine print before I place an order (like not using a gift card, or not using coupon codes, XYZ doesn't count, etc).

I hope that is the case! With my twins being infants and my sleep deprivation, I didn't even think of that.... 😔 I know I will have my dependent ID on me for sure when I'm flying. I will also have all three of my kids' birth certificates.

Good point. I'd forgotten you could pay to transfer them. At a penny a point, it only makes sense if you're REALLY close to purchasing a ticket and need just a few more points. Consider points are worth about 1.6 cents each, so you're almost buying them. When they have sales, you can buy them for below 1.8 cents per point if I recall... but even then, it rarely makes sense unless you have a specific flight in mind and just need to top off. Don't forget that points flights don't accrue more points, so you get about a 10% rebate on every revenue paid flight.... and one more step towards A-list.

@TFLY Agree, to only some extent. I've not figured out how SWA GA is dropping the ball on this one on every single flight. We are told to line up by the silly silver posts, yet nobody does and the GA does nothing to correct it. ME AS G.A. "If you're lining up by the ticket scanner and not in the designated area, I won't scan your ticket." Please line up in the designated area/line." That could actually work with distancing, but then again, it is nullified once you get past the GA and are in a line trying to get on the plane. I'm A list so I am always one of the first on, and I can't figure out how the 6-8 people in front of me cause a backup from the get go....wth, all the seats are open just sit down already.

While airlines tout on-board mask mandates and pre-flight symptom checks, it's still easy for people with COVID-19 to get on a plane. they boarded a flight from San Francisco after knowingly testing positive. While local officials have not confirmed the death was due to COVID-19, both passengers said. L Brands Aces

I have taken the "Rewards for Opinions" surveys. I was suspended, for no reason, after 897 RR Points. I have been a loyal Southwest Airlines customer from way back to 1983. I tried to get an answer of why I was kicked off, no response. Good Luck with your surveys.

Is this possible to still earn enough points? Through buying flowers for example? Or something? I myself am only 5,000 points from a CP pass. But someone linked this helpful info in another thread so it looks like the only way would be if I took a flight? As my statement close date was Dec 10 and I am still off by about 5,000. https://www.southwest.com/html/rapidrewards/eoy-tier-communication.html Is the info in the above link on processing times etc not true then?

@gsking wrote: "airframe isn't inherently airworthy without software intervention. " Plenty of planes are much less airworthy without a computer flying them. Most modern planes. Of course they have more redundancy. Most of the reason they put in the MCAS is for flyability/ similarity to older models, and for avoiding a small portion of the stall envelope. The plane is perfectly flyable without software. It just takes a smarter pilot to avoid stalling. Just like the smarter pilots who disabled MCAS when it malfunctioned. Much like traveling under Covid, it's a risk analysis. Just BETWEEN the two crashes, there were over 150,000 Max flights. That's pretty good odds... about 10x better than a healthy person dying of Covid. So if you're that worried about the Max, you're best staying home. Unfortunately, the plane is not perfectly flyable without MCAS. If it was, then the simple solution would be to remove MCAS. They're not removing MCAS. More accurate would be to say that, without MCAS it's flyable in an emergency, if the pilots have the correct training, and also the strength needed to physically operate the trim wheel. Please don't mistake my concern for "worry," I'm well aware of the odds involved. I'll wait until I've learned more before deciding if, with regards to the MAX, they're acceptable to me. Luckily, I'll have other options available, at least for a while, that will negate any misperceived need to "stay home." 😉

@Deputy-Cartman Honestly, I doubt you're going to get any sympathy in this forum. I'm not sure why you're entire focus, once becoming ill, wasn't put towards canceling or delaying your trip. Most of all during COVID. You understand that even the slightest cough potentially means you might be quarantined for 14 days. Not that we don't care, we do, but unless you can provide us with the requested documentation in regard to showing us another airline that will 100% refund your money after you fail to board and not cancel, then we will join you in the fight.

It's not a scam, but what's likely is that you did not read the terms and conditions of your offer. So many people think that they will receive points immediately after doing X but the reality is you won't receive your points for a billing cycle or two - per the user above, it takes 2 billing cycles, but this may vary by offer. --Jessica

thanks for the answer! though it seems a bit odd that the site doesn't really show that they were explicitly added to your account, just that you just happen to have more flights/points for a-list/companion pass progress if you look at your rewards page.
