The Southwest "Flight Schedules" page is also helpful if you want to see all of the flights available during any given week (the link I embedded is for the week of July 7-13 as an example). When the page loads use your web browser's search function within the page to look for "Nonstop" and you should be all set.

@TheMiddleSeat, My recent experience was that the parties with the same confirmation number were checked in simultaneously but were NOT given sequential numbers. 2 groups of 2 = 4 people on 2 confirmation numbers. No EBCI. 3 were together in the A group and my youngest 15 y/o niece was in the late B group. I would not have believed it if my sister hadn’t sent me screen shots. It happened with all connections on a RT so 4 flights. I had to go back and make sure I didn’t buy EBCI for 3 but not 4. I can’t post the screen shots without showing their names so I cannot show you the proof (no photo editing tricks known by me). Fortunately they were able to save a seat but I was really surprised. Just not her day, and of course, endless teasing by her 2 older sisters.

Getting a voucher that covers the entire cost of your flight sounds like fair compensation to me. You could contact Southwest Customer Relations, explain the situation and see if they will offer more. --TheMiddleSeat

Yes, when you arrive in FLL you will need to clear customs. You'll deplane, go through the first layer of customs where your passport is checked, then get your bags before exiting the customs area. I'm not familiar with the layout in FLL, but some airports have a dedicated area in/around customs for you to recheck your bags for the final leg of your trip other airports require you to go to the general check-in area. As your bag is already tagged with the destination it's usually a quick drop off process. In your case, 90 minutes should be plenty of time, but there are lots of variables including the waiting line in customs, if your first flight is on time, what the exact bag recheck process is, and wait time to go through security again in FLL. Southwest wouldn't sell the connection if it didn't think you would be ok. Have a great time in Jamaica! --TheMiddleSeat Did this or any other comment in the thread answer your question? @scottgrk wrote: That’s exactly what I did. It does seem strange. This is the message I got via Twitter: “...Our Reservations system can only process one fare type per reservation, so a Senior fare would have to be booked on its own reservation....” Anyways, I’m happy that I got a prompt explanation, and even more stoked at how ripper you cobbers are in the community pages 😁 It's a bit confusing, but that's not completely correct (obviously). 😉 If you book a reservation for a single person, you can of course have multiple fare types. For example, WGA on the outbound and BS on the return. People do this all the time. If you book a reservation for multiple "adults," you can do the same thing. The limitation is that each person must have the same fare type per flight. (You can't have one person on WGA and another on BS on the same flight.) This is probably where the confusion comes from. However, if you book an "adult" and a "senior" you can have each on a different fare type. And, oddly, it works even if the "senior" isn't actually on a Senior Fare -- you can choose any available fare type for the "senior." Note that all of the "adults" must be on the same fare per flight, and all of the "seniors" must also be on their own same fare -- although those fares can be different between the "adults" and "seniors." It's an odd system, but that's not totally unexpected for Southwest. 😉

If you do, you'll have to call after travel to have the expected Rapid Rewards points moved to the correct account, and you won't receive PreCheck (if applicable). Your best bet is to contact Southwest -- via email as mentioned earlier, or Twitter for the quickest reply.

Yes, through passengers can move to any available seat after non-through passengers deplane. As A1 you still got your choice of seat before A2 and everyone else boarding at your place of departure so there is still a benefit to the upgraded boarding position. In this particular case your expectations were just different than what the actual situation was. --TheMiddleSeat

@Brandy4roussel Sorry to hear your bags are lost I hope they are found and returned to you soon. In addition to calling the number provided by @TheMiddleSeat you can visit the website on your delayed baggage report and send a message there on that portal and they can assist that way. I recommend you keep your receipts for clothes and Necessities you may purchase that way you can request reimbursement through the online portal and hopefully they will help you. -Blake

I always start with the low fare calendar, this is a link for November 2019 flights from IND - TPA. It looks like even on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving there are Wanna Get Away fares available -- the least expensive one showing now is a nonstop 5:35 AM departure, the next least expensive is a 7:50 PM departure for a nonstop flight that lands at 10:05 PM.

We have had 7 family members & friends flying SW in the last week. Flights were cancelled at last minute, delayed 4 or more hours & a stop added to a nonstop flight! What is going on Southwest?! I have a nonstop flight on June 5th & have lost all faith in Southwest at this point! I think we as customers deserve better than this & some explanations! I have 4 family members delayed 4 hours as we speak, waiting for their flight out of Phoenix. Does anybody have any insight on this?

My husband was with me and boarded with his A section boarding pass while I held B section. When I presented my valid printed boarding I was denied boarding. The gate agent offered NO help. Computer showed I had been rebooked on another flight. Needless to say I was emotionally upset with my husband on board and I’m denied boarding. Finally, someone from SW jumped in before the plane door closed and figured out the problem and I got on the last minute. My husband is very upset and wants to cancel all relations with Southwest. Sorry you ran into trouble, and are frustrated. As it turns out you were not denied boarding as you were able to board your scheduled flight. I can only assume you were rebooked because you were "late" to your connecting flight (you did say you made a mad dash to the gate ). In the end, a Southwest did what was neessary to get you on your flight. As themiddleseat said, if you desire to file a complaint, contact cstomer relations via one of the methods mentioned. Exterior dimensions are what airlines measure, but don't measure the wheels. Suitcase manufacturers design suitcases to fit airline regulations and yours is right at 62". Your bag is fine. On a side note, it would be rather funny to watch an airline open your suitcase, dump your stuff, then measure the inside of your bag. --TheMiddleSeat Did this or any other comment in the thread answer your question? @dissatisfied999 wrote: Beware flying SWA! I flew standby and was given a confirmed boarding pass by SWA, out of Houston airport, with confirmed destination Kansas City. Flight had 1 stop with no plane change. SWA forced me off the planeduring the stop, in Albequerque, and refused me a flight to Kansas City until 24 hours later on SWA. I was stranded in Albuquerque overnight, and there was great need to reach Kansas City due to hospitalization of loved one with terminal cancer. SWA in Albeq offered me no assistance, hotel, food or even drink. I was forced to purchase a ticket on an alternate airline to get me out of Albeq the next morning. When I submitted this issue to SWA customer service, I was told too bad. SWA won't reimburse me for cost of other carrier's ticket. So, SWA issues a confirmed boarding pass to final destination Kansas City, and then lands me in Albeq and says 'we changed our mind, too bad', and dumps me in Albeq, forces me to find my own way home asap, and refuses to honor cost of my forced flight on another carrier to Kansas City. Spread the word - Be wary of flying SWA!! I hope there wasn't some mixup with the communication, I don't think the wording should have been "confirmed" for that ABQ-MCI leg. Lessons learned for anyone else trying similar: Standby on a connecting flight should be considered for the risk of that second leg - try to find out how many open seats there are if standby, or else double-check that you are confirmed for all segments. If there is a risk on a second segment, try to get stranded somewhere with more options to get to your destination. Hopefully the situation doesn't repeat itself for you, but for anyone else out there considering a standby with connection.

I'm not familiar with the bag you mentioned, but are you aware that the under seat storage area varies depending on which seat you're in? Aisle seats have the least room underneath. The pic below helps illustrate the difference (aisle is on the right). Also, while your bag may fit underneath a middle or window seat, I've never put much faith in any claims like these made by baggage makers.

As @dfwskier explained the funds are only available for the original ticketed passengers. If I read your message correctly you had purchased tickets for the grandchildren AND for you and your wife. If you canceled your ticket too you should have travel funds in the amount of one ticket that you can use and the same amount for your wife to use. Your post implied all funds were now in your grandchildren's names which is not correct. --TheMiddleSeat

Many parents, including myself, would be irritated if a 12 or 13 year old had to travel as an unaccompanied minor so it's certainly a situation every parent has to evaluate. Considering the child is only checked on occasionally during flight and there's not really much else to the service I don't see why it would be necessary for my child. Southwest's unaccompanied minor service also does not allow for connections that involve a plane change which could be a limitation for some parents if kids older than 11 were required to travel as unaccompanied minors. --TheMiddleSeat

Even other routes seem to be placed into the airline superhighway that would see Grand Canyon on the right hand side for several of my trips to Las Vegas as well from further north. No guarantee, I'm not sure what other factors, weather, etc. could influence the route but it seems that a frequent route is to the south of the canyon.

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you, but please let us know if you try doing it and how it goes. --TheMiddleSeat I'm not sure there is an opportunity to have that added. I recently used a gate pass on the other guys at O'Hare and I don't remmber being offered to present my Global Entry card, although I did fly them once last year to Canada so they would have had my KTN if they looked me up from driver's license. They did however send me through their priority checkpoint. Southwest may be able to have you use the Fly By, if not TSA Pre. (Southwest can allow Fly By, TSA must allow Pre - since you aren't paying TSA fees on a gate pass that seems less likely?) But bring your card and ask anyway, while allowing some extra time.

It's been a long time since I checked a bag, so I don't know for sure, but in the distant past airlines put sticky tape on one of the walls of the scale thus providing a silhouette of a suitcase.. The tape approximated the maximum size allowed, and I guess assumed a standard width for the third of the three measures. If the bag was obviously too big, it got noticed. Southwest doesn't nickel and dime you. Thus I suspect that if your bag is an inch too big, you'll be fine.

I too have had luck getting one other person through the fly by lane when only one of the two has status. I highly doubt TSA cares who uses the lane, and most of the time I have used it the lanes merge at the ID check point so as to make it impossible to tell which line you came from. Yes, you will inevitably irritate someone in line for "cheating" the system. --TheMiddleSeat

According to this thread from April you should be ok. Gate checking an item does not impact what you can carry on so one smaller bag and a personal item would still be ok to carry on. https://www.southwestaircommunity.com/t5/General-Travel-Policies/Collapsable-Wagon/m-p/90189/highlight/true#M7320 --TheMiddleSeat

@SWDigits wrote: From a mathematical perspective the easiest benefit to quantify is the bump in the earning bonus from 25% to 100% on your qualifying flights. There is also theoretical quantifiable benefit to the "Free inflight WiFi" if it worked as advertised. Other quick thoughts. I think it's implied that you are considering other carriers, so it really depends on schedule convenience, your experience with Southwest versus the experience you'd get elsewhere, pricing, etc. The free wifi was hard for me to put a number on - it would be convenient to have free access on multiple devices - but in the meantime I have many flights where I never buy it at all, or if I do for business travel then I would reimburse it anyway so it isn't an out of pocket reduction but it is still good to save the clients $8. Side note suggestion - what if we could buy wifi in advance with our ticket for easier reimbursement purposes... Anyway, back to the topic, I had a scenario two years ago where I was in range of preferred, but would have had to take some discretionary flights on my own to reach the higher level. I penciled it out at $0.02/point + wifi balanced against the out of pocket, and ended up not going after it. However since I do fly Southwest whenever possible, I certainly would go for it on trips that I was going to take anyway - it's a bit academic as I don't shop the other guys very often anyway, or at least I rarely did when I had companion pass. Even now I'm in a mode where I want to get companion pass back, so unless the cost was far out of proportion I'd take the Southwest flight anyway. My tip would be when you are getting close to consider taking a flight that you would otherwise make as WGA and upgrade it to BS to get the 12x points by incurring the additional incremental cost. The out of pocket to buy one or two BS fares at the end on your own will be much higher than incrementally upgrading a few flights that you'd be partially reimbursed for. Or if you are able to reimburse a BS flight, then take one but it doesn't fit my usual guidelines to do that unless it was last minute travel and that's all that was available.
