When you make your reservation, make sure to specify that you require wheelchair assistance. Then, when you arrive at the airport, verbally alert the Customer Service Agent or Skycap that you need assistance so they can verify it against your reservation. The wheels do count in our bag size dimensions. If it's really close, it will probably be fine for you to bring onboard. If it is too big, our Customer Service Agents will simply gate check it for you, no problem.
There is no limit to your carryon bag weight. If you can carry it, and you can lift it, you can bring it!

Customers traveling with infants are allowed to check one stroller per infant without charge (in addition to the free baggage allowance). A baby item can be substituted at no charge on a one–for-one basis in place of one of the two pieces of the free baggage allowance.

On November 1 last year, we launched the Language of Destination/Origin (LODO) program, which allows a LODO-qualified Flight Attendant to be scheduled as a working Crew Member on a flight. The LODO Flight Attendant is expected to deliver bilingual Hospitality to all our Customers and must understand the international policies and procedures, know the resources provided on international flights, and keep up with any changes made to the policies and procedures.
Unfortunately, we don't have LODO in place for Puerto Vallarta (PVR) flights at this time, but we are working to continue adding cities to the program.

Glad to hear you got booked, but I'm sorry about the trouble doing it online. I haven't received any notices of multiple reports of folks having difficulty booking travel to Cuba from a domestic location, which means it is probably an isolated incident. If it happens again, contact our Customer Relations Department at 1-855-234-4654 so we can walk through the booking path with you and identify where the problem is occurring.

If your ESA is too large to fit under the seat, we can accommodate you in the bulkhead (front row of the cabin) where the animal will have enough room. Also, you have the option of purchasing an extra seat to ensure enough room for you and your ESA, and we'll refund the seat after you've completed travel.

We recommend purchasing your visa online prior to departure to the airport.You can also call CTS at (800) 617-1902 (Monday-Friday, 8 am-8 pm EDT) for assistance or to answer any visa related questions. You will pick up your Cuba visa on your day of travel inside the Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) or Tampa (TPA) airport at a CTS counter located at checkin or at your departure gate. Customers who do not purchase their Cuba visa online with CTS prior to arriving at the airport can purchase their Cuba visa on their day of travel at CTS ticket counters located inside the Ft. Lauderdale or Tampa airport.

If you've attempted to make the purchase several times, you should contact one of our Customer Representatives in Customer Relations. Southwest Airlines is pleased and honored to serve all members of our military, both active and nonactive, and your son is no exception.
We waive the overweight/extra bag charge for active military because oftentimes they are traveling with their equipment, or with supplies they are required to have with them in addition to their personal belongings, and we don't feel it's right to penalize them for those extra items.
That said, we think travel should be affordable for everyone, and that's why we allow every Customer to check two free bags. We're proud of this policy and we hope you and your family have an opportunity to take advantage of it soon!
