Maybe at a minimum they can issue you a luv voucher for the cost of EB check in if not a refund this situation reminds me of the 1st year I earned a list I bought EB for the return when I would have been A List unnecessarily I reached out and they refunded me (6 years a go)

Being allowed to get off is usually up to the ops agent working the flight that would be boarding. If you arrive early on your 1st leg of your flight your chance of getting off is higher if your late your probably going to be told no because as soon as the last person is off the plane boarding begins and sometimes a plane will turn in 25min. You can always explain your situation to the FA when the 1st flight arrives and they can ask the ops agent
If you get off bring your ID with you as that will be required to get back on the plane

If you do the COS extra seat (customer of size) you will be able to preboard that way you can put the paper on the seat next to you that says seat reserved. You will need to tell the other passengers that the seat is taken if they ask is anyone sitting there. On my flight from Vegas yesterday a guy tried to start an argument with a person who did the COS extra seat policy.
Also I recommend buying the seat proactively because if the flight is full you may not be able to get the seat. Some agents will oversell some won't from what I have seen lately from others using the policy at check in.

They have been able to resend me a voucher before as long as it was originally a voucher issued through email (not airport issued)

Just curious when you say the reservation shows up in your account are you able to click on the reservation and see all the details? I've had some reservations show up in my account but when I click to view them I'm told this reservation has been cancelled (ones I did truly cancel they just got stuck in my account for a day or 2)
You might try to open the reservation just in case because you don't want to end up without a ticket

I was denied being able to get on an earlier flight on Friday after standing at the counter for an hour and I'm A List preferred as well. The agent wanted to blame the system but magically after the flight I wanted pushed she was able to hand me a boarding pass to another flight which then had it's own maintenance issues. I will say i was not happy and I'm currently waiting to see what SW has to say because that's one of the main benefits of ALP. I was booked direct no third party/company booking

Unfortunately something failed and created issues for passengers checking in for flights I was one of those with issues as well but luckily i have A List so I was automatically checked in before the technology issue occurred.
When the issue happened southwest posted a travel advisory on the app and website the agents on the phone don't always get a lot of information during these times because those behind the scenes are busy trying to fix the issue and they don't want to say issue will be fixed in 2 hours when it could take 5 hours
Stuff happens you could always pay for upgraded boarding at the gate and maybe email southwest after travel is complete to see if they can help make it right

You could change to the 10:15am 1 stop no change or the 5pm non stop for free since they made a change to your reservation.
Currently there is a pilot shortage so southwest had to cut a bunch of flights from the summer schedule. They make these changes as early as possible to give you time to change plans if needed.

Once a delay hits 30min or longer it will send you the notice based on how you chose to be contacted when you bought your flight this could be at 8am for an 8pm flight a lot can happen in 12 hours in this example. The fine print always says to arrive as if the flight is on time because things do change.
You could also check the app throughout the day to see if the time has changed or use websites like flightawre
Airlines don't send hey your flight is not delayed anymore messages because it will cause confusion should it be delayed again

I've had several 35min connections in ATL and as long as my 1st flight isn't late I've made it everytime. The longest walk I've made on SW is from C3 to C25 no train or terminal changes unlike other airlines in ATL

Was the reservation actually canceled or did you end up paying the $1100 and become a no show where you lose the value of your flights as well.
Southwest has no cancel fees and during IROPS (delays with a missed connection) no fee to change a flight (no cost to change ever but in this case no fare difference collected) if the delay was minor they may make you pay a fare difference to change flights but unfortunately I'm afraid you got scammed.
The only other thing I can think of is did you end up talking to the southwest vacations team which is awful from what I hear. Was it a package booking

If your kids are 6 or younger you can board between the A and B boarding groups if this is the case I wouldn't spend the money on Early Bird check in because you could potentially buy a B boarding position depending on how many buy EB on your flight and you would board before that paid position
If your kids are over 6 years old You could buy EB for 1, 2, or all 3 of you and that will improve your boarding position (as already suggested)
Option 3 would be check in at exactly 24 hour mark and if your over a mid B boarding position you can try and pay for upgraded boarding at the gate which is $30-$50 a person per flight (connections not included) this will get you in the A 1-15 group this will get you a great boarding position while EB you could still end up as a mid B

Once you type in one name on the reservation (pick any name on the reservation it won't matter which one you enter) and enter the confirmation number and click check in everyone will be checked in.

So vouchers don’t cover taxes so you would have to do something tricky
first book a bogus flight for say $250 apply the 2 vouchers and pay the taxes
next immediately (within 24 hours) cancel that ticket and request a refund for the $50 or whatever the total is. The vouchers will now be a travel fund held under the confirmation number you are canceling (remember it)
now go book the flight you want using a voucher and the travel fund and you will then be able to use all those vouchers.

In the past TPA and SRQ are considered sister airports and usually they would let you change to one vs the other. You might have to call and get another agent but I have made this type of change before when schedule changes or weather waivers appeared.
Southwest has a lot of new agents so not all of them know they are co terminal (sister airport)

Did you not notice a bunch of people stand up and leave or a bunch of people show up all at once that’s usually a sign that a gate change occurred and then I would look at the app or the departure board because sometimes things change so fast the gate agent could miss the change because they could be busy working other flights when a change was made.

I feel like the only way you could end up with that C boarding pass buying EB is if everyone on the flight bought it which i doubt.
I would send Southwest an email by clicking the contact us link at the bottom of this page to ask for a refund. Usually the people at the airport won't be able to refund EB fees you would need to speak to customer relations.
