Hello the best thing to do is check in at the 24 hour mark before the flight using the confirmation number and usually it will give you numbers in order like A50-60 or B3-29 as a couple examples sometimes people may get split based on other checking in at the same time but usually you will be together since you will be on one confirmation number. Usually I would recommend EB check in for groups but since you did book through southwest group reservations you can't add EB check in. So as long as you check in at the 24 hour mark you should be able to get a good set of boarding number for seats near each other now you may not all be together you should be able to get several rows towards the back but there are no assigned seats. It's also possible that some may get A boarding while others get B just tell those with A to save some seats. Hope this helps Blake

(By drinks I mean orange juice, hot chocolate, etc. in the case that we didn’t get to finish them during the flight). Since the policy is to collect all service items, I don't know if Southwest will have a separate policy about drinks since you normally wouldn't have any left. Speculation that if you have the little clear cup as you deplane the FA will ask you to despit it in the trash bag. If a soft drink or juice ended up in your personal to-go cup I don't see major objections. Alcohol would be restricted in most places that you can't carry it around, so that is against the rules even in your own cup, or actually you aren't supposed to take the little bottles off either. The FA will prevent this by not giving you the bottle cap instead you get the stir stick in there.

@CharityMciver45 The best thing to do is set up a profile on the southwest careers website that way you can check and see when they post the next flight attendant opening but at this time there is no way for me to send you the application and you won't be able to apply until the position is available as that is southwests policy. with this being said if you could please edit your post to remove your email address that is for your own protection. Hello I would recommend getting the bulk head seats as there is more leg room so you can stick your feet out a little bit more you may not have a tray table though as that depends on the plane I have seen some bulk head seats with tables that fold out of the arm rest while other planes that don't have a table if that makes a difference for you. Also be sure to talk to the ticket counter about pre boarding I would recommend you do that and then you would not need to pay for an upgrade. If you can't preboard for whatever reason then I would pay for the upgraded boarding (for 1 of you) which is sold at the gate if available to get you A1-15 ($30-$50 depending on flight) and then you could save a seat for your mom. Hope this helps Blake

That's awful that people cheat the system. If you see that someone is ahead of you and should be behind you, let them know they are out of order. I've encountered this in one of Southwest's newer markets. the people just didn't know. Maybe Southwest can program its system to flash red when someone boards out of turn. Then again, it could that some passengers are allowig a mom to board with her children. Its a tough situation. One of the biggest postives is the speed of boarding a Southwest flight.

I've always been a person that likes to learn multiple areas, so I may be of assistance to anyone and everyone. Maybe you can talk to your HR department or a super senior of your who is atleast 3 levels above you and discuss the ethics you need to follow or maintain in order to advance in the field. Ideally this would be the best way since they would have the best insights about how to go about this scenario.

Hello i would recommend calling customer relations at 855-234-4654 or messaging them on Twitter If you didn't finish the trip say you booked AUS to MCO by way of HOU If you didn't take the connecting flight you may not be get points since the travel was not complete according to the actual reservation but if you call or message on Twitter they can look and see about getting you the points. From personal experience I had a time where I didn't take the connecting flight and I didn't get the points because the flight was not complete when I called I was told I won't get credit since travel was not completed. Hope this helps Blake

Hello i think they do the 4 hours because if It sits around longer maybe it's more of a chance it gets misplaced or if a bad apple gets a hold of your bag and goes though it (hopefully that doesn't happen). although I do wish I could check a bag before the 4 hours in that case but I think the policy is just to protect your bag. Another idea is If your bag doesn't have liquids you could carry it past security and check it later or if you are traveling with multiple people and want food from past security send one person through to get food and bring it out while the others wait with the bags if one of you have pre check or the fly by lane I would send that person as you can go through security more than once even though it may be a hassle. hope this helps Blake

I'm sorry the policy was not explained well to you on the phone allow my to try and explain little better When a wanna get away ticket is purchased it is refundable for 24 hours after that if you need to cancel the funds would be held as a travel fund for the travelers on the reservation so if your ticket cost $200 and there were 2 of you ($400 total) each of you would have $200 to use for future trip within 1 year of the original ticket purchase (some think it's from when you cancel but it's not) also when a new ticket is purchased with the credit that new reservation takes the expiration date of the travel fund so if you didn't take that flight as well your expiration date will go back to the original ticket date not a year from the new booking which throws people off as well but that's the way that works. The credit from the canceled ticket can only be used on the person who was ticketed it is non transferable and you can't use all of the credit on 1 of the 2 people each credit is passenger specific even if you paid and not the only person you traveled with. It's also important to note each passenger must complete travel by the expiration date or the credit won't work. One thing to keep in mind is they have this policy because other airlines will charge you to cancel a ticket so this is Southwest's way to get you to come and fly again or you lose the funds. Hope this helps Blake if this helps and answers your question Please take a moment and click the "Accept as Solution" button on the comments you found most helpful, this will be a big help to any future Community Members who have a similar question!

The satelite bandwidth available for 2-way internet service is limited, which is why the service quality varies so drastically. If there are too many people using it, it slows to a crawl. (I've actually given up on even trying anymore, after getting burned many, many times.) It's also very expensive. Some reports I've read suggest that Southwest offers it at a net loss, just because to be competitive they have to at least appear to offer a service that business travelers require. There are some announced wifi improvements looming on the horizon -- I certainly hope they help with overall connectivity. But until that bandwidth opens up, or becomes cheaper, I very much doubt we'll be seeing any of the great suggestions made here offered.

I share in your frustration. I paid for early bird on a flight from St Louis to Nashville & checked in online exactly 24 hours in advance & was B17. This is not what I expected or paid for. Early bird should not be an unlimited offer, it has to be limited to be meaningful. Also borderline unethical to sell an unlimited amount of early bird check ins on one flight.

I flew Japan Airlines in 2010. I don't remember much. I guess that means I need to fly them again?! I flew Emirates in 2013. Very impressive! The women greeted us in business suits with skirts and head pieces. The men greeted us in business suits with vests. (They took their jackets off for the duration of the flight.) They handed us wash clothes to wash our hands as soon as we sat down. They also gave us stickers to use for service. One sticker to receive service and one sticker for "do not disturb". Based on what I wanted at the time, I put the sticker on my seat and the crew responded accordingly. What a fun way to take the awkward "Do I wake her up or do I let her sleep?" out of the food service. I've heard amazing compliments about Singapore Airlines and hope to fly them one day. (If you haven't been to Singapore, it is a MUST! I've been to more than 25 countries in the last seven years. I can easily say Singapore is one of my favorite countries and is, by far, my favorite Asian country.) But in the end, Southwest still has my heart. Cheers! ILV2fly

If not I would still try to fill one out as soon as possible as they have time limits on which they will be responsible for damage Hope this helps Blake

@Mmck42 wrote: All fair replies, thanks folks. Great to see a healthy forum here. I'm honestly not looking for any special treatment or rule bending, but just wanted to warn others, as I hadn't noticed this on other promotions (Southwest or otherwise...and I just checked Marriott Hotels, for example, who does require one to stay within the promotional period, and register prior to any stays, but NOT to book a stay only after registering - that's a SW one-off as far as I can gather). @DancingDavidE - I did pull ahead two round trip flights to see family to fit within the promotion timeline, and chose Southwest as my (and additional family members) carrier, despite a higher cost. So yes, I did do something differently than I would have otherwise, including gaining a sense of loyalty respect from SW for noticing that in the past 6 months I've been choosing them more often than the other carriers I fly. That's fair @Mmck42, thanks for clarifying. There was another thread on this topic a while back, and there were a lot of people asking a similar question and atlhough many of us thought the intent was certainly new bookings with register then book, the wording wasn't clear and I'm sure you weren't the only one that went ahead with previously scheduled flights. It's too bad that you didn't catch that thread, one of the people called to confirm and had a definitive statement that it was "register then book" and I don't know if they charged ahead without re-booking or not based on the language, or if they re-booked based on that call to Southwest.

Those were the days! Unfortunately, Southwest stopped sending coupons each time a free flight was earned many, many years ago, when they transitioned to the points-based system they now use. Currently, Southwest sends 4 drink coupons after completion of each set of 10 one-way paid flights (points bookings do not count). Assuming you have the setting to "opt in" turned on, I'd recommend reaching out to Customer Relations -- your best bet is via Twitter. FYI: Chase recently started again sending drink coupons to cardholders on "milestone" anniversaries -- 5 years, 10, 15, & 20 (used to be annually, then nothing for 2017, now back but only on milestones).

I think the approach is through the A-list and Companion Pass to build retention. Do the other airlines do this? I don't speak for Southwest, but I'd expect they still feel pretty good if they get 80% to 90% or more of frequent flyer business. The industry isn't setup in a way that any one airline can be cheapest on every route, I'm sure there are some city pairs out there than will be favorable to the other guys. If price is the only measure, then do what you have to do.

Hello one way to get mobile boarding passes for everyone is to book individual reservations of course you would have to check in each reservation one by one but then that way you can do mobile boarding passes for everyone if you would like. I am sure they are working on mobile boarding passes for multiple passenger reservations I just imagine it takes several system changes but I do think it would be a nice feature for southwest to add in the future but at this time I have not heard of any changes to mobile boarding passes. Be aware that all travel must be completed (not just booked) by the expiration date. Don't drop the voucher on the ground at the airport - literally anyone could pick it up and use it. They would be jerks for doing that without trying to find you or turn it in to Southwest since your name will be on there, but I'm sure it happens.
