Anyone who swears at an employee trying to do their job deserves nothing, no apology, nothing. Be grateful you were allowed to fly. --TheMiddleSeat I dunno. If someone were to put my life at risk -- be they an employee of a company or not -- I'd be pretty foul mouthed too. I think if my life was at risk, the last thing on my mind would be making sure what comes out of my mouth is courteous and non-vulgar. But, heck, that's just me.

Honestly, if anyone does not feel safe flying nowadays - for whatever reason - don’t fly. There are mask requirements. They are not being enforced. By anyone, city, state, local governments - to say nothing of airlines. There are social distancing requirements. They are not being enforced. By anyone. Because it’s just not possible or practical. Especially on an airplane even with the middle seat empty. Again, understand the realities, and if you feel uncomfortable, then don’t fly.

I haven't had to wear a mask on a SWA flight since the mask "requirement" went into effect. As others have said, there is no way for SWA to enforce their mask "requirement" -- in fact, it would arguably violate federal aviation law if they did. And because of that, or maybe in light of that, SWA admits that its own mask "requirement" has about as much teeth as an aardvark. Maybe less.

There no true “paper” tickets anymore, at least not in the traditional sense. Generally, you will receive a confirmation of your reservation from SWA via email, which serves as your ticket (based on your confirmation number). If you want a piece of paper you can just print that email and any gate agent will be able to look up your flight based on the confirmation number. Of course you still need to check-in and get your boarding pass, which you can download to your smartphone or print and present at TSA security. Enjoy your trip.

I don't need my airlines to be socially active. I need my airline to be on-time.

No one is enforcing the "requirement" on SWA flights. So if you feel like not wearing, don't.

Dispute it with your credit card company. Have your CC refund the money to your account, and let SWA fight it out with the CC company.

No one on SWA is enforcing the mask requirement. So if you feel like the requirement is "bogus" feel free not to wear one on the flight. It's ok. Nothing to get riled up about. I just flew twice in the past 3 days (post mask "requirement") and was completely mask-free during boarding and during the flight. So just relax.

The best time to buy is when your travel plans are confirmed. With SWA flexible cancellation and change policy, you can always switch to a lower fare after the fact.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/airline-news/2020/05/20/southwest-airlines-resuming-drink-snack-service-travel-memorial-day/5232612002/ From the article: Southwest Airlines will start serving in-flight snacks and drinks on Friday after a two month absence due to the coronavirus outbreak. But passengers won't be able to cash in one of the airline's coveted drink coupons: Booze is not back on the menu, at least yet. The airline is phasing service back in, starting with cans of water and a package of snack mix that includes pretzels, cheddar cheese squares and ranch bagel chips on flights of more than 250 miles, Southwest spokesman Brian Parrish said. Service won't yet resume on the airline's short hops.

@rjbeal4499 wrote: As Covid 19 is transmitted by aerosol and droplet transmission why do not airlines use the existing emergency oxygen masks for each passenger? This could slow the transmission risk to other passengers that are definitely NOT 6 feet away. Right. That makes all the sense in the world. Especially when there is an actual emergency, like a loss of cabin pressure. Then what'll we do? Who cares if we all die of asphyxiation, cuz at least we'll be safe from Covid-19. #HumanEvolutionHasFailedUs

@MRfliesSWA wrote: SWA needs to require passenger masks to board. They can use their undershirt if they have to or hold toilet paper over their mouth if necessary. Captains are the law on their ship. SWA prohibits particular batteries/quantities on board for heaven sakes. Boarding is prohibited due to obnoxious behavior, and there are all sorts of other requirements including cigarette ban, obnoxious music, and three bags in the cabin. They can be arrested for mutiny on departure if they won't cooperate - notify them when they are on the gangplank not to board if they won't cooperate. Passing out masks at the gangway for passengers whose mask broke, should be a service. IF Masks are in short supply, use SWA bandanas in the meantime. Notification can be done at on-line checkin and at the kiosk. Passengers who inevitably cough due to typical dry air or snack chip "down-the-windpipe will cause anxiety among passengers FOR SURE and can be asymptomatic carriers (most likely at least one passenger in 100 but likely more than 10 in 100 will be asymptomatic transmitters of the virus) Dr. Sanjay Gupta was on CNN concerned about breathe vapor for joggers and passer-bys alike! Can you imagine! Concern for breathe vapor outdoors! And the CEO does not even address the issue on a plane?! Air travel facilitated the spread of the virus across the world. Not requiring masks to baord threatens a high potential for a second economic shutdown and airline shutdown. Does the CEO have no concern for stock price and boycott? Social media and an Op-Ed is the next step to force immediate policy change. The consequence of an op-ed could be a public recognition to use the competition -an effective boycott. 71,000 views on SWA discussion board is signal enough. Act now You should really consider the science of wearing masks before pontificating about the necessity of masks. https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2020/04/commentary-masks-all-covid-19-not-based-sound-data?fbclid=IwAR0QpFp9tGQenxUYvOX2V2xEVWUamuD2UmlLN59vz5WE1csct7KmzOzApwI

I don't think lowering prices will actually spur demand, as the reduction in air travel is due more to medical and health concerns (real or not) as opposed to price sensitivity. In other words, even if SWA reduced airfares to zero dollars, it would not significantly impact the number of travelers. This article here has some interesting insight as to the plight of SWA overall. https://thepointsguy.com/news/southwest-airlines-is-betting-it-wont-need-140-737-jets-for-a-while/

Probably because SWA has no idea what its flight schedule and capacity will be like 10 months from now, and how much overall air traffic will resume to normal capacity.

Check back again Monday Most, if not all, airlines schedule flight changes on weekends, and usually Saturdays Why? Saturday nights are the ideal time for airlines to load schedule changes since it’s the quietest in terms of booking activity. With fewer people searching for flights, combined with the fact that airlines aren’t doing much flying on Saturdays, it makes sense that this is the preferred time to load schedule updates to the GDS, or global distribution system. Also,, When changes are filed, passengers with existing reservations are going to need to be notified and rerouted. By waiting for the quietest day and night of the week, these automated rebooking system won’t get overloaded. So long story short. Wait until Monday, or maybe even Sunday, and check the flight schedules again. Good luck
