This is obviously discrimination against skinny people. We should all boycott SWA immediately. #SkinnyLivesMatter

I think the most stupid thing is to debate the mask mandate. It's a federal law. Nothing to debate. You violate it, you get fined, cannot fly, or go to jail, or some combo of all three. What's there to debate?

No problem at all. All of the SW gates at LAX are literally within 1-2 minutes of each other. You could probably do more than just grab a sandwich (as another poster mentioned up above). You could probably grab a sit down meal and go to the bathroom and browse for some reading material before having to board.

I’m guessing it took more than 20 seconds for you to compose that email. Now you’ve let what amounted to a 20 second moment of inconvenience in your life and probably more than tripled the effect. And made it a major sticking point for you. Why? Life is too short and precious as it is.

MIA has self-tagging option, which allows you to print and tag your own bags and just drop them off at the designated spots at the airport (in your case, MIA) https://www.southwest.com/html/air/products/selftagging.html

I generally don't agree with posters that come on here and rant and rave, but in this instance these problems with delays and cancellations is all on Southwest as a company. Yes, weather plays a role, so does increased demand, but these cancellations and delays have become systemic within the Southwest system, as this article from Fool.com details: https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/07/04/southwest-airlines-flight-cancellations-mount-as-s/ I hope Southwest is able to work through both capacity and labor issues, but if it doesn't there will be many rough days ahead -- for both Southwest and its passengers. Which is something I think no one here wants to see.

Why didn’t you get up after the flight had taken off and you saw the middle seat unoccupied, and then simply switch to that open middle seat? i guess that would’ve showed them. But the again, life is short and so are most SWA flights. Sometimes it’s just better and easier to live and let live. Or in this case, fly and let fly.

Why not just book a new flight with your soon to expire travel funds, and then cancel that flight, which should then reset your time period to use your (now new) travel funds.

I don't get you. You're here ranting and raving about flying during the pandemic, yet you obviously flew during pandemic, because otherwise you wouldn't have earned the Companion Pass. I have the "Kettle" holding on line 1 for you, it's asking for its "Black" back.

Like I said I am no longer a customer of Southwest. Bye More snacks for me

@chgoflyer wrote: @Calkidd wrote: Southwest has implemented a good boarding process. Boarding ten passengers at a time allows some distancing. Can anybody explain why Southwest does not have a deplaning process which would also allow distancing as well. It does seem odd. The Southwest Promise specifically states coverage "from check-in to deplaning," and they do say: "Once the plane has landed, you are encouraged to stay seated until your row is clear to move into the aisle." But no one actually does anything on-board to help reduce the scrum of people that happens immediately following the bell. While it may be difficult to control the (bizarre) human nature at play, I do think an announcement by the FA would help. They could also have a de-boarding process where FAs direct each row individually, but that would increase FAs exposure risks, and also likely slow down the all-important turn. Nail meet hammer.

I don’t expect the airline to do anything so I have been moving my weekly flights to other airlines as much as possible to prevent the repeat of the same treatment. Does anyone else have a opinion. @dwyerhome wrote: My daughter and her husband and three young children flew yesterday August 4th on the only direct flight from Cabo San Lucas to Denver. The whole experience was a total Sh** Show. At least the middle seats were open but now I understand they are going to loosen their cleaning standards. There was no enforced social distancing at the boarding gate. Only two of her family had their temperature checked and she noticed many others were not checked. When she boarded a young couple sat across from her and the gentlemen was coughing and clearing his throat and blowing his nose profusely. Neither wore their masks. One flight attendant asked them to put their mask on which they did. Within minutes they took their masks off as the man continued to cough and blow his nose. No flight attendants said anything and my daugher had enough and asked them to put their masks on! Not sure they should have been allowed to board given his evident illness. Come on SW, you're better than this! Temperature checks? I've never seen temperature checks during the boarding process.
