Sorry to hear of the loss of something you treasure. Yes, way too much time has gone by and the chances of a return of them diminish. Something of that importance (I'm just assuming here) should have been a carry-on. And for the most part, I'm behind SWA that this isn't their wrongdoing, but seems to be the Airport personnel or the TSA.

@gsking Not sure how you strayed off-topic on the, "no alcohol" thread. But I will try and answer and move us back on track. I hear you about the Hawaii flights since negative tests are part of the equation. But that still doesn't mean that within the 3 days somebody isn't exposed and is a carrier, that's my only argument. Now to the alcohol issue. I don't have the definitive answer to that either, but agree with why do we punish the masses for the action of the others. However, I've always been an advocate for limiting alcohol purchase to one drink per flight, with the adjustment to longer non-stop, but with an appropriate time in-between. I've actually seen a guy, (must have been a west coast frat champion) get his beer and while the FA was giving the drinks to those seated next to him, slam it and give the FA the can, and asks, "when you get a chance can I get another one?" And on her next trip down the aisle, he is granted his request, about 3 minutes. In all, on a 2:20 min flight he had 3 IPA's (higher alcohol content) On that person's behalf, he never got loud or rude or anything like that, I'm just bringing it up to show there could be a time limitation between drinks.

@Sekhmet121 Thank you for your thoughts. I'm proud to be a part of the global clinical study that has no proved to have worked, that you're benefitting from as well, although refuse to contribute, but your choice. I'm all for vaccine passports, bring them on. I'll wave at you driving in your car 30,000 feet below and by statistics, are more likely to be in a crash than I am. But I wish that on nobody. And honestly, your sights will be much more rewarding on the ground than mine.

Not a dumb question. As stated, the internet is not free, wifi for music, TV, and Movies is. No headphones provided, bring your own, I buy mine at the dollar store as I lose them often and buy 3 at a time. You do have to download the SWA app to be able to connect to on-plane wifi as well. Service is hit and miss depending on the weather and planes your on.

@20477875843 It appears that damaged luggage seems to be the new attack of the week on SWA, so be it. I'm with the others, sorry for the loss of beloved baggage. But as I put ON THE OTHER POST about damaged baggage: I'm not going to dismiss you for using your money to buy whatever you want, good on you. But since the beginning of time (and a commercial of a gorilla just throwing bags onto a plane) it's known that accepting a plane ticket has many risks, one being damaged luggage should you check it, it's a no-brainer. The relief to that is that you can make a claim against the airlines and get reimbursed, however, it may be a drawn-out process. I will just give you my direction on the luggage issues since I care not about what people think of my luggage and don't place travel luggage on a fashion statement level. I buy a 10-15 dollar decent bag from goodwill. It helps out the Goodwill foundation which employees people that might not otherwise get a job. The bag normally lasts about 2-3 years and I'm really worry-free about if it ever becomes damaged. And since I shop often at Goodwill or other stores of this nature that benefit our Veterans, I'm in there often and not a trip just to buy luggage.

Well with the overwhelming increase in travel passengers this weekend, I'm very curious how the airlines, specifically SWA, are going to handle it. I'm sure we are going to see a spike in disgruntled complaints on the forum when passengers knowingly decided to fly on this first holiday weekend of freedom. I'm glad I didn't schedule a flight this weekend. So post your experiences.

@Melamona I'm just asking is this an infant seat (yes, it's been years since I've flown with an infant or purchased a car seat) Is it for when you get to your destination, or on the plane? I only ask because we encountered this on our last flight 2 weeks ago. Our granddaughter is 6 and uses an age-appropriate car seat when in a vehicle. So we thought we would take it on the plane as a carry-on and just so happen, to let her sit in it while flying. We were amazed, (and now informed) that we could carry it on, but she couldn't sit in it on the flight. We obviously don't travel much with children and now we know.

@bwallet @TheMiddleSeat I was wondering about, "coots," myself. I haven't used the toilets in that bathroom yet, but I do recall a bathroom that once I was done, I could soap, wash, and dry my hands all right next to each other. That was on my trip weeks ago.

@aprhansen I'm with you. For years, I've had the luxury of being an AList with a companion pass and my companion always being, for the most part, around B-20 to 40ish. Yes, you would think that a perk of the Business Select top dollar ticket would have this one perk. But since we A-Listers have only enjoyed the companion check-in at the same time we have for only months, that is something that is/will be looked at for your situation. As an A-lister, I found it more profitable to me, to not have to purchase Business select because I'm always at least A-30 or better. And until recently, was still sitting in the middle seat giving "peaceful" glares to look mean so nobody would sit next to me. Worked 100% of the time. You have done well to start the conversation, now if you've put this into SWA customer relations comments, you/we may start to see this as policy, and everyone is on the same page. My best to you my friend. And, FYI, I do travel on other airlines when applicable.

@5280Av8r It's been some time. I'm a runner, and El Paso, TX use to have a 15K race that would start in El Paso, run across the border into Mexico, and back to the USA. Since El Paso is a 4-hour drive from ABQ, I would take the one-way flight. I wouldn't think I could justify to myself to take a 7-8 hour flight that gets me where I'm going 3-4 hours later than I could drive, AND, have to get a rental car.

@5280Av8r Agree, and too small a market. PHX is just 2 hours away on Interstate the entire way. This is apples to oranges, but it's like asking for SWA to start going to Santa Fe, NM. In 15 min it could save me the 1-hour drive from Albuquerque.

@aprhansen Middleseat gave you the answer I was going to give. I'm still working my way around the point system, even after being a loyal flyer since 1997. In fact, I got the RR for the points and inadvertently was informed one year that I had met the A-List standard...lol. With that said, I'm finding it strange with getting a companion pass, you were in the area of getting an AList., but I guess that can happen. So maybe since you're flying and are able to get a companion, you could/should focus on the AList. And now you know the exact reason why you didn't get the sequential numbering, you should go and tell the first crew that let you get her on with you....THANK YOU again, they did do you a big favor. Hopefully, you continue to fly SWA, the companion pass by itself is still a great value by itself. And, you need to be on that phone at exactly 24 hours prior to boarding and check your daughter in first, (not you) you're already checking in, and I bet at worst, a B-30, and then just sit in the middle seat of a row, (works for me) as nobody will then sit down next to you by the time she gets on.

@TheMiddleSeat Never? Serious question, can you briefly tell me why? Just asking in case you have info I've not yet seen. I'm with you, I want them to be up in the air for some time before I get on one, but I think eventually I will do them. I'm sure I was on one in the past as much as I fly. Honestly, I never know what type of plane it is I'm on until the FA announces it over the intercom, or I by chance look into the info in the front pocket of the chair in front of me.

Just TMI on this issue because someone failed to be observant enough to know they can board before B1 and still get a decent seat, IF, they were an Alister. I'm saddened by the fact that anyone might have to endure any treatment that they feel is unavoidable, and I hope SWA might learn from this since there are actual employees that monitor this forum. Where I take issue is with someone who got on the plane early, and even being asked to move, still could have sat in a decent row of seats away from a mother and their infant child, yet have the gull to make even direct any dialog of criticism towards a child for their unintentional reaction to being fed.

About 4 years ago I set up an account for my grandson just for that one trip he flew with us. He has since taken 5 more trips with us, albeit, mostly on points, but of the 2 he didn't, he now has a one-way to somewhere for free. I've even (since I know the acct # and password) bought points for my other grandchildren from time to time to keep boosting points, (since points never expire) and they are all adding up. So at some point in the near future all 3 of the grandkids with the buying of points, and flights bought outright, should all have a round trip (wanna get away fare) to most places. Buying the points gets them points for flights and I get points from the credit card purchase as well. It's really a no-lose situation, IMO

Not sure what your issue is, I've never had that coming from Mexico. Is the other person with the same confirmation number? Mine is always my companion, and she has a different number so we check-in at the same time. However, SWA has gotten excellent at checking me in any way (ALister) And they now, for the past 6 flights, checked my companion in at the same time getting the next number in line.

@dfwskier For the life of me, I never remember what helps with what. But regardless, I have two trips to Palm Springs coming up, 2 trips to Dallas, and one to Tampa Bay, so that should be enough to help me out. I'm like you, and some flights are on points along with cheap fares, so takes a bit longer. I have had to do the Business Select one year to get the points because flights were limited that year as I flew more on points than paid. Now that points don't expire, I mix it up and use points only for the more costly flights.

@dfwskier Yep, that was supposed to read, I have 23/25 flights, not 15. So on my next trip that I pay for it will be a done deal. That is if I don't get it from partner points first, I'm actually almost there on that as well.

@bartpic I've been loyal to SWA since 1996 or earlier. It did take me about 4-5 years to make them my only airlines (except where they don't fly). Even so much I'm willing to drive from an airport near where I want to go. I've had issues with SWA, but in the long run, I've been loyal. I'm going to stay loyal for the foreseeable future as well.

@dfwskier This post is a bit old, so you might have a few more. Well, I have 23/15 flights I need for A-List after this weekend's trip to SPI. But I can't remember how many SWA gave me for the COVID. I've had about 8 of the trips moved, one that was going to Hawaii changed so much that I cancelled that one. I've found that the delays and late departures early in the pandemic was about zero, but have now returned to their normal 25%. But I still love SWA.

JUST FYI, I've enjoyed Southwest, even during these trying times of COVID. Has SWA had some hiccups for me in the past, yes. On my last trip this past weekend we were delayed going to Houston and on the way back we were delayed coming from SPI. Both frustrating, but I just didn't let it ruin either day.
