This is a great reminder to people that not every preboarder has a visible condition and folks shouldn't assume just because someone can walk easily down the jet bridge they are abusing preboarding. Thanks for sharing!

@chgoflyer good catch. In general though, there's nothing different about the check-in process that screams EBCI

@Bpaine what makes you certain EBCI didn't work for you? You still have to click the check-in button online on your app, you just don't have to do it at right at 24 hours prior to your flight as the system automatically assigns your boarding position prior to others who didn't purchase EBCI as previously mentioned. Only a small icon next to the reservation in your account indicates EBCI was purchased, everything else looks the same and a multitude of factors could give you a higher boarding number, but you still do better than non-status passengers that don't purchase EBCI.

The TSA agent was probably trying to save you some time and/or hassle since most people would prefer the lighter screening of PreCheck vs standard screening. Yes, having A-List status does allow you to use the priority line at the TSA checkpoint but it's still the standard screening. Personally, I always use PreCheck and only go in the priority line when PreCheck is closed. No need to carry a card, your status and PreCheck eligibility is all on your boarding pass. Remember, TSA is completely different than Southwest so TSA can occasionally give you a difficult time regarding your A-List status. Checking bags via Southwest's Fly By priority line is great and has never been a problem for me.

A rolling ice chest would need to be checked at the check-in counter, not gate checked. It would also need to be well sealed. I've seen them come out with normal suitcases and with the oversized items such as car seats and strollers so you might need to look in both places. Any special reason you need it to be gate checked? Anything inside that might be a security or safety concern?

While in general terms, the overhead should be ok, be warned if you're on a full flight there may be lots of folks pretty upset if you're taking up more than your share of bin space. I could see some irritated flyer trying to cram their suitcase on top of your dress or squishing your dress between two suitcases. Remember, not everyone will be super nice and caring about your dress. If you can place it nicely into a suitcase (either carry-on or checked) that would be my suggestion. Don't just assume that because the dress will lay in the overhead that you won't have any problems.

Well, checked baggage is treated like checked baggage. There are so many bags going on and off in such a quick amount of time that I wouldn't check anything and expect it to be treated differently. While I've never had any problems with how Southwest has treated my luggage, if you're worried I wouldn't check it. Any chance it meets the size requirements for carry-on? Southwest Airlines limits carryon bag dimensions to 10 x 16 x 24 inches.

Mary (@mdiprizio), I'm rather curious if any info can be found regarding the reason for the delay which might help your case with Southwest. Do you happen to have any of the flight numbers from the original reservation? Most important would be the flight # for the first flight taken (the one you said was delayed). As Southwest doesn't appear to go to NJ from MHT and there's a non-stop from MHT to MCO I'm struggling to find the info for your flights. Thanks!

Southwest does not, but you could bring one. I've used one on many Southwest flights and never had any issues. Just ask the folks sitting behind you nicely and give a brief reassurance that it won't affect them at all as you install it.

Check out Southwest's young traveler guide: https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/family/young-travelers.html It does say the child should have something for proof of age in addition to contact information for adults dropping off and picking up the child. The guide also talks about the escort pass which you can get to go to the gate with the child.

There appears to be frequent air service on regional airlines between the two cities for around $100/person each way. You could fly Southwest to Nassau then hop over to Freeport if that's cheaper than the other carriers you were looking at. For the more adventurous type with a flexible schedule I also found this gem http://www.mailboatbahamas.com that offers travel by boat. Good luck!

I've done the big Mexican resorts, the all inclusives, etc and now I'm looking for something much quieter, private, and relaxing and need some help figuring out where that is. Any suggestions? Willing to fly into any of the cities serviced by Southwest and do some traveling out of town to get somewhere more remote, preferably close to a beach. Looking at a 5-6 day trip. Any ideas for towns or even better, specific resorts or Airbnb type rentals? Gracias!

Hey @LindseyD I was rebooking a bunch of flights late Monday night (June 5, starting around 1130pm Mountain time) and ran into the oops - this price no longer available error message a handful of times. I figured there was only a limited number of the newly loaded sale fares and someone else had grabbed it right when I was also trying to, but perhaps there's something bigger going on. Thanks for looking into it! I stayed up way too late that night getting an early start on the sale.

Assuming that you are looking at purchasing Wanna Get Away fares/tickets just purchase an additional ticket for the infant with their name listed as the passenger. If you are looking at Anytime fares/tickets you can call a request the child discount, but it will not be cheaper than the Wanna Get Away fare. Purchasing Wanna Get Away tickets for children also means you do not need to provide proof of their age as you would have to do with an Anytime fare and TSA doesn't require ID for any minor. When you get to the gate, inform the gate agent you would like to gate check a stroller and they'll tag it for you. It can then be left plane side when you board. Family boarding is between the A and B boarding groups or if you all have A boarding passes you can board in the A group as assigned. Have a great trip!

Thanks @LindseyD I wish I could say I've been, even had a trip planned out, but canceled because of concerns about mosquitoes and the unknown impact of Zeka. That was last summer and now that additional research has been done Costa Rica is back on the bucket list. Perhaps next year. I too would love to hear from others who might have first hand experience.

As the OP says the original flight was canceled, then they booked another, canceling that second booking would result in a cash refund IF second booking was a BS or AT fare. Based on the original description, no "change" was ever made. I'm guessing all this is probably mute as it was most likely a WGA fare.

Yes, you can.... Yes, you can request past flight points for flights completed in the past 12 months. To claim points for a past flight, simply log into your account, select My Account and choose the Manage tab within My Rapid Rewards. Choose Request past points in the grey bar and enter your record locator (confirmation number) from your reservation. After verification of your flight information (approximately 3-5 days), points will be deposited into your account.

Yes, although you're better off to "change" the flight instead of cancelling. Just change it to the exact same flight at the lower fare and you'll get a travel credit to use within a year of the original booking. Be sure to keep a note of the confirmation number so you can apply the credit later, it isn't saved as a credit within your account.

When you are looking at flights on southwest.com you can choose to display the fare in $ or points. Select points and you'll see how many points a particular flight will require. Each Southwest point is valued between 1.6 cents and 1.8 cents (roughly) and with 67,000 you should be able to get a few good flights in. Have fun!

You can't retroactively apply funds to a booking. If for some reason you rebooked the flight with either a Business Select or Anytime fare you could cancel it, get a cash refund, then rebook using the funds.

Staying in the airport won't be too exciting, there's a small mall like collection of shops inside security. Outside security there's an upstairs observation deck if you're a fan of plane watching, and a decent micro brewery. There's a couple other ideas here: http://zbestlimo.com/bwi-layover/ Apparently there's a mediation room? That might be good for a couple hour nap! If you're willing to venture out with your luggage there's plenty to see/do in Baltimore. Take the light rail or for less hassle grab an uber. More suggestions and info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/baltimore/comments/52qh2u/7_hour_layover_at_bwi_is_that_enough_time_to/ Good luck, and let us know what you did

I don't think this is a problem with rebooking, but more to do with how the new system displays pricing. If you were to actually call I don't think you'd find the cheap fare was really available. With the latest sale I checked prices on 32 flights I had booked, was able to reprice (change flight option) about half and ran into the error you're describing a handful of times. It sucks getting your hopes up about a lower fare only to find it unavailable, but some cheap fares go fast.
