I got 2 changes but luckily they were only 40min and 2 hours nothing crazy this time. Changing on the app and website is very easy. I would avoid calling if you can because hold times will be long. Sorry you have been on hold for so long. Currently Southwest is revising some schedules based on demand and this is causing phone lines to get clogged with lots of calls for people trying to change flights. I would try reaching out to Southwest on Facebook or Twitter in a DM and hopefully they. can assist. Keep in mind after 24 hours the ticket becomes non refundable. First I’m sorry for your loss. Southwest doesn’t provide bereavement fares so when you book last minute your most likely going to pay the premium price also it’s not that you were upcharged you just had to pay the difference in fare so if you bought your original flight for $100 but then when you changed the reservation that flight is $300 you would have had to pay the $200 difference this happens on all airlines some will also charge you a change fee on top of that fare difference. With the gun case keep in mind all bags at an airport are subject to search it is very possible that TSA tried to open the case for inspection. With reporting it to Southwest did you go to the site listed on your damaged bag claim to follow up with southwest or reach out to the phone number on the claim? If not I would do that although it may be too late as claims say you have 21 days to provide receipts and pictures to southwest though that website -Blake

Why yours you may ask well what if I got ahold of your account number and now I called and changed the Companion to me even though you don’t know me well now you would be down 1 of the 3 changes per year. Also some people have the same name so they want to make sure they put the right person as the Companion. Sorry to hear you left your ipad on the plane. Once items are found they are sent to a central lost and found in Alabama. Once in Alabama they begin the process of trying to find the owner of the item. Personally the email didn't ever make me want to change my flight. people are slowly starting to travel again and many are getting the vaccine that's my guess as to why they stopped the emails. Once you get the companion pass you can add the companion to any flight you are booked on as long as a seat is available on the flight. You can add them to a flight you booked 6 weeks a go or a flight you booked the day you get the pass. If you notice a flight only has a few seats left you could book the companion on points to hold the seat (if you have enough points) that way when you get the companion pass you could cancel the points booking and book using the companion pass. -Blake

If you have any home repairs or upgrades you could use the card for those purchases. The weekly trip to the grocery store or daily coffee would also help. You can get to the $5,000 fast if you have stuff you have to buy. Going on vacation in the future maybe prepay for it with the card that way when it comes time to travel you can use the companion pass to get you there if you reached the spend requirement by then. The other crazy idea I heard from someone else is they bought $3,000 in airline tickets in their name that way when they go to book flights they want in the next year they can use the travel funds. One thing to note with this method is the funds expire in a year from when they bought those tickets so if something came up and they couldn't travel or didn't use all the funds they would throw away a ton of money so personally I wouldn't go that route. -Blake

First off sorry your flight was cancelled. Flights get cancelled on every airline for many reasons. Personally if I needed to be in a city for an important work meeting or dinner I'd fly in a day early just in case flights were to be delayed or cancelled. Flying in a few hours before your meeting or dinner can be dangerous and to me if it was life or death it would be worth $60-$80 for a hotel to keep my job. Sure it's not always possible but I'd surely try.

Sorry to hear your sons bag was left on the plane and received the wrong one. That's not a fun situation as a similar one happened to me a couple years a go. As mentioned the best thing to do is fill out a lost and found report and include all details of the bag and include anything that would help Southwest realize it's your sons bag and not another look alike.
