So from my personal experience you are able to have someone book your ticket on points and still add the companion for example my dad is the companion pass holder i am the companion I booked his ticket with my points and he was still able to add the companion (me) with no problem you would just book the companion pass ticket with the points from the other account then go add the companion from the companion pass holders account. **Be sure you change all the info before booking otherwise you may book the ticket with some information from the non companions account (account holder who's points your using info would be automatically there) and be sure to put the correct rapid rewards number in. Hello from what I experienced before I turned 18 I didn't need any ID but I had a school ID just in case. when I went through security at that age all I had to do was tell the TSA agent my age or Date of birth depending on what they asked me and I was good to go they never stopped me like when I was 17 I was tall they didn't say are you sure your not 20 they were like great and on to the next person. I know they have the more rewards site which you can use points to book international flights as well as hotels or a rental car is that what your talking about if so that does exist still and they actually made it possible for non card holders to use it as well to find the more rewards site you click on rapid rewards on the top of the home page then click how to redeem there you will see the redeem for more rewards Hope this helps Blake

Once you have earned the companion pass you should be able to designate the companion without paying more since you already paid to earn those points you can call reservations at 800-435-9792 to designate your companion and they will send you a companion pass card with the companions name and expiration date on it. After you set your companion you can use those points to fly both of you for free (just have to pay the security taxes of $5.60 per one way domestic) if using points for your ticket hope this helps Blake

I have seen some times where if I cancel a flight I had booked it may still show up on my calendar and it may still notify me of that flight but I found out that's just thanks to Gmail in my case I learned to just go in and edit the calendar not sure why it would put a random flight in your calendar though. Southwest is not the only company that has this kind of problem another one I found was Hotwire if I add the trip protection I can't use PayPal i think it has to do with the company's system or PayPal says it only wants 1 item per transaction so it may consider EB check in as a separate thing just like you can't buy 6 round trip flights on one reservation.

Sorry your mad because of gate changes in the world of air travel today gates change all the time especially if there was weather in the area so they are trying to get a ton of flights out at once that's why they always advice you to check a tv monitor in the terminal for the most up to date gate and flight information. if you would like to talk to southwest about your concerns you can DM southwest on Twitter as already suggested or you can call customer relations at 855-234-4654 but just beware you may have to wait on hold for an extended period of time hope your next flight is gate change and stress free! @csstile Unfortunately if you do add EB check in at time of booking you won't be able to use PayPal you can only use PayPal for the air only reservations I'm not sure why but that's how it has been for some time now because I had the same problem 4 years a go before I was A List and I wanted to buy EB and use PayPal and that's when I was told I couldn't. here's what I would do 1. Most hotel and airline programs I know work like this the guest that owns that loyalty account must be staying in the room to get the credit (points or miles or even elite status for those who have that) they do this because otherwise 1 family member would create an account and rack up the benefits. It's just like when you buy a flight only the person who flies gets the points even if you pay for someone else to fly. So maybe back in the day it worked but may not work now. Of course they can always create a rapid rewards account and earn points then they could use the points on you directly from there account or you can transfer them to your account for a fee. @jackiereed6 WIth travel funds your travel must be complete by the expiration date not just booked by the expiration date. ex. Funds expire 8/22/18 you want to travel 8/21-8/24 you would need to book a one way to use the funds on the 8/21 travel if you want to travel 8/24-8/26 you would have to pay In full or you can call customer relations to see about the voucher for a $100 fee which could change or may not be offered and you have to wait until the funds expire and it can take a couple weeks to get the voucher so you probably wouldn't have the voucher in time to book a 2 day later trip plus cost would be high anyways. I would suggest taking a trip before the expiration date so you don't lose the funds maybe a weekend get away to relax. hope this helps Blake

I know to use mobile boarding you would need a rapid rewards account and you would need to be logged in to your own account to obtain it. Are you on the most up to date version of the southwest app? if not that may be the problem I would double check that you are on the newest version. Blake

My sister and her friends were traveling to TPA from DAL 2 weeks a go right after this new enhancement and my sisters friend didn't have the app on her phone because it wasn't compatible so they asked me how do I handle this I told them they could do exactly as you said or they could log in on the app on my sister's phone take a screen shot and text it to the friend and it worked out just fine as well as another option for people who have a smart phone but don't have the app. Blake

@lawnguyen Sorry to hear about your recent experience with using southwest hotels as already said southwest uses booking.com for hotels and I'm guessing there was an issue notifying the hotel that you booked by booking.com southwest just sells them. to echo what @dfwskier said I would call southwest customer relations so they can look in to the issue and also make sure you get the 10,000 points or however many you should have earned as I know it says you can earn up to 10,000 a night so just want to make sure it wasn't one of those places that only earns you a point per dollar but if you didn't get the points they would be the best department to talk to so they can investigate. They would also be the best people to pass on your complaint to booking.com for investigation as well to see what went wrong and to see what can be done to fix this issues and make sure it doesn't happen again. @Shawn555 So my dad has a companion pass and when he changed it to me it took about 6 days after we called to change the companion to get the new card. i would recommend calling reservations as soon as travel with the first companion is complete (like that afternoon or night you arrive when travel is complete) that way it is processing as quick as possible. I do believe at that time you should be able to book a ticket with the new companion even though you don't have the card at that time. We were able to make a new reservation immediately once the new companion was assigned so unless something changed you should be able to without issue. If you get told no I would just call back or try online. in the meantime I would book a points ticket if you have the points as @DancingDavidE suggested just to hold the seat until your able to book the new companion. we personally have never been asked for the card since I have been the companion so you should be fine once you change the name. Just remember you can only change the companion 3 times as some think they can change it unlimited times. Hope this helps Blake

You can only go standby on a flight that leaves before your flight. You can at least in my own experience standby on a flight that arrives later I did this once to avoid weather and I didn't want to worry about spending the night in an airport so I was like can I do standby on this flight that leaves earlier and has seats they said yes no problem. The reason they won't let you standby for a later flight is there is no guarantee that a seat will be available when it comes time for that flight so you would wait to be told the flight is full and your stuck waiting on another flight. I have heard of some missing there flight and saying can you put me on this one but again there is no guarantee they will be able to put you on that flight. Best advice would be to see if your original flight has a delay then you might be able to change for free without problem or see about changing to the other flight if the price is right (it could change from day to day so I would check maybe in the AM and PM) hope this helps Blake

@Beachflier1 First I would recommend arriving early be sure you don't have more than the allowed liquid in your carry on and security should be easy but by arriving early you help guarantee that you won't be rushing and freaking out. it's better to have to wait a little longer before the flight then risk missing it. At some airports the pilot or FAs may be waiting to board the flight so if you see the crew maybe you could try to talk to them before boarding most are very nice and will chat with you. If there is no crew in your gate area maybe try to meet someone at the gate and you could try to be seat mates if your boarding passes are good (not late B or C group where you could be in middle seats) bring a book or have some music to listen to just in case you don't find someone to talk with or if your shy to talk to the seat mate which I understand not everyone wants to talk nothing wrong with that but best to have something to keep your mind off of the flying and next thing you know you will be landing. Snacks (pretzels) should be served and drinks so be sure to grab one of those as well. be sure if you didn't buy Early Bird check in that you check in at the 24 hour mark so you can get a good boarding position this should eliminate you getting a middle seat and help with ahh I will be more comfortable in the window or the aisle and you will have a better chance of the seat you want compared to if you wait until you arrive at the airport to check in. feel free to write back after the trip to let us know how it went! hope it goes smoothly! So from my personal experience my cousins who were 5 and 10 at the time were flying solo and my grandparents and I (3 of us total) took them to the airport we were able to get gate passes for all of us with no questions asked and we were all over 18 at the time. I imagine they would let you get 2 gate passes if they won't let you get 2 passes then I would find a place for the sister to sit like a food court or something outside of security because sitting in the car is no fun assuming the sister is of age to be alone. The best advice I can give you would be to use the mobile southwest site. Sure it may be a pain to log in every time but works just fine for checking points, booking tickets, or checking In and you can screen shot the mobile boarding pass as well should you want to use mobile boarding. If you don't don't like that option then unfortunately you would have to upgrade to a newer phone or get a cheap tablet as @rtbarron suggested. hope this helps Blake
