That's the gate agent simply not following the rules. This has been discussed many times.

So, to (hopefully) close out this little mystery, there was no one in line between A16-A20 when we boarded. Weird. I didn’t even bother asking around, and still hardly a matter: there were only 75 people on this flight. I’m back to A16 for both legs tomorrow so fingers crossed they will stay that way!

I'm not referring to a message that is answered a week later. I'm talking about an instant message that gets immediate attention and the central operations calls the gate agent within 30 seconds.
Unfortunately People would abuse that for flight delays or other issues not boarding issues or violations. Kind of like the Lyft safety line to avoid the robot on the app just click call and boom you get a real person and takes them away from true issues.
folks can always request a supervisor at the airport who would be the one to deal with a situation anyway and I think it would be acted on faster than the online reporting system

The SW rule is no more than 3 forms of payment per ticket FOR A SINGLE PASSENGER. I'm not sure what happens when there are 4 passengers on a reservation and each of the 4 have their own travel funds.

I know around 5pm southwest had some website/rapid rewards issues you might try again and if the issue persists reach out to southwest by phone 800-435-9792 or on Twitter
also if changing a point’s reservation be sure your logged in to the account where the points came from.

Yes but I think there is a small cost like taxes.
my old coworker is now a FA here at Southwest she gave a coworker of mine a buddy pass she paid $40 each way however on a buddy pass your not top priority and that means you could be bumped if the flight is full. My coworker just used her pass last week and she was actually moved to a different flight because it was full and on the return she got the last seat because someone missed the connection otherwise she would have been moved again
so my advice with buddy passes have the employee check seats on flights and TRAVEL EARLY and be FLEXIBLE

Hi! Question related to this promotion. Do you need to fly by September 30 or book a flight by September 30?
You'd have to fly by 9/30, the pass would be inactive on any later flight.

I believe before Covid you could find a credit by credit card number I’m not sure if that’s still the case but you can always call Southwest and hopefully they can assist.
also you might search for the booking email that was sent when the reservation was made

No, it wouldn't help with TSA. I recently lost my license on VC. They wouldn't take the pic on my phone. It didn't take very long to go through security. I have PreCheck, so maybe that's why. They just did extra screening on my carry-on items. I didn't even have to present any photo id, I had my credit cards, healthcare card and AAA card. This was in Baltimore.

What is the early check-in and is it necessary to purchase? Pros and Cons? I'm flying from Atlanta to Houston Hobby. Any helpful tips are appreciated.
To combine the two answers:
Do you care if you end up in a middle seat? If not then definitely just wing it and see how it goes. 1/3 of people fly in a middle seat if the plane is full so it's not that bad, literally 50 to 55 people will do it on a relatively full 737-800 or Max.
Your mileage might vary even if you do buy it, I'm not a fan.
It will check you in before anyone that doesn't also buy it, so you'll be ahead of some people.
I'd prefer to spend a little more on "upgraded boarding position" if it is availble the day of the flight - if needed (you could check in and get a good position, the flight might not be full, etc. for several reasons you may not need upgraded boarding position but you won't know until the day of the flight.
I do recommend EBCI in one scenario - you won't be able to check in until you get the airport. Then it would be nice to be already checked in, not the last person to do it at the airport in case the flight was oversold for some reason you don't want to be the last person.
Traveling from the Caribbean for instance you might not have cell service, then I would buy EBCI.
Houston to Atlanta isn't that long of a flight, I'd say skip it and if you end up in a middle it's just for a few hours, save the money for a beverage.

I have a quick question, I will soon be traveling, and it will be my first time having a layover flight before reaching the final destination; when I arrive at the first stop, should I claim my luggage and recheck it, or does it get moved onto my next flight without me having to do anything? Not sure if this will affect it, but there is about a 5-hour difference between when I stop and when I depart again.
Don't send us any personally identifying information but if you wanted to share the route cities it might help us.
For instance if this is an international flight into the US then you will claim your bags and go through customs and re-check.
For all other scenarios if you booked it as a one-way ticket then I think you can collect everything at the end.
Five hours is atypical but there might be an exception for some of the infrequently served airports.

The state of recruiting in this country is laughable. I doubt that the person who said "you got the job" has the sole authority to hire. My guess is that they blurted that out and then wished they hadn't said that.
Unless you are thoroughly versed in the ins and outs of the SW hiring process, you have no way of knowing that.

Thanks! Yes the name is exactly the same, the confirmation numbers are the same, they were flown in full, and within the last 12 months. I started a ticket with customer service. Just wanted to check here first if there was any known issues or something I was missing.
Try the most recent one to be sure there isn't a timing issue, if that one doesn't work then there is some issue with matching the name or confirmation. Grab your receipt to make sure the spelling was correct.
On the confirmation number everything that could be a letter or a number is a letter. (O vs 0, I vs 1 vs l, etc.)

Thanks for that info! That's great to know. Can I make a second free same-day change, which I might want to do if I can't get an A1-15 upgraded boarding position on the first flight I changed to? The boarding position seems to be the one downside of the same-day change, but I have the Rapid Rewards Priority credit card, so I can upgrade my boarding position from C whatever to A1-15 up to four times for free. I haven't flown much since they started letting us buy the upgraded boarding position online, but it has been available on all my flights since then.
My understanding is you can change as needed on the same day without paying additional fare with a WGA+, Anytime, or Business Select fare (or WGA with A-List or A-List Preferred status), only paying the minor tax differences if required. If you do a Same-Day Flight Change online and later learn that all the A1-A15 slots are sold out after receiving the new booking confirmation, I assume you can do another change.
Might be best at that point to call Southwest and rebook through a CSA on the phone or at the airport so you can ask beforehand whether the Upgraded Boarding is still available prior to confirming the change.

We've discussed preboarding so many times I'm surprised that there isn't a category of its own.
Under Federal law, The Air Carrier Access Act, if you self-identify as a person with a disability you preboard. That's the law. In fact, you can do acrobatics all the way to the gate, self-identify as an individual with a disability, preboard, then withdraw your claim. Since the claim does not renew for each subsequent flight, it must expire somewhere but the law is unclear.
Anyone who challenges your "disability" is leaving themselves open for legal action. That includes other passengers who harass or otherwise attempt to shame those who self-identify with a disability.
I would be in favor of an ID card or placard similar to parking in handicap zones if the law eventually goes there. However, that is not likely to happen anytime soon.
This is a unique situation with Southwest. Other airlines have assigned seating and you can preboard to your assigned seat. On Southwest, you preboard AND get the best choice of seats. That's a perfect storm. However, it is not the fault of those that preboard.

I guess I have to ask, if you are going to be on a flight and don't want to be touched, why are you on the flight?
Perhaps a private flight next time?
Or just go on an airline that lets you buy 2 seats
I think on SW only COS can buy 2 seats which is still weird to me because if someone wants to pay why not take the money

Sounds very unusual for a RR account to be locked for 2 entire years with no resolution? I would contact Twitter via private message (Facebook / Twitter) and see what they have to say.
It’s also unclear why a “chargeback” would do anything to your RR account anyway. What happens when you try to log in to your account? Do you get an error message, and if so, what?
Are you sure this is not about a Southwest credit card being locked due to this payment issue? Still, even if something happened with a SW CC, that should still have no impact on your RR account on Southwest.com.
