Given this verbaige: "Starting December 3, 2019, if you include your Rapid Rewards number in your flight reservation, you will be able to view available travel funds from unused tickets, tickets cancelled in accordance with the No Show Policy, or tickets which have a residual balance." (emphasis mine), I think it should show all travel fund scenarios for anything after 12/3. Southwest.com > My Account > View Travel Funds LUV IT!

You're welcome. There are also some great cockpit videos on YouTube, a really good one I just watched is of an Aer Lingus on approach to San Francisco. It provides a good sense of the flight deck activity (checklists, radio communications, and coordination) with great scenery. If there was a good Southwest video like this then I would have referenced that one instead!

thanks NicoleAshley but the solution I am looking for is to allow my companion to board with me. I think in my discussions with many other Companion Pass holders that is what is universally wanted.

@Ron_jacobson wrote: I have been seeing the same delay with Alamo. I booked a car in January and I got the points posted the day after I returned from my trip. A rental in April took until June to get my points. And I have yet to see my points for an October trip and way too early to even worry about points from t thanksgiving rental. All I know is something happened since January 2019. Very disappointed Whenever I run into a delay in delivery of hotel or rent car points of more then say 3 weeks, I contact the firm and ask them to get on with it. That normally does the trick.

He did put HNL as the final destination and our bags arrived as expected. We purchased entry to the OAK Escape Lounge off Groupon. The purchase was for a 3 hr stay but it wasn’t busy and we were not asked to leave. It was well worth the purchase price. Glad to hear it worked out!

Thanks @Lindsey! Having the ability to book flights with points and get the refund when needed is a great perk of SW! One of my faves. @Huynhjp91, if you have more questions, let me know. Happy to help!

@ncwklw wrote: Absolutely nothing. Southwest doesn't honor it. And it's non refundable. Do your research before you get ripped off like many people. The only EBCI guarantee is that people that buy it will get better boarding spots than everyone that checks themselves in -- assuing that it's bought at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. The closer it's bought to the 24 hour mark, the less it is worth.

If you have to have a certain seat or have to sit next to a certain person why would you choose an airline that doesn't allow you to reserve seats when you purchase your ticket? SWA boarding if a free for all. But you know that up front. You don't know where you will be sitting or next to whom.

I'm afraid that would like not be allowed. You can find info about travelling with pets here and about emotional support animals here. My understanding of these policies would not accomodate you travelling with geckos since cats and dogs are the pets that are allowed on board, since they would not be service or emotional support animals, and since pets cannot be checked. It's probably not the answer you hoped for, but I hope it helps!

A List is good for the remainder of the year in which you earn it plus the entire next year. So if you qualify in 2019, then you status is effective upon qualification through the end of 2020. Per SW's site: "Rapid Rewards® A-List and A-List Preferred qualification is based on the calendar year. Once reached, you will begin enjoying the benefits immediately. You will maintain your A-List or A-List Preferred status for the remainder of the calendar year and the entire calendar year immediately following the year in which you qualified. Southwest® may from time to time offer promotional tier status. If you received tier status due to a promotional offer, the length of your tier may not be until the end of a calendar year. Please refer to the specific promotion for the tier length."

This article from The Points Guy is super helpful! And congrats on requalifying! I requalified several weeks ago, and I am currently on the flight that will renew my A List Preferred status. Happy flying!

That's rough! $200 is fair compensation but I can agree that you would want a little something extra considering all the other problems that you encountered. My only experience in this area was a flight en route to Vegas with a stop in Chicago last January. Got to Chicago no problem, but there was an issue with the plane preventing takeoff to Vegas, and a snowstorm coming that night. If the flight was cancelled, I would be stuck in Chicago for sure for who knows how long. Thankfully the plane did end up leaving, 4 hours later, and Southwest did give everyone a $100 voucher for the trouble. That was good enough for me! --Jessica

Not all that surprising of a boarding position if the OP purchased a Business Select ticket. Is the position alone worth the extra cost for Business Select? No... so it's also worth checking at the desk for upgraded boarding which can be purchased for $40 and can also get you a A1-A15 position, the same numbers Business Select tickets are assigned. --TheMiddleSeat

It is overrated to me because of the tray table situation as several have said. It just is not that practical. I generally like the window or aisle seat in the exit row opposite 12A. You get more legroom but a functional tray table. Now I might choose 12A over a regular row, but it isn't my first choice. But if you want to go with "Southwest First Class" as many call it (that joke is tired at this point), enjoy!

I'm what you call "elitist." I travel countless days per year and earn that sustain...and the perks that come along with it like being able to standby onto earlier flights for free. As has been stated, SW offers this perk to its most valuable customers for free. Other customer can pay to upgrade to the full far, again...as has been stated. Honesty hour: this will not change, and SW's response to the OP was not bull...it was truth. If SW allowed anyone to buy a ticket on any flight and then just swap to the earlier one with no cost, they would lose money. And SW offers way too many perks that other airlines don't that make this policy OK with me. Good luck finding another airline that will consistently let non-status holders standby for free. If you do, it might be the better choice for your travels, and that is OK.

I was doing touch and gos in Lubbock years ago. Including me, two Skyhawks were doing touch and gos. I had just turned on final and the tower cleared the other plane to land. I wasn't about to risk asking the tower whether it had made a mistake since if it wasn't a mistake, I was about to be run into by the other plane. That was not the time for talk. It was the time to fly the plane. I made a sharp turn to the east, abandoning the pattern, and got on the radio to tell the tower what I was doing. The tower cleared me to the parallel runway. The guy in the tower forgot who he was talking with. He forgot my tail number and used the wrong one while talking with me.

The points should post to your SW account within a day (in my experience) if the statement where you met the spend requirement closing! So your 40k from the personal should definitely count within 2019 for qualification for having CP in 2020. Your statement will show the points you receive, and then you will be able dm to see them in your RR account. If you wait to use the business card, those points will post next year, of course, and will count towards the next year if CP qualification (2021). Hope that helps! Good luck.
