To change the name you'll need to cancel the reservation and rebook. When you cancel a points reservation the points return to your account and can be reused to book travel for anyone. If no name change is being made you can cancel or change the flight, not much difference unless you purchased EarlyBird checkin, then you should change the flight so as not to lose EarlyBird. You'll lose EB if you cancel.

Details, details 😛 It should also be pointed out that if you're nice about it, you can usually get 8-10+ drinks out of those four coupons. Southwest's crews are great!

You'll get 4 drink coupons for every 10 flights, with flight defined as going from origination point to destination, inclusive of any connections along the way. This is not dependent on the calendar, just every 10, whenever you happen to complete them.

The senior fare is a discounted Anytime fare so you get a better deal on a refundable ticket, but your best price in most cases is still going to be a Wanna Get Away fare. If refundability is important, then a senior fare might be a good option.

No indication that you need to notify Southwest: Southwest Airlines will not accept human remains as checked baggage; however, a Customer may take cremated remains onboard a domestic U.S. or international flight as a carryon item under certain conditions. We recommend that cremated remains be presented for transport in a temporary plastic or cardboard container. Note: Customers may take cremated pet remains onboard as carryon items under the same conditions.

Based on this info from TSA's site, it does not appear you can pass through screening with the baby in your Ergo Baby Remove infants and children from their carriers and carry them in arms through the walk-through metal detector. With that in mind, you'll probably want to use your stroller. You'll need to remove your baby from the stroller, collapse the stroller, send it through the x-ray, walk through x-ray with your baby, and then gather your things, unfold stroller, and place baby back in the stroller. This blog post summarizes it a bit better than I have. It does appear to have old information regarding wearing your baby through screening. I would ignore that and focus on the stroller comments. http://mommypoints.boardingarea.com/2013/12/18/how-to-not-drop-your-baby-when-going-through-airport-security/ When you reach the gate let the Southwest rep at the counter (not the gate door) know you need to gate check your stroller. You'll get a tag to place on it, then as you board you'll collapse the stroller and leave it near the plane door. Upon arriving at your destination, wait in the same area and your stroller will be brought to you. As you mentioned, all these steps do add to the time required to get to the gate and on the flight. While the exact time depends on many more factors, you should allow yourself at least an extra 30-60 minutes more than usual so as not to feel rushed. Good luck, I know from personal experience how challenging traveling with young ones can be.

I don't know all the history of the Rapid Rewards program, but as far back as I can remember the points/credits earned have only been redeemable for flights and I wouldn't expect it to change. While you can redeem for hotels and other stuff on other airlines, it also takes a lot more miles/points to go anywhere on other airlines than it does on Southwest. Perhaps use your AA points for the hotel and Southwest RR points for flights?

Full size bottles are ok for checked bags. I would recommend placing them in ziploc bags or something else that seals, bottles sometimes open up with the change in air pressure and you don't want a whole bottle of shampoo emptying in your bag or leaking onto other people's bags. Have a great trip! Hopefully the hurricanes stay away.

Cancel the Business Select flight and you'll get a cash refund, although it's not an immediate refund, then make whatever purchase you want. Unless you don't want a cash refund because it would go back to the company? I believe there is an option to hold the funds as travel funds, which would expire one year from the original purchase date and could only be used by you. One of the main benefits of BS fares is refundability.

Redeposited, yes. Expiration is the usual points expiration policy, your account would need to be inactive for 24 months. No expiration date specific to the refunded points.

You're not doing anything wrong, that's how it works. Separate confirmation numbers, one for the CP holder and one for the companion and thus separate check ins.

The simple answer is yes, you can do what you are asking. You can cancel the new reservation, converting the amount paid to into new travel funds, then repurchase the flight with the old funds. Your new travel funds would then expire one year from the date you originally booked the new, now canceled reservation. Do not use both old and new funds to make a purchase, that would make all the new funds expire when the old funds expire. Hopefully that's all understandable.

Schedules and routes often change when the schedule is extended so you would need to wait until that happens. THere's no exact date for the June 2018 schedule to be released yet, but I would guess late September or early October. If you're booking the flights with points, the points would return to your RR account and could be used later to book flights for anyone. If you pay cash for the flights and then they cancel, only the passengers from the canceled flights can use the funds.

If the companion pass holder does not not board the flight, Southwest will ask the companion to get off the flight. If you're not sure you're going to fly you might want to consider a backup plan for your companion.

What makes you think this is a scam? It's not explained really well by Southwest, but does work as intended, no scam here. You buy it, don't have to worry about when you check-in and can print your boarding pass anytime within 24 hours of the flight or just show up and get your boarding pass at the airport.

From https://www.southwest.com/air/flight-schedules/index.html "We are currently accepting air reservations through April 6, 2018. On August 28, 2017 we will open our schedule for sale through June 1, 2018. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently" Based on that, I would suspect a late September or early October extension that would cover June 2018.

Travel funds are not automatically applied to purchases and not tracked anywhere in your account online. It's up to you to track them and apply them to purchases. After selecting your flights online find the "Do you want to apply travel funds?" section of the checkout screen. Put in the confirmation number and passenger name of the canceled reservation and apply. If the same passenger is named on the new flight, the credit will be applied. Travel funds can be used for travel that completes within one year of the original purchase.
