I believe LGB is an airport where they board from both front and back and a lot of people try to rush the front maybe you can be the few who make the run for the back door and maybe the last couple rows will have a few seats available since that longer line of people trying to get the front will move slower
you can always ask for extra time boarding maybe they can help which is between A and B groups or check back later to see if you can upgrade boarding for 1 person and then save a seat

YES! I actually recommend booking and if the price goes down you can get a credit then once you have the CP you can add it
one other suggestion if you have points you can book your companion on points just to hold the seat until you can add your companion in case that flight were to be sold out you don’t want to end up with that problem so this just helps avoid it if you have points available

If there are certain routes that only have a non stop one or 2 days a week I find them to be Saturday or Sunday so first search a random weekday (say Wednesday) if you don’t see a non stop search Saturday/Sunday then if you see a non stop then you will know usually the only non stop for that route is day specific for the schedule then you can just search flights on that particular day of the week. I know it’s a little extra work but once you see the trend of a schedule you can usually figure out what days a certain flight operates during that schedule.
You can also ask here and I’m sure some folks on here can help with telling you if a non stop from A to B exists.

I wish they would bring back the kicktail coupons because an email to HQ doesn’t feel the same as there is not a guarantee the employee sees the thanks vs me handing that kicktail they feel the LUV even if there is no prize except knowing that you have made someone’s day (which is a prize in itself)

The employees are busy trying to get other flights bags before they all pile up and get even more of a delay. If they all go and start grabbing bags one by one from behind the scenes, it would take even longer than a group of two or three people trying to fix the baggage belt.
Isn’t your home airport MCO? So would you call all the workers lazy for not bringing bags up during a thunderstorm or immediately after the thunderstorm ends? Guess what it takes time to catch up after a weather delay, as well as after a mechanical issue with the belt, in some airports, they have to call the actual airport maintenance team since the belt is owned by the airport

Southwest recently has started upgrading the Wi-Fi so all of those old post mean nothing these days because it’s a different provider or upgraded version of the old provider. If you would actually look most of those Wi-Fi complaints were before this year or late last year the Wi-Fi is much better than it was in 2022 or early 2023 sure from time to time it doesn’t work, but guess what it’s life things break delaying a flight for Wi-Fi would be silly Maybe if the Wi-Fi is down they should just turn off the system completely but then you would complain that you can’t watch a movie so they would be at a loss with you either way because there are many times the Wi-Fi was down but the Entertainment portal still worked. Filing a lawsuit to speeding a charge are all silly. Just send an email and they will probably refund you unless you’re abusive with asking for refunds handle it like an adult not a child and usually you will have better results

Sorry your flight was late
2 hours is nothing these days. My last 2 trips have both been 3* hours late but stuff happens things break. I’d rather it break before take off even if that means I’m stuck on the plane instead of having to deal with an emergency landing.

I could always go for some M&M’s, pretzels, or BBQ chips but usually I try to snack before I get on the flight same with drinks as those inflight lavatories aren’t made for the bigger guys like myself and I don’t want to make that trip unless it’s a true emergency.

Scams happen everywhere they have to research such allegations because believe it or not people try to scam banks as well by saying something is fraud when it wasn’t. Did you go though the dispute process and the arbitration?
did you report the scam right away?

I’ve made a 11min connection from gate 5 to gate 50 in HOU I hope to never do that again I was in row 9 on the first flight and we had a delay getting to our gate which made the connection short I now try to avoid connecting flights with less than an hour because I don’t feel like doing that hike again running style 😂
sitting in The front if I know the connection will be short is the main thing I do. Carry on bag for short schedule connections is also a must in my book because even a slight delay could lead to a checked bag missing the flight and causing a mess go get my bag.

A lot of times I’ll grab a snack and drink and people watch or listen to music or work on my next trip or get other work done. I’ll find that quiet gate and chill on occasion I’ll check to see if an earlier flight is available (or a delayed one that I can still leave earlier than the long connection)

With AUS being my home airport it’s hard for me to have a layover there 😂 although most of the ops agents know me and several of the local food places know me very well (Amy’s ice cream for dessert yumm)
during Covid I loved MDW layovers because I’d take my lunch/dinner and go to the very quiet A4A/A4B concourse (a nice walk from the other gates ) and was a peaceful place to take a break from the mask and eat. Before covid I couldn’t stand those gates for layovers 😂 but now with those gates back in use I still enjoy MDW but not the hike on short layovers
now days still enjoy MDW but LAS is fun for slots and BNA is fun for music I used to like HOU for pappadeaux but they are no more so I skip HOU when I can (yeah I’m salty about it)

You do realize this works the same way with every major airline. Example I cancelled an American Airlines flight only I can use the credit even though someone else paid
with Southwest if you buy WGA+ then you can transfer your funds to anyone as long as both the persons funds you want to transfer and the person who receives the funds have RR accounts.
standard rule is the funds stay with each person on the reservation. If you have a $200 flight per person ($400 total) and both cancel then you each have $200. If passenger A cancels but B continues to travel then passenger A has a $200 credit

with regards to the flight status I do agree that you should be able to enter a flight number or the city pairs but the best thing we can do for now as customers is share the feedback with Southwest by clicking on the contact us link at the bottom of this page. I will say not everyone knows the flight number so keeping the city search makes sense to me but if you know the flight number it shouldn’t make you enter the cities as well. I’m guessing the reason you have to enter the city pairs though is Southwest flight numbers can operate multiple segments so some might be confused if they type in a flight number and see 5 flights but personally I like seeing the full route anyway

Unfortunately no one here will know why they cut service to IAD but my guess is they have more service out of DCA or maybe the goals aren’t being met at IAD

In my experience the voucher was given to me at the point of pick up. Sometimes the agents have a lot going on did you ask the agent when you picked up the bag about the voucher? The BSO would have issued that voucher.
since you didn’t receive it at pick up I would send an email or call the reservations line and they can open a case and customer relations can take a look in to it.

You can have her book a WGA+ ticket then cancel and the funds become transferable the only thing that is required is the GF must be a RR member so if she won’t create an account then your SOL but it is illegal to create an account for her so hopefully it’s a peaceful breakup and you can ask nicely if she can create an account so you can get your money

Maybe call Southwest reservations team and maybe they can assist. You can also dispute the charge with your bank as fraud 800/435/9792 you can also click the contact us link on this page and send an email to Southwest I would include information from your police report.
they probably won’t give you the passengers name because maybe the person who committed the fraud booked a flight for someone else so the traveler may not actually be the bad guy (ex. Bad guy booked grandma a flight) and usually police won’t give out names as it could compromise the investigation

Yes I’d recommend having your wife create an account that way she can earn points as well as you and eventually she will earn enough points for a free flight since points don’t expire so even if she flies once a year those points will still be there. You can’t earn her points so don’t throw them away and you each earn the points per dollar on the flight depending on your fare class (WGA, WGA+, Anytime, Business Select) you earn 6-12X points per dollar you won’t get less points because she creates an account you would both earn the same if you paid the same cost
