Got everyone checked in this morning, not great boarding positions, but we're all checked in. Final question, it does not seem possible to either print boarding passes for the group from the southwest website nor get my boarding pass (A-list) on my app. With a group reservation, can you only get your boarding passes at the luggage check in desk?

Yes there is a skycap and they are awesome! So incredibly efficient and friendly! Unfortunately they are not there 24/7. Their current hours are 7 AM to 4 PM at the time of this writing but you may want to call Southwest before your departure date to confirm this.

AKA none, but he has all of solutions to Southwest's problems. I can't even begin to count the number of people who told me not so politely to stay quiet as I had not been impacted. I was impacted, experienced the impact, saw what Southwest was doing, and went through the process of trying to get reimbursed for expenses so I have no problem offering an educated take on the events.

Late reply but may be helpful in future. SWA purchases are 3x points. I think when you purchased a SWA gift card with your credit card it would be 3x points. I missed realizing this until a day before my statement was closing. I would have bought 1/3 of my last points needed on a gift card but they couldn’t confidently answer if the charge would post in time (it was a weekend, my closing was 12/18)

Your daughter got lucky, she still got to her destination. My mom and I got rebooked when the check-in agents couldn't get customers' bags checked in in a timely manner the morning of my flight (despite getting there 2 hours early). A bunch of people missed their flights and got rebooked. We ended up with a flight that had a connection and Southwest cancelled the second leg to our final destination. Bought tickets out of pocket. And then our flight home was cancelled to...ugh. I would report the lost bag here and also attach receipts for what your daughter spent on clothing. Supposedly, Southwest will reimburse for costs within reason: https://support.southwest.com/email-us/s/. I'm using this to request reimbursements for my costs as well...not sure how long it'll take to get the reimbursements since they're going to get thousands of requests, so we'll see...

If it lets you do it, then there would be a credit hanging out there for the third person until they were resolved.
I say go ahead and take it next time it pops up, you won’t lose the third person’s value, but might need to call to get them rebooked separately - if it lets you claim the two seats at all which it may not.

It is OK to reach out to your recruiter/HR hiring person when you are at this point. The particular person may be on PTO last week and this week. They may also be in the office this week. We have a company holiday on Monday 1/2/2023. I would email or call them (if you have their number). I currently work for SWA.

Thanks for the reply! We just found out that our flight tomorrow has been cancelled. I can't get ahold of anyone at Southwest, as the number is always busy.
With our flights continuing to be cancelled, would they still ship our luggage or would it still be at the San Diego airport?

Is it frustrating or perhaps disappointing to have your vacation travel canceled? Of course, my family's trip to FL was canceled, but it's not the end of the world. I appreciate that Southwest prioritizes safety over schedule. And I certainly would not take my frustration out on the pilots, FA's, gate agents, customer service reps, or anyone else.
Can Southwest improve operations, undoubtedly; they've always had a continuous improvement model, I'm sure they'll learn from this event and make things better in the future.
In the meantime, thank you Southwest for being the best airline possible, and I hope operations return to normal as quickly as possible.

Yep same situation happened to my mom however she didn’t find out until boarding they told her your not on this flight and when she got to the gate agent they were able to get her a seat but it was rough
hopefully it works out or even if you get 2 of you on the flight it will be easier to rebook 1 instead of 3

And the lines to speak with someone at a gate or check-in station or baggage claim were over 50 people. I live 45 minutes away from the Denver airport. Should I go out there and try to find something out? I'm thinking of booking on another airline but how do I let SW know to send my checked bag forward or will it just sit where it was checked? This can't be the first time this has happened. Why don't they have some online information advising us?
