Yes, cancel and rebook.   You can;t just change the flight. The requirement is based on confirmation number creation date. If that number is created outside of the required dates, it won;t be eligible for the promotion.   If you're booking business select flights, you'll earn a boatload of points. ... View more

Points purchases are non refundable.   It's buyer beware when it comes to them. Purchased points almost always result in a flight that costs more than a regular flight.   The ONLY time it might make sense to buy a FEW points is if you are a few points short of what you need to buy a ticket.   If you want to give the gift of flight to someone, give them a SW gift card. ... On your outbound flight you will have your bags checked to the final destination. On the return flight , US Customs regs require you to retrieve your bags, and recheck them. I'm not familiar with how that's done in Fll, but at most airports you dothat within the area where you pick up your bags. I presume that is how it;s done at FLL. ... View more

When people are concerned about seats elling out before they can add a companion, they typically buy the tickets and then have  the airline cancel them out as the companions are added.   RR points tickets are best. Points are refunded. Other tickets would be refunded as travel credits - except Anytime and Business Select which would be a refund to the original forms of payment. ... View more

Flight credits used to expire That changed on July 28, 2022.   If your credits had an expiration date before 7/28/22, then they expired.   You mentioned a 6 digit confirmation number.
