Another reason to always try and book with points. I know conventional wisdom says it's a bad idea to buy points because you pay slightly more, up the upside is that it is 100% refundable. I look at it as travel insurance.

It's a common misconception. Southwest Vacations is not operated by Southwest directly, but by a third party. Despite this, it is still a Southwest product and service, Southwest just doesn't operate it themselves.
Southwest Hotels is similar - Booking.com runs that operation.

Make sure in your correspondence that you are clear whether you were flying to Dallas Love Field (DAL) or Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) if someone is trying to look up your flights and can't find them it won't help them to validate your claims.

I agree with the previous comments, Kansas City (MCI) isn't tricky at all, and if you get let off right in front of the check-in area, it's just in the door and go. If you're not checking bags, get let off right at the door with TSA. I've done this airport all the time at an hour before take-off and still had to sit and wait.
Agree, there is basically no walking due to the “pod” setup. If there is anything tricky at 6:15 a.m. I don’t know but it is a really fast airport to get through.

I signed up for the same offer spent over 5k 2wks after opening my card to ensure once statement closed i got my offer. Clld Chase whom said my statement closed and I have to wait until next month. I asked why the 5800 spent on ccard was tranx in points not the 30k bonus or the CP. They said wait to next, for which I think there is a system issue and maybe my offer is not connected.
They are tellng me i have to wait. I opened my acct 3/6 by 3/20 i met the 5k, statement closed 4/5 for which they verified i met my quota before statement closed. But they are saying I have to wait until next month. Did you get any help from anyone? I feel this is quite deceptive.

Man that's a tough one, I have serious doubts that any fare will go down for a flight less than 2 weeks out, but stranger things have happened.
(An option if you're a regular flyer, or even a semi regular flyer, just buy the ticket and then rebook if the price drops, and bank the credit for your next flight.)
Best of luck

Sorry Andrew, your answer just doesn’t cut it. I have companion status and a list for 9 years since we moved from Long Island to South Florida. It is an insult that Southwest has taken down daily nonstops to PBI/FLL. Not even during high season! I have to conclude that they no longer value my business.

Why?
Streaming hogs bandwidth. In flight WiFi is already bandwidth limited, and allowing inflight streaming would make it even more so.

@sandybeachs1981 To each their own, but you said you were told, (however it was, polite, rude, aggressive) in my mind that is irrelevant, I (and I hope the majority of people) would have turned around and taken it back and been on the phone with SWA what had "honest mistake" happened, and about when you ETA would be, no matter what time of the night it was.
Segway into your comment, SWA didn't take into consideration......well maybe you weren't either by not wanting to get the valuables and maybe needed content of the person's bag you mistakenly took. (Meds, extra money, etc.) You then were appalled by being asked to return them. (I'm not going to address at all the demeanor of how anyone addressed each other) Also, maybe that is the protocol, if someone doesn't want to return somebody else property immediately, the police are called.
I can only bet you are honest at heart, but you wanted a more favorable solution to your benefit that didn't happen. I can't say your post has gone for not, I will forever going forward double-take the name on the bag before I pick it up...oh, and which is why I have the most outrageous bag already that there really isn't another like it.

Masks are not fun, but the requirement is only a big deal if you want it to be, in my opinion. Planes in general are full, although Thursday night my flight from Hobby was maybe only half full, stretched out and slept across three seats for 2 hours.
Things are pretty much business as usual, safe travels!

If you are interesting for any more detailed commentary or routing suggestions let us know the city pair. Are you looking at Business Select fares or was this for WGA? Is it an international destination? That's quite a fare you mentioned and I'm curious about the constraints going into it - three weeks advance? international? Business Select?

Wanted to put it out there - do you think that Newark (EWR) is on Southwest's list of destinations in the future? Without it, they have no destinations serving New Jersey (other than LGA which can be a headache to get to from the Garden State).
You could always tell SW that you'd like to see the service restored by clicking on "contact us" below..

I hate to be perceived as a shill for SWA, but Southwest has been selling 3 tiers of fares for well over 10 years. They are very clear about refundable versus non-refundable purchases. It appears in this case they have extended the validity of travel funds by at least 1 year, 2 years overall), this is more generous than any other airline, (most other airlines subtract punitive rebooking fees to credits from cancelled flights even when they extended usage windows for Covid.) Rules are rules.
I am sorry to hear you are disappointed but make the best of it, travel sooner. In the future pay for refundable tickets no matter what airline you choose.
Safe travels

Sorry that you felt 'cheated'!
The travel industry is becoming more and more confusing these days. While there may not have been a need to read the fine print before, it's especially important today. If it helps, I think Southwest is the best when it comes to not having their customers feel 'cheated' - out of many carriers from the US, Southwest is the most straightforward through their Transfarency policy and while the name 'Business Select' could be confusing, I'm sure when you were prompted to upgrade, the kiosk listed what you would be getting in return (ie upgraded boarding, drink coupon, 12 points/dollar, etc), not stating anything about seating.
Southwest's customer service is kind of swamped right now so I do not know if you would get a response, but I would recommend emailing them or tweeting them about your experience. While they may not be able to offer compensation, it's always good to reach out (like what you are doing on this forum) and let the company/other travelers know so that they can be informed.

Right. That's why I said it doesn't help with full flights.

If your husband is a big guy and would spill in to the next seat he could take advantage of the customer of size policy where he can get a 2nd seat for no charge and it would get him pre boarding and more room however just being tall won’t qualify him for the policy.
if he is just tall then that’s not a reason to preboard. If he has a medical reason then yes he could preboard.

I understand both points of view on Wi-Fi, but since Free Wi-Fi is one of the very few perks of A-List Preferred status it would be nice if it worked better. For me personally, I work in a just in time, on call world, and the option to plug in and interact is a financial benefit to my company and ultimately me.
I will say that when the wi-fi is working (and my phone is in airplane mode), it now rings during flights unless I disable the wi-fi calling feature. Just a bit embarrassing 🙄
