Maybe the mask mandate will be lifted by June or the age could change then you wouldn’t have to worry. Only time will tell

So good news you can now save frequent travelers and book for them on southwest.com no more needing to look up the family’s information. Hopefully this will expand to the app soon but as of now it is only available on the website.
happy flying!

Thanks, last time I just stuck a tag on it, closed it, and laid it on the belt. It arrived like that at Austin TX airport, but on the belt over in the corner, for odd/irregular baggage I guess. I may try to find a box/wrapping; but that may actually cause more headache in anyone handling it than just leaving it free. Its not high dollar, like a $20 chair at Walgreens!

I've done this before and was grateful they allowed it, even with the $100 fee. I fly other major airlines also. None of them have such a policy at all. At 365th day your credit is totally done and over. I don't consider this policy ridiculous at all.

You mean "full flight", not "overbooked flight". They are different things.
A full flight just means people want to fly, and aren't afraid of it. People like me who have flown the entire pandemic and never caught Covid in a plane, but instead caught it on the ground... twice. The second time after the vaccine.
So really... flying is the least of your worries right now.

The proposed resolution was either/or - not and/both. The airline was “not” willing to do anything. The employee (agent) clearly did “not” understand the terms of the promotion (as explained to us). The ticket was purchased based on the assurance from the agent that we would qualify. I guess what you’re saying is that employees are not a good source information for how things (like companion promotions) work. At least you and I agree that customers should not rely on what employees say.
They can't add a companion pass like that it isn't one of the things a phone rep can do, and refunding is also an issue. The best you could probably do is get a LUV voucher but if you won't be flying Southwest then that offering wouldn't be useful to you anyway.

Not sure what happened in your case.
I went back and checked and found that i got the e-mail notifying me that I had qualified on the same date as my second qualifying flight.
edit add: my guess is that, for whatever reason, SW's computer system did not think that you had qualified

When booking a reservation with multiple travelers a travel fund for a single passenger can be used. As long as the passenger to whom the travel fund belongs is included in the reservation the travel fund can be applied. If there is excess value on the travel fund it will remain in the travel fund and will not be applied to other passengers. The remaining due balance for other passengers will need to be paid with another form of payment.

Travel funds are restricted to use by the originally named passenger only, so you can't use them for someone else -- or for a pet. Southwest only accepts credit cards for payment of the pet fee, LUV Vouchers, gift cards, travel funds and cash are not accepted. The pet fee is fully refundable, however, should the planned travel be cancelled after check-in and payment of the fee.
I'll echo the comments above -- you'll need to reach out to Southwest directly if you'd like to make sure your suggestions are heard by the correct people.
(With regards to why the pet fee is [currently] $95, even on a less expensive flight: be aware that the fee functions primarily as a deterrent, or limiting factor, to help ensure the plane isn't filled with pets.)

Scour your emails for the original purchase which will have the confirmation #'s for everyone, If you bought them "all together" there will likely be only a single confirmation #, but travel funds for your kids will only show up when you enter the confirmation # and the first and last name of your kids individually. (when it's linked to you on your RR# only the funds for you individually will show up travel funds are non-transferable.)
Best of luck

Good thought, but as noted this is a customer forum. When I set up my wife as a companion it flows automatically with her RR# number along with her KTN.
I do this on a full function laptop not a phone or Tablet. "App" Full-functionality can be very suspect with alot of airline websites. Maybe that's the problem?

The statement, "All spending done within the month of December will not apply to your current year pass," is simply not true. My CC statement posted on December 20th for purchases made thru December 18th and the spend/points went to my 2021 spend. (I wish they had been credited to 2022 since I had crossed the 125000 point threshold in November BUT they did NOT.)

The Delta extension does NOT apply to Basic Economy. From a comparison stand point, SWA already offers cash refunds on flights except for "Wanna Get Away" fares AKA "Basic Economy"

Did you ever get this resolved? I am having a similar issue I checked for my companion pass on Jan 6th and nothing. I never got any emails that I registered sucessfully and I never got an acknowledgment that I completed my roundtrip after October 16th. I called today and was put on hold while they researched for about 15 minutes. When they came back online, she said that I was not eligible because I never registered between 9/7 and 9/9. I am 100% certain that I registered for the promotion on 9/9 and booked my flight at 11:30pm that evening right before it ended. There was no point in arguing with her, it's my word against hers, but since I found this thread, it seems like I am not the only one that had this issue. Thanks

You can use up to 3 forms of payment when making a reservation, so it sounds like your 2 travel funds will be enough to cover your flight, so you should be good to go!

I fly into Midway several times a year, I would avoid a connection here in January and February just because of well "The Winter." In the Summer, I typically feel pretty comfortable connecting here.
My "home" airport is BWI and I can usually pivot and recover from any weather issues here because so many flights go thru here and bad weather doesn't typically linger.

You sure can, I recently did this myself with a few travel funds I have, but a note of caution that *if* you apply travel funds and then cancel your flight, your resulting travel funds will be given the expiration date of the earliest travel funds that you applied to your reservation.
So, let's say you book a flight on January 1, 2022. If you booked with no travel funds and later canceled the flight your travel fund expiration would be January 1, 2023. But let's say you had a travel fund that was expiring on May 1, 2022 that you wanted to use up. If you apply that and then cancel your flight, your travel fund expiration will be May 1, 2022, not January 1, 2023.
Southwest explains this, and more Travel Fund FAQ, on this page: https://www.southwest.com/faq/travel-funds

Make the changes if your objective is to see a friend, everything else is just static along the way.
If I understand correctly you'll end up with 3 flights instead of 2, that ultimately is a benefit for A list status anyway

Our closing date is January 4.
Am I understanding this correctly--anything we charge starting now will post in 2022?
We have to charge $25K ASAP to get Companion & we have some large purchases coming up. (OK DH is anxious to order golf clubs...not sure why when he likely can't use them until his golf trip in late Feb.)
I don't want to mess this thing up!
I doubt that it’s worth $25k unless you were going to buy the things anyway.
If the CP holder flew 100 times at $200 each on average it’s still only a $20,000 value…? Would the pass be used 100 times?
Anyway, you will need to buy some things direct through Southwest Shopping or Rocketmiles instead of relying solely on credit card spending if you want this to happen before end of year.

Since the information about exemption policies is rather vague on Southwest's website I suggest you contact Southwest directly to get an answer. If you can reach the person who informed you that you were approved for the exemption that would be great.

Make sure you aren't checking bags. I always find it a bit wonky when I fly standby on SWA, I'll get my confirmation of change but always seem to get called to the desk at the gate just prior to boarding, "to make sure I'm there?"
