Depends. If the booking says something like book this hotel and earn 5000 points then they would all count towards CP. If it's a booking that says earn 1000 points PLUS get 4000 points as a bonus for your first booking or something like that, then only the 1000 would count towards CP. Bonus points do not count towards CP.

You didn't specify your daughter's age, but Southwest provides some tips for young travelers flying alone. Those tips include, "It is recommended that you (the parent) stay in the gate area until the YT’s flight is in the air." This is probably even more important in bad weather situations like you described. You can read more at: https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/family/young-travelers.html

Southwest did sell them at one point in time, but no longer do. They only send coupons now after you complete 10 revenue flights. I've heard of people selling them on various sites online so that might be one way off getting them.

Best answer is "keep checking". If people who booked in the lower price "bucket" cancel then those lower fares may reappear. At this point my guess would be that you won't see the lower fare again, but no one can really say what will happen.

Southwest has non-stop flights from Belize to Denver, Houston, and Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, January 21st. If the 2:10pm non-stop to Denver is canceled your best bet is the 5pm flight to Houston, then get the 1020pm flight from Houston to Denver. That's the second option listed when you search for a flight from Belize to Denver on southwest.com. I would put decent money on the flights operating as scheduled, the amount of snow predicted in Denver is not anything unusual and is well within normal operating levels. But, airlines do weird things. Good luck!

I couldn't find the exact announcement, but back in November they announced some changes to the drink selections. Most drinks will remain unchanged. I was able to find this summary: Starting December 1, Blue Moon will be phased in as the seasonal beer offering. In addition, Bud Light will be permanently replaced with Lagunitas as a regular beer offering (alongside Miller Lite, Dos Equis, and Fat Tire). Starting January 1, Seven Up will replace Sprite and Sprite Zero will be replaced with Canada Dry Lemon Lime sparking water.

I've not heard of any changes, particularly ones that treat domestic flights differently than international flights or how points are refunded. I'm confused though because you said: He was worried about changing the flight which makes it non-refundable Is this a points reservation? Or a BS/AT fare?

It's an issue with the timing of the return flights, you won't be able to book a single reservation for flights from Punta Cana to Omaha. Flights from Punta Cana are routing through Chicago (because Omaha has non-stop service to Chicago) and the earliest arrival into Chicago is too late to catch a flight to Omaha. Southwest won't let you make a reservation for flights that require an overnight stay, that's why you aren't seeing any return flights. You would need to purchase a Punta Cana to Chicago flight, then also purchase a Chicago to Omaha flight the next day, and book a hotel room in Chicago for the overnight.

Only idea I can think of is to call and request the current reservation be split into two PNRs, one for three people, one for two. This can be done without affecting the price. Specify which people you want together so there's some rationale for doing it, then either rebook while you're on the call or hang up and do it online. Hopefully the cheaper tickets are still available when you're done with the call.

Very small waiting area in SAN, not many free seats when I was there a few weeks ago. I stood at the counter to eat a fairly decent burger and fries from The Counter which is in the middle of circular gate area. My attempt to get doughnuts in the other terminal didn't go as planned, got all the way over there, through security, only to find out they were sold out. The other terminal is really nice compared to Southwest's space.

It's generally one of the standard issues.... You're trying to book travel (perhaps the return flight of trip) that is past the expiration date of the funds (one year from the date of original purchase) OR you're trying to apply funds associated with another passenger who is not traveling. Have you tried booking each person's travel individually, booking one leg at a time? You can also look up details about the travel fund, including expiration date and value at https://www.southwest.com/flight/travel-funds-search.html

A little time on my hands so I found the specific flight times. The 510 departure arrives in San Diego at 615 and departs for Tucson at 650. Crew would probably let you deplane if you insisted, but you'd only have time for a quick bathroom run and then you'd board last when you return to the gate as you'd miss the boarding process. The advantage of staying on the plane is being able to move seats and pick a preferred spot such as an exit row or front row. You didn't specify why you wanted to deplane so I can't offer advice about should or shouldn't.

Flights booked using points can be canceled up until 10 minutes before the flight and all points will be refunded back to the RR account they came from. Any taxes paid via credit card are also refunded or in some cases held as credit for a future flight. No reason not to book it. Technically, you could just not show up for the flight and still get a refund, but cancelling is the preferred method.

There's no information regarding Hawaii service currently available. Based on general information and limitations of a 737, flights will probably originate from west coast cities, not Chicago, you would need to make a connection.

You're able to select the flight you want to change, but unable to search for a new flight? In my experience (which has only been with one way flights) when you select change it brings up a whole new search that you can put any city/date into. If you don't have that option and as this is a round-trip booking, you'll probably need to call to get it done. Southwest will most likely have to split the reservation into two PNRs then change the outbound flight. Shouldn't be a problem, except for the long time waiting on hold.

If you qualify for preboarding you should use it, regardless of your fare status. I'd bet plenty of companions flying for free use it.

If all passengers have the exact same itinerary then you can purchase all flights, including multiple legs of a trip, in one transaction. When checking out you have the opportunity to input the name and Rapid Rewards account number for each passenger. BUT, as @KimVanderKley has stated, purchasing each passenger's flights individually and as one way flights provides the most flexibility, offering you the ability to change an individual person's itinerary, cancel an individual flight, and rebook flights to get credit for price drops, all without having to call Southwest. It can be a pain to check-in everyone though as each person has to be checked in separately.

Southwest lets A-List and A-List Preferred members can fly standby on any earlier flight on the same day free of charge. Purchasing a Business Select or Anytime fare also lets you change flights same day without charge. Sounds like you don't have status and purchased a Wanna Get Away fare so therefore the policy is to pay the fare difference between what you originally paid for your ticket and what the current fare is. Tickets are more expensive on the day of travel, even versus the night before, 99% of the time so the price jump you saw is not unexpected. Yes, other airlines offer different same day change options that can be better or worse depending on the specific travel situation.

The $100 charge is basically the standard rate for getting travel funds (good for a specific passenger) converted to a voucher (not passenger specific). Usually you have to wait a year when the travel funds expire to do this conversion so I'm very surprised they made that offer to you now and even after expiration it's up to the representative to decide if you can do this, there's no formal, published policy. In other words, you'll be lucky if you actually get what they said you could get. Southwest's standard policy when issuing credit for a price drop is what you heard, funds are issued back to the passenger, not the person paying for the ticket. There's no fee to do that so it's a far better policy than any other airline despite it not being perfect. My advice (if you want it), take the travel funds as you've been issued and have a nice weekend. You can apply them towards a trip that completes within a year of your original purchase. If for some reason you don't use them, then call in at that time and ask that expired travel funds be reinstated and pay the $100 per travel fund. That's a pretty hefty price drop if you can lose $100 of value and still have something left.

A-List status and Companion Pass are earned based on flights flown or RR points earned in a single calendar year. You need to earn 110,000 points between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018 to earn Companion Pass for the remainder of 2018 and all of 2019. Points earned in previous years are yours to redeem towards flights, but do not count towards CP.
