With a 12 year old you can still get a passenger escort to accompany the child to the gate and meet them at the gate at the destination, the only piece you're really missing out on is the "monitoring" of the child during flight. I'm a parent, I know all kids are different, but given a book, handheld game, or even just a pillow I think most can handle the flight. Discuss the flight with them so they know what to expect, make sure they know to follow crew member directions, and let them know to call on a member of the flight crew if they need assistance with anything during the flight.

Moving your spend to another card is one approach, nothing wrong with that. The other way to look at it is to keep spending and rack up points via CC for when you shift to burning points. Here's how I would handle your situation.... once you've earned CP for the year via CC and reached whatever flying status you think you'll finish the year at (AL or ALP), you should start burning points, purchasing all remaining flights for the year with points. If you don't need additional points from CC to buy all remaining flights with points or think points in another program are more valuable then go ahead and switch your preferred CC. "still no real answer here. What happens if I hit the 110,000 points on lets say Feb. 1. 2018. I already have the CP for 2018. So I would only have the CP for 12 months starting Jan. 1, 2019." Not sure what you're really expecting here. The program is pretty clear that once you earn enough points for CP you get it for the remainder of the calendar year and all of the next year. If you already have CP you still earn it for the next year. With your example, you have CP in 2018 because you earned it in 2017 and then in 2018 if you earn enough points you'll get CP for 2019.

No. Once you earn 110k points in 2017 you'll earn CP valid through 2018. You'll then have to earn another 110k points in 2018 to get CP for 2019.

Based on the information on Cuba Travel Services website (Southwest's partner in Cuban visas), Southwest has arranged for the $35 processing fee to be waived. Probably because Southwest is doing part of the work issuing the visa and it's not being shipped. There appears to be no other difference. You can compare here: https://cubavisaservices.com/product/sw-visa-card/ https://cubavisaservices.com/product/touristvisa-card/

RR points can only be used for Southwest flights. Perhaps you are asking about other points earned from a credit card? If so, you'll need to ask your credit card company.

@3369 for your privacy, please edit your post and remove the names and confirmation number ASAP Assuming you bought a Wanna Get Away fare... Standard policy allows you to cancel, but funds would have to be used by the same passenger. Sounds like the passenger will not be flying anytime so that's not real helpful to you. People have contacted Southwest and explained situations like this and have been able to get refunds, but I don't think it's common. Start by giving them a call.

From southwest.com click on "change/cancel" and enter your confirmation number and name. No fee to cancel, but type of refund depends on fare type purchased. You'll either get a credit for future use (Wanna Get Away fare, complete rebooked travel within one year of original purchase) or refund (Business Select and Anytime fares).

I use the FlightView app on my phone which lets you look up flights by flight number and you'll see each leg of the flight. In your example, WN 3536 is coming from DCA today. Google'ing the flight number "WN 3536" gives you the same information.

You can do this if you book the two legs separately and have them as your companion on the second leg, but not as you're describing. If your companion doesn't board for the first leg, their entire reservation is canceled.

Personally I didn't understand the big fuss about these emails. They were clearly sent in error to a lot of people, many of which were nowhere near close to qualifying. Yeah it sucks to get excited then be let down, but mistakes happen and besides saying sorry I don't know what people expected to be done. Giving CP to everyone just because of an email error would be insane. When you inquired two weeks before end of year, how close were you? Are you aware you can track your CP qualifying points in your account online?

"Southwest will accept the first two checked bags for free provided that the bags do not exceed 50 lbs and 62 inches (L+W+H)". Going over either limit would make the bag oversized. Measure the bag after you have filled it and while it's on the ground, just like it would be when you check it.

@FEB18 Yes, use the change flight option mentioned above to rebook and you'll get a refund of points if there was a price drop. If you change the flight, EarlyBird stays on the flight. Canceling and rebooking the flight loses EarlyBird. It's also been mentioned that changing the flight like you're proposing adjusts your place in the queue for EarlyBird and your boarding position will probably not be as good as it would be if you didn't rebook. You'll want to consider if the price drop is worth a drop in boarding position.

I was able to find flights from Tulsa to Cabo, Belize, and Puerto Vallarta, other international destinations should work as well. I would suggest you use the Low Fare Calendar to search, that way you can easily see days that flights are available. Searching on a specific date can be be difficult and lead to errors if no flights are available on the particular day you searched. With the calendar you can quickly see what days are available. The Low Fare Calendar is here: https://www.southwest.com/flight/shortcut/low-fare-search.html?clk=GSUBNAV-AIR-LFCLNDR Let me know if you are looking for something specific and you're still having trouble.

Venture card points can be redeemed for statement credit on travel purchases at the rate of one cent per mile and you have to do so in minimum increments of 2,500 miles so the most you'll get out of 60,000 Venture points is $600 worth of travel. Southwest RR points have a better redemption rate (last I remember seeing was 1.6-1.8 cents/RR point) and there's no minimum increment or reimbursement, you just use your points to buy flights.

The link @franktravel provided above describes how TSA screens breast milk. In my past experience the screening has been quick and non-invasive. We all cringe when talking about TSA, but they do try to be sensitive to situations like this. Just calmly and politely explain your situation. Also, as mentioned before, give yourself plenty of extra time to get through security.

Yes. If the reservation is associated with your RR account, log into your account on the mobile app and you will see the boarding pass in the Manage Trips section. If the reservation is not associated with your account you can enter the confirmation number and your name in the Check In section to retrieve it. I recommend taking a screenshot of your boarding pass so you don't have to pull it up in the app each time you need it.

But travel funds still expire one year from when you booked the original flight. Rebooking and canceling does not extend the expiration. Rebook and cancel as much as you want, but only within the one year period.

I love how it's "very important" that you are comfortable and that you are able to determine everyone preboarding is faking a disability and that only you are on a tight schedule. I like flying Southwest because they don't cater solely to those who feel entitled to something. As suggested earlier, maybe Southwest isn't the airline for you. And I'm sure Southwest has considered various boarding options, including those you mentioned, and determined the current process is the simplest and best fit for them.
