Are they being transported as cargo or baggage? I think you would need to get that cleared up with the shipper. My guess is cargo which is handled at another location, not baggage claim. Your shipper should have details provided to them from Southwest.

I understand you're frustrated at the situation, but it is quite rude to demand that people smile for you. How do you know the employee's father wasn't having health issues? Oh that's right, you don't care. Having just used a kiosk in the past day I don't agree at all with your assessment about the interface, but as was suggested earlier you can provide your feedback directly to Southwest. If it were me I would stick with the constructive feedback about the kiosk and leave out everything else.

I think you can book both with points and leave your RR number off one of the reservations. Then if you decide to keep the one without the RR number, add it to the reservation after you cancel the other booking.
As you can make a points booking for anyone, your RR number does not need to be on it.

The FAA and DOT have no oversight regarding what may be considered rude or unhelpful behavior of an employee.
Use the contact us link at the bottom of this page and send a message with your comments. Be sure to include the flight number and date so Southwest can look into the matter.

I agree the situation was not handled well, my point is there's nothing that can be done now. Perhaps Southwest will offer you some sort of voucher if you clarify that you only took the flight to earn CP, however I would not expect a "refund" for the flight. You'll want to put the request in writing, use the contact us link at the bottom of this page and send a message or mail a letter.

Now, I'm not sure how this works under one confirmation number, as I've never booked that way, someone else may be able to clarify this.
Two people on the same reservation, neither A-List and not on Companion Pass, are both checked in at the same time during the check-in process. They should get sequential boarding positions or at least very close together.
@jazzpilot56 wrote:
- A-List on a Business Select ticket: The A-List traveler is automatically assigned an A1 to A15 boarding position 36 hours in advance. However, and this is important, the Companion Pass traveler must check-in separately or purchase upgraded seating. My personal opinion is that this is a glitch, as the Companion Pass traveler should automatically be assigned a boarding position 36 hours in advance to at least be reasonably close to the Business Select boarding position. If I'm traveling Business Select (which I always do if I'm buying a ticket), then I also purchase Early-Bird for my companion to eliminate this issue.
Agree, it seems like Southwest could address this situation better and provide some sort of automatic check-in for the companion of a BS ticketed passenger. Buying EarlyBird is a good way to handle it, but seems unfair to add additional costs in this situation where the most expensive ticket is being purchased.

Booked on a Companion Pass:
- A-List, but Business Select ticket (I'm only specifying this as I can't see someone getting a Companion Pass without also being at least A-List):
I think you would be surprised at the number of people who have Companion Pass without A-List status. It's so easy to earn CP without flying at all or perhaps just flying 2 flights like the promotion that occrued late last year. Having CP without status is pretty common.
@jazzpilot56 I appreciate your perspective on things, thanks for the post.

Not the answer you want to hear, but now that the promotion period is over nothing is going to be done. There's no good process in place to handle exceptions to the earning criteria which would be required as your 2nd flight was outside the qualification period and there's no process to grant you Companion Pass for some period of time outside of the promotion window that ended March 4.

I believe mandatory retirement age for pilots is 65. That seems to indicate retirement would occur before turning 65, but perhaps it could be during the year of being 65, not after.

There's something about the connection that makes it invalid. If you provide dates we can look at the details or you can look at the length of the layover and number of connections required to complete the trip, those are the usual issues.
You can book it as two separate reservations if you think you can make the connection.

Since the companion can be added quickly and at the last minute, cancel the companion reservations now, book wife a paid fare, with points or fully refundable if you want refundability, then if you do decide to go, cancel the paid reservations for your wife and add the companion reservations. Definitely do not have multiple reservations for the same person.

@floridaguy the issue for you is 1)no one will believe you if you say you got a refund and 2)no one trusts you to admit you didn't get a refund.
That's the problem when all your posts have been unhelpful, you have no credibility.
It is possible you find one phone agent who feels sorry for you. By policy though, EarlyBird is non-refundable.

Keep in mind your boarding position would have been worse without EarlyBird. Why it continues to be seen as primarily a way to improve your boarding position baffles me, its main purpose is to check you in so you don't have to worry about it. It's perfect for times when you are on vacation or have an early morning flight and you don't want to deal with checking in 24 hours prior to departure. For improving boarding position, upgraded boarding within 24 hours of departure is the way to go.

@floridaguy so? As stated earlier there are multiple reasons for that to occur. Your post does not help the OP determine if they should be receiving sequential boarding.

@Lightcs I believe you would have the option to have the taxes refunded back to the method of payment or held as travel credits. I will actually defer to @bec102896, he uses far more vouchers than I do.

No, this trip was booked back in Sept. in fact she had purchased the anytime fares because that was the only available fares left.
This raises all sorts of new questions. You imply wife purchased her own ticket, that indicates she was not added as a companion. This also implies her ticket was not purchased with yours as you say it was the only available fare. If both these are true there's no way for Southwest to give you consecutive boarding. You'll need to provide more specific details about your bookings, but at this point I don't see how you were eligible for it. Wife would either need to be added as a companion via a companion pass or one of you are A-List and tickets were purchased on the same reservation. Did either of these occur?

This is a great writeup about the various factors that can affect companion boarding positions. As stated, there is no policy that allows you to say "I'm with them"and board together, you have to board at your assigned boarding position. I would bet in this case there was a flight change or companion added within 36 hours of departure.

As long as you booked the flights as one single reservation the bags will be checked all the way through to your final destination and you will not go through security again. Lots of food options in Denver and an Amex Centurion lounge if you have access. Enjoy the trip.

This is a customer to customer community, you will need to contact Southwest directly for assistance. Use the contact us link below and send a message.
You will want to specify if you cancelled the flight or if Southwest cancelled the flight. If you cancelled the flight you were most likely given travel funds which have now expired and are well past the point of being available to you. You may also want to provide some information about why you have waited 4 years to request the credit.

While technically they probably just need more time, I rarely see anyone utilizing that option. It's simpler to preboard and 99% of the time utilizing a wheelchair = preboarding
No need for them to buy EarlyBird since assigned boarding position does not matter.
