Your bags were lost for 3 weeks (not permanently) and you claimed $6000 in expenses? Seriously?
You also said that you flew AA which perhaps I'm making a poor assumption to read that you flew American Airlines. I'm going to guess this is @floridaguy trying to troll us all again with some more of his usual BS, giving him an excuse to make colorful, meaningless posts.

That's great that you had such a good experience. You may want to write to Southwest directly so they can learn of your great service. Use the contact us link at the bottom of the page and send a message.

I agree with you. Ask for a refund regardless of what some frequent contributor says.
Based on what? Please don't say "didn't get value", that's garbage. What legitimate reason could the OP provide to Southwest if they were to waste the time requesting a refund?

Yep, both passengers get the A-List benefit with consecutive positions, regardless of who holds the status.
Sidenote... you want to know why people without status who purchase EarlyBird don't get A or even low B boarding positions? See above. More people than ever are benefiting from A-List status.

This is a tricky one. At this point there's no way to guarantee they all have consecutive boarding positions. I do think since everyone else has EarlyBird and an 8 year old is not going to remember to check-in 24 hours prior to departure, or perhaps can't while on the cruise, I would suggest you purchase EarlyBird just so the child gets checked in automatically. It's likely his boarding position will be a higher number than the family so the question then is how does everyone sit together. If there are multiple adults, you could have one adult board with the 8 year old while everyone else boards in their better/lower boarding positions. Those people that go ahead would need to save 2 seats (one for adult and one for 8 year old). Saving 2 middle seats in the back two-thirds of the plane should not be that difficult. That's my suggestion, hopefully it works out for you all.

At this point I don't see any chance you'll get an exception or credit. As you noted, credits that were unexpired on, or created on or after July 28, 2022 no longer expire. Yours unfortunately did not meet that criteria. You also have missed the previous unwritten policy of allowing travel funds that had been expired for less than 6 months be reinstated as vouchers. Now that you're past that there's really no precedence for what you are asking for. I know it's not what you want to hear, but it's most likely what Southwest will continue to tell you. You've called so the only other suggestion would be to write. Use the contact us link at the bottom of this page and send a message with all your details. Good luck

Yes, that was acknowledged in the very first response to the OP. What created the additional discussion was your incorrect assertion that Southwest was violating some non-existent federal law.

@floridaguy SIGH!!! Did you actually read that??? It's ALL about employment.
"your employer refuses to allow you"
"you are not eligible to be promoted"
"during a training session at work"
"your colleague complains of being called a 'wrinkly' at work"
Please, please, please GO AWAY

@floridaguy ok Mr. Legal Expert, please show me one example where age discrimination laws apply to something other than employment or hiring. They certainly do not apply to where you can sit on a plane.

If the gate agent actually announced that "over 50" was a restriction, they are in violation of Federal laws covering discrimination. I would contact their office and demand accountability for such blatant disregard for persons "over 50".
@floridaguy Are you actually serious??? Please tell me you're just being annoying and not serious. Age discrimination laws only apply to hiring and employment practices. Why do you continue to post such nonsense???

@floridaguy It doesn't matter if you fly Delta, United, Frontier, Emirates, Southwest, or any other airline, you don't get refunds just because you didn't get the "value" you expected. How is this "preserving and defending" anyone?

While there is one "contributor" who may disagree with those of us with actual knowledge of Southwest, the truth is the system worked as expected and there is no justification for a refund. Not knowing what you are buying is no excuse for requesting a refund. If you don't think it's worth the charge then don't buy it again, but you got what you paid for and cannot justify a refund. Yes, all views are welcome, it's just some are not based in any sort of truth or reality.

When you make reservations make sure your Rapid Rewards account number is included on your reservation and that your name matches the RR account name.
