No, you can use a voucher to book a flight, cancel the flight, and receive a travel credit, but not points. RR points are worth roughly 1.4 cents per point so $100 is equal to about 7142 points.

Buy Business select you get the better position buy WGA get worse position so it’s kind of like that. Buy Anytime fare get middle of the pool of boarding passes since it comes with EB check in.

@iiflyswa hmm, that is strange. My experience is the annual fee posts on the first statement after the actual anniversary date so in your case that would put your anniversary date sometime in September, which makes your experiences the timing of your credits even more odd. I'm glad you were able to get multiple credits!

I’ve flown Southwest for business travel out of Houston Hobby airport for many years, but for the last month or so I noticed significantly fewer non-stop flights available. Several route I fly regularly such as Sacramento and Jacksonville have no non-stops at all now. Could this be due to route changes since the issues in December?
There was a noticeable shift towards short-haul flights so that across the whole network it seemed like there was a bit more expectation that flyers going a longer distance might be more likely to be making a connection.
Some of the longer non-stops are still out there, it sounds like if you can move dates around there might be some options.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately Southwest often contracts their own wheelchair third party separate from the airports. We have never had a problem with the airports contactor but have had differing answers with Southwests.

I will be traveling alone with my three kids (ages 5, 9 & 10) from Sacramento to Oklahoma. Pre-boarding question. I know we would qualify for the family pre-boarding but wanted to find out if I purchased the Early Bird boarding for myself would I need to purchase for each child also or would they go with me? Trying to figure out the best way to do this. We have only flown a few times and this would be the first time without my husband traveling with us.
Also that would be the best seating arrangement. All three kids in one row and me in the aisle seat across or two in one row and two directly behind?
Thank you for any advice!!
As @TheMiddleSeat mentioned boarding at "A61" through the family boarding is probably sufficient and as good as you'd get with EBCI.
If 9/10 are good to sit by themselves then personally I'd maybe try:
9 and 10 take aisle/window on one side
You and 5 take aisle/window on the other side
No major argument with three kids in a row and you on the opposite aisle as well, that sounds doable for sure.
Check ahead of time - if the flight is lightly occupied then maybe you'll get the empty middles and be able to move around a bit as needed.
If the flight is full or nearly full, then change that to be middle/aisle and aisle/middle across from each other.
My kids are younger so I wouldn't do the front/back rows but maybe that's fine for 8/9 year old kids, maybe they would enjoy having the row ahead and being on their own a little with you and 5 right behind them.
The worst case if there was an (IMO) unreasonable interpretation of the family boarding would be that you want EBCI for the 8/9 year old kids and then you and 5 board in family boarding. I think it's pretty likely for you all to board - the intention of family boarding is to keep families seated together while not allowing excess numbers of adults to board with one kid.

People do have the right to use this board and whether they post something that is informative to you, or not, is irrelevant.
Again, this board is available within the terms of use.

Southwest Airlines ... please, quit apologizing. Please.
I was in San Diego over Christmas, trying to get to back Oklahoma City the day before your system crashed. And crash it did, in grand style, and it should not have. I get, we all get it, and we trust you are getting it fixed and that it should be better than ever, top of the line, and first class, no pun intended. If not, you know, fool me once and all of that, but I trust you are already doing what it takes.
In the mean time ... please quit apologizing. You already have, a few times that I have seen, to a few reporters, to Congress (please, as if those people's hands are clean of anything), and to us.
As I said, I was in San Diego that night, trying to leave the next day, and it was a bad bad evening. But if you fly you have to figure things similar to this are going to happen. My wife and I were up until 2:00 AM that following morning figuring out how we were going to get home, and we figured it out.
Yes, we had to drive from San Diego to Palm Springs, yes we had to spring for a hotel room for one night, yes we had to fly home on American one day late, and yes our little Chihuahua had not spend one extra night in the kennel. BTW, it's a little murky now but we tried American and Delta, tried them from San Diego, Los Angeles, and Phoenix and if memory serves, if they could, it was ~ $2,500 per seat and ten or eleven hour flights. Don't let their sanctimony that night fool anyone.
But we got home, no one died, the dog was good and life has gone on.
Southwest, to their credit, apologized. And before I knew it Southwest deposited 50,000 points in my account just to say they were in fact sorry. And soon thereafter Southwest had a website set up to collect information to reimburse me for my trouble. $2,150 was in my bank WAY sooner than I ever expected to pay for an extra day of a rental car, a hotel room in Palm Springs, two tickets on American to get me home, and wait for it, the extra $17.50 for the extra day my little dog had to spend in lockup!
For my money, you guys are still the best. Get your $@!& together and we'll move on. I like everything about you guys from the gate people to the people inside the cabins.
Quit apologizing, move on, and thanks for making me whole so quickly.
I'm heading back to San Diego in late March, booking the ride right now on Southwest, and can't wait!
In full-disclosure, I'm not a business class kinda of guy. My wife and I rarely pay extra to grab the first fifteen seats in line. We fly in the middle of the pack just like most others. And I'm not a Southwest Corporate shill. Just a guy who loves Southwest and they way they handle their business.
BTW, a personal note to the trolls who may reply to this, I won't reply nor get in a discussion with you. I have said my piece, I respect your right to what you have to say, but we don't need to wear each other out with back and forth 🙂
Very well said! Thanks for posting.

can I also pay with someone card? with their consent of course.
That should be fine, the form will ask for all of the billing information for the card such that you can buy tickets for someone else (the consent works both ways as the purchaser would have to know their birthday and other details).
This would be fine on Southwest's part, if there was any reason the credit card issuer flagged the purchase then it could be rejected on their end, but that wouldn't be automatically the case.

So let me correct that. They aren’t new cases. They are supplemental cases as I’ve called in the agents have issued supplemental case numbers tied to the original case. My apologies.
With reference to others who said my assumption that the cancelled flight during the 12/23- 1/2 disruption period would not renew my tier if it in fact was enough points to do so. This incorrect. I was read aloud by two different agents, the internal email that was sent stating that very fact. (Amy in the Phoenix call center and Charlotte in the Albuquerque call center (as recent as this week)). I had 63,000 points and a Business select flight booked on 12/28/22 worth 8,000+ points. This would have given me more than enough to renew ALP. They say the case is still open and have faith that it will be resolved that the team is just behind. Charlotte actually escalated last Saturday with a demand for a personal call from Customer Svc. I’m still being patient… it’s just hard to believe it’s taking this long. Unfortunately for SWA- I’m holding off booking any flights (revenue) until this is resolved because i want the full credit and don’t want to go through THAT hassle of trying to get the retroactive backfill of points. Not with the way this has gone.
That makes sense. According to what you've described they will end up awarding it.
As long as the case was resolved by the time you flew you'd still get all of the points, the extra ALP bonus would kick in when you fly not when you purchase.
Assuming you have a Rapid Rewards credit card then the purchase cost would award points at the same rate either way.
Personally I'd get the flights booked and then use that in my response that the issue needs to be resolved by the next flight. And look at all of the flights you have booked.
But I've also been previously happy with being A-list, so I can see the frustration for you if you have been ALP all along.

If the companion pass expires 3/4 all free companion travel must be completed on or before 3/4. A companion cannot be added to a flight after 3/4. You can purchase a ticket for the companion to return if you need to travel after 3/4.

I'm currently on a flight utilizing a 737-800 Max which has TV and Fox is an option. The fly in the ointment will be if the equipment you are scheduled to fly on Super Bowl Sunday will the system be working? My experience of late is other than on a Max it is hit or miss whether the entertainment let alone the internet works as they are in the process of upgrading the fleet. YMMV.

You will need to pay the difference with points. To pay cash you would have to cancel the reservation, get a full refund of your points, then pay the full fare in cash.

Especially if your item was very small then it might not be noticed and continue on wherever the plane was headed next if no one saw it in MIA.
Trying to stay positive, all of my documents are in that bag, I wonder how I will get back home, I’ve called lost and found more than 5 times today, and nothing was returned, I am hopeful a honest person will turn in my bag, thus it is very important bag to me with sentimental value.
