@20345532826 I am aware that Southwest's policy is different than TSA's, but unfortunately for you, Southwest does say they require the 2nd case. I suggest when you have completed your travel you write Southwest and let them know that the policy difference caused problems for you. Use the contact us link at the bottom of this page and send a message. This is a customer to customer forum so no one here can change Southwest policy.

Im curious as to how southwest is doing with their mainland to Hawaii flights?? Over the past 2 years many of southwests Hawaii to mainland flights have been axed.
It would be nice to see non stop service from burbank,California to honolulu and Maui on southwest airlines.
BUR is so small. I'm just a fellow passenger but I see it being so valuable for people traveling around California and nearby parts I don't foresee it being a Hawaii gateway due to the limited number of gates when there are other alternatives in the area.

Do companions get to take advantage of the priority/express lane bag check if the ticket purchaser has this benefit?
We always walk up together and has never been an issue. I'm not sure of the terms exactly, but in practice yes its fine - the whole party goes into the A-List line at the ticket counter.
If you mean TSA, then only if the companion or others are minors for the fly-by security lane. Adult companion would be the regular line.

No experience with it my self as the redemption rates are poor. It's all handled by a 3rd party company so you'll need to contact them to get details. Please report back with more info when you do get the order.

Hi, I recently landed in San Diego from Chicago flight 1713 and left my ipad in the back of the seat. I was a few rows from the front on the left (if you're looking towards the back) and seated in the middle. It is a silver iPad in a brown leather case with a sitcker that says Block Island Salt Works. I filled out a missing report but am wondering if there's anything else I can do. I am in town for work and have work documents I need. Any help would be appreciated!!
Any luck with "FindMy" app to see if it's pinging any GPS signal? Of course if you had it in airplane mode and/or if the battery was low then this has a low chance of working.

It was a BIG mistake perpetrated by the inability and inexperience of the previous CEO. They were doing a successful business at EWR. I live in New York City area and as a Customer I prefer to take my flight through EWR. It is extremely convenient. With the return of Southwest to EWR, CEO Bob Jordan will show his ability and qualifications to be in that position. Come back to business Southwest. Come back to EWR!!!

@mlathus ok, now that you have finally provided a tiny bit of information I will say it was seen where someone who was enroute and had a connection canceled was initially not eligible for a refund as it was seen that the person started the trip and was not eligible for a refund. After taking a second look at the trip Southwest did issue a refund. The key is to specifically say that's what happened. You may think I'm trolling, but I was just trying to get details and the details are SUPER important. If you are just screaming "give me a refund" you're not going to get anywhere. Send a new message stating very clearly the trip was started and was unable to be completed when the connection was canceled. Include the confirmation number, passenger names, dates, flight numbers, specifying which flight number was completed and which was canceled, and information about how the passenger returned home from the connection point. ALL the details! Then say that since the trip was unable to be completed you would like a full refund back to the original form of payment.

I found it - it does say primary cardholder's account. Someone had mentioned doing this before with a spouse's account but that's either been changed, or was incorrect.
SOUTHWEST® RAPID REWARDS® PROGRAM INFORMATION The Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card is brought to you by Southwest Airlines® and Chase. Southwest Airlines is responsible for the redemption of Rapid Rewards points toward benefits and services. The number of points needed for a particular Southwest flight is set by Southwest and will vary depending on destination, time, day of travel, demand, fare type, point redemption rate, and other factors, and are subject to change at any time until the booking is confirmed. Rapid Rewards points can only be transferred to the primary Cardmember's Rapid Rewards account. All Rapid Rewards rules and regulations apply and can be found at Opens OverlaySouthwest.com/rrterms.

Oh my is it beautiful! Saw it first hand yesterday when we opened the Variety KC inclusive play area, sensory room, adaptive restrooms, and flight simulator room. Proud of KC for making the airport more inclusive for all! Now to get all airports to do these kinds of things. 🙂
As one that is local to KC and only is in the airport to get from one airport to another (no layovers, etc.), I'll certainly miss the convenience of the old airport. This new one will be fabulous for those with layovers. Lots of great local places to eat and lots of new shopping areas that I've not seen at other airports.
I'll seek out a layover there now!

After 3 emails/cases opened and a plethora of phone calls to Customer Service for my senior citizen Aunt, no success in getting the 25K points...until I read this thread. Had her create a Twitter account (she already had FB) and we sent a couple of DMs via both. 1 1/2 days later she finally received a response via Twitter and this is what the rep said: "...It appears there was a glitch with your points code and I will have to manually add the points to your account....".
We initially redeemed her code for the points on Jan 26. I'm so glad this is over.

So I originally had two people on one reservation and just broke out the two into individual reservations. With that, I didn't make any changes to the flights itself.
So you had two people on one reservation. Cancelled the second person on the reservation, but kept the existing reservation number and the reservation intact for you. ?
Were there any changes after that? Why would you split them separately and then not make any further changes? Usually that would be a precursor for one of the two confirmations to be changed in some way that wasn't going to apply to both people.
This seems to be an issue for the fine print, obviously the intention was there but I foresee difficulty even with what seems to be a minor change.
I also don't know if there is any way for them to drop a companion pass on you for a different period than what the promotion was setup for. As far as I know there isn't an "add companion pass for a limited duration" button in the system. It would definitely need to be escalated, if this is possible it won't be every rep that can do it.
Good luck, I hope it comes through in some way, but I feel like one of the favorable outcomes will be that you get it for the original time period which may not be very useful.

You could also book Wanna Get Away Plus fares which allow for the credit to be transferred so if the friend cannot travel the credit can be transferred to you for later use.

I believe that you need to go to the retiree website (where you logged on as an employee) to both get your answer and obtain a ticket.
I suspect that you get retiree tickets the same way you would have gotten employee tickets.

Yep, as @dfwskier said, use the existing travel credit to purchase a Wanna Get Away Plus fare on any flight for around the same cost as the value of the credit you have now. Then cancel that reservation and transfer the credit to someone who can use it. All individuals involved need to have Rapid Rewards accounts so create those first if they do no already have one.

Cities could be added as weather changes, but at the moment it appears Southwest does not expect significant impact to the cities you mentioned. With no change fees ever, Southwest makes rescheduling easy even without a storm advisory so you can make changes if you are concerned about traveling.

There is no "family pre-boarding", only "family boarding". Family boarding occurs between group A and B. For you to have family boarding, you must have an individual under the age of seven. Then, that individual can be accompanied by up to two adults.
The first people on the plane are pre-board who self-declare a disability that requires a specific seating arrangement.

That is an interesting question. I believe that you will benefit from the fact that Southwest is not going to ask you about your usage of the wheelchair and thus will check it for free, without impacting your standard baggage allowance, as they would any other wheelchair from someone who utilizes one. Now, if you volunteered the fact that it wasn't yours and not a medical need for yourself that might change the story. How you handle the situation is up to you.
Same thing for baby gear. A baby somewhere needs this stroller/car seat/etc. - in my case I was bringing the kids back with me.
But anyway, you get two checked pieces and if you were only checking one otherwise, then it's your second piece.

When was the last non-stop SWA you used? Pre-Covid? Many routes now have connections, and ALL my routes do. But never fear, I will never buy another WiFi connection on SWA, nor will many others.
one thing I would like to see change with the price going up allow people to switch Wi-Fi to a different device in case one of you devices dies during the flight.
This would be nice, I did see it on my one trip on the other guys.
The other guys also had two price tiers where you could buy a couple of hours or else pay much more for duration of your trip (it might have even been for 8 hours and not the full trip duration) which compared to $8/day I was like "ugh" but if the price is going up this might be a good way to break it into bite size wifi.

I’ve always strangely found the WiFi spottier on the 800s than the 700s—whether that’s just anecdotal or has something behind it, no idea.
i feel pretty respected/understood as a frequent business traveler by SWA (although I am not a BIG IMPORTANT GUY—I only fly about four to ten hours a week and make significantly less than $300 an hour); it’s why the status exists and why the family boarding got pushed back years ago.
I’d like to know who has the really good, consistent, strong WiFi. In my experience, they most all aren’t impressive, domestic nor international.
i’ve occasionally been annoyed by the WiFi but I’ve been able to get emails out no issue, usually tap into my organization’s system, and occasionally attend a Zoom (sorry, I know that’s a no-no). When I am working up there, at worst I do it offline and connect-send/save at the end. I most usually take the time to rest though—maybe like the WiFi, you could (should) work less?
