If you are referring to a car seat bag, yes, you can check one booster or car seat per child traveling so you can put both in a bag. That bag does not count against your checked baggage allowance.

Glad to hear your are not a BOT OR a Southwest Employee. And you are correct about what happens when one ASSUMEs. Please accept my apology. It was interesting that one of the comments on this string also ran into the same problem. Once our holiday is finished I WILL contact Southwest directly and find out how they prioritize bumping in this situation. I was very surprised the algorithm Southwest uses didn't kick out the last people to check in...and instead bumped Companion Pass people. I can only guess that the system was trying to prioritize higher paying passengers and because a Companion Pass has a different confirmation number the system didn't realize that two people were traveling together. Have a happy holiday.

UPDATE ON MY LUGGAGE.
I arrived at the airport today 12/26 at 3am to ask about my luggage and turns out, it arrived in San Diego. As for us, another cancelled flight and nothing leaving Denver today. Family is on the road from Cali to pick us up. 🥺

Our flight was cancelled yesterday - BNA to LGA. They booked us on a flight for tonight. It is not looking good---seems SW is having a problem with nonstop flts to LGA---showing cancelled and/or delayed for most flights so far today. Question--yesterday we were at the airport waiting and received a Lov Voucher for @300.
If today's flight is cancelled, do we get another voucher?
There is no way to know. Different employees may handle it in different ways
Do we have "be present" to get it??? Thanks for all info!
I'd say normally , yes., but Lot's of people complain directly to SW and get vouchers though., To do so click on "contact us" below and proceed.
Other times the airlines just sends them to passengers when things are obviously abysmal

Without the claim tag from check-in I'm not sure how you'll find it if Southwest doesn't have record of it.

me too, 6 hours yesterday before i had to hang up. today i called at 3 am and still on hold 8 hours now. All because they rebooked a cancelled flight for us that we need to cancel and can't do it online for some reason, it says we have to call. we booked a new flight costing us $300 more because of this. but its within the same 24 hours and my fear is the automated system will cancel the one we need because they are to close together. i have tried contacting in other ways, still waiting.

Let me clarify, if Southwest canceled your flight you can request and will get a refund. There is no fraud occurring.

You’re unbelievable. I have a companion, so I can’t get the online booking to work. Worse, their next flight that is available basically makes my entire trip pointless. This isn’t a 1 day delay, the app says they don’t have a flight till Thursday night with an open seat and that isn’t even assured. I haven’t had a vacation in a year and not only have they ruined the scheduled vacation I planned for 3 months (can’t cancel it), I lose the days, and worse, they ruined my Christmas, because by the time I get there, the other half of the family will have gone home.
I was on hold for 3 hours and 14 minutes when I heard what sounded like the VOIP server crashing and the call drop.

This is all around incompetence and the CEO should be fired Monday morning.
I was a huge fan of SWA. No more, I will never recommend them again, I will never be loyal to them again.

Thanks M.S. I see where it can be cancelled before flight. Since it's after the scheduled flight time it shows that it's been modified and have to go through the "change channels"
I booked a flight for us on Wednesday and see where I can cancel it there; but I think it's the best soonest for 2. I'll call and see what they can do on their end "behind the scenes" to get me out on Tuesday. Denver has been a real mess to say the least and the rumors are flying on why there are issues here.

Actually, a computer automatically rebooks people on to the next available flights with available seats. It happens without the intervention of a person. Using confirmation numbers passengers can see their new flights via the app or via southwest.com. RR members will be able to see the new flights upon logging in to the website..
Also don;t assume that if the new flight is less than 24 hours out, that you will automatically be assigned a boarding position concurrent with the rebook. That does not always happen

Involuntary bump can happen to anyone, it does not limit to companions. I've enjoyed many free flights from my companion pass and no other airline provides such a beneficial perk. It appears you obtained the companion pass via a promotional offer on credit card sign up. The standard expiration is the remainder of the year you earned it in AND the entire next calendar year. That's a pretty sweet deal. You're welcome to do what you want, I just don't agree with the thinking.

When I fly to a ski destination, I always carry my boots and helmet with me, and stuff pants in the boot bag or backpack. Wearing my ski jacket, obviously.
An airline can lose everything else, but I have enough to ski.

I was speculating on one possible reason the situation could have occurred. There are others.
Anyway they were likely booked on a 737 - Max8 which seats 175 people. It is possible the airline planned on sending the plane out weight restricted and never sold all of the available seats., and then discovered a need to remove even more weight thus affecting your parents.
So your parents would have been in boarding position. 144 (60A+60B+24c). It seems extreme to me that they plane would go out weight restricted with 30 plus open seats, but I am not familiar enough with Southwest's Hawaii operations to know if that is likely..
Sorry I can't be more helpful

Can you tell us how to submit a claim for incidentals? Also by the way if your baggage problem is at the Denver airport please know they are not taking phone calls. You are required to stand in a long line and talk to a staff member at a desk. There is one person at the desk. The wait in line is six hours. And they don’t know what happened to your luggage or when you will get it. They will simply let you file a claim.

All Southwest flights depart from the same terminal. You won't have to go far, perhaps a short walk to the next concourse.
