I had a visit with my friend again, a Captain. How does he determine if a passenger is drunk or not,...he is not trained to identify a drunk person? Per my friend the Captain, he goes by watching the person or makes a quick determination,..or he is notified by security. He just denied another "drunk" a couple of days ago. After 26 years or so as a commercial pilot, he hasn't been "called on the carpet" yet by his bosses. A couple of other friends of mine who are SW pilots, (I use to fly with them in the Air Force),. they have done the same thing,...no repercussions. I also know a couple of FAs and, according to them, FAs hate to deal with drunk passengers,...and there are plenty.

If you rebook it would be at the current price so if you are within the 24 hour rule and the price has gone up you would rebook at the higher price keep that in mind

If I wasn’t ALP I think I’d pay the extra $20ish to get A1-15 during peak travel season if going with a group buy 1 upgrade boarding then save seats further back in the plane (row 10 vs row 1 isn’t that different) less people might ask for your seats and one of the first on the plane (after preboarders) is better than you could still be last

We obviously don't know what happened here but one observation is that only one group of these people have the means to see inside of a suitcase without actually opening every bag and looking for little sacks of money.
Many parts of a bag's journey through the airport are out in the open and so it would be much less likely for someone to randomly look for something valuable in there while also getting their job done.
Check-in - that bag is tagged and on the conveyor in seconds, I think we can rule them out unless you specifically mentioned having a bunch of money in the luggage.
But your point is well-taken - don't check valuables which could be lost or stolen.

Doors close 10min before the flight time so even with arriving at 7:55 you would be within that 10min window. could they have delayed the flight sure but if they hold for you but not someone else it creates issues also they see it as 2 people vs 100+ for inconvenience it’s easier to deal with 2 people.
Also maybe the crew was close to timing out so if they wait for delayed passengers that could cause an entire plane to be cancelled because they waited on 2 people. There are a lot of factors that go in to waiting or going but 2 people isn’t a lot to them I get it being stuck is no fun
maybe write an email to southwest and they can give a voucher as a goodwill gesture even though it was a weather delay that caused this.

I also have not received the Hyperwallet email. I received the customer ID from Southwest on 1/27/23. I've followed up multiple times by phone, Twitter, and now attempting this. My case was approved but Southwest gave Hyperwallet a bad email address for me. I don't understand how Southwest can send the Cusotmer ID to the correct email address but then give Hyperwallet a bad email address. I've called Hyperwallet and they will not fix until they hear from Southwest. I was on a 3-way call with Southwest and Hyperwallet and they will not fix until they got something in writing from Southwest to correct the email address. It is so frustrating!!! The incident happened on 12/28 and I still have not been reimbursed.

You can always call SW and ask them to tell you when you used the voucher and how much was used each time. They did this for me once when I forgot when a voucher was used. Not all agents will know how to do this so it may take a couple calls until you get an agent who knows how to see luv voucher history

You could open another email ticket and reference the other case numbers or try Twitter or Facebook and hopefully they will respond.

We’re they closing the door to push back from the gate when you went to the bathroom I know to some FAs it is annoying that this causes a delay while folks go to the bathroom because they can’t close the door if folks are moving around the cabin. now if they were still boarding I don’t see a reason why it would be an issue to use the bathroom but sometimes folks have bad days
