my closing date is the 23rd-26th and points post a day or two after that. This gives most of the month of December to add to the current year CP points. I wouldn't want it to cut off much earlier than that, but that is what works for me.

the bonus rewards from the one that ended in June (I believe) took the full 8 weeks. The one that ended September says to allow 8 weeks also. I expect the last day of November for them to be issued.

I would have sat in the seat. I'm ok with the saving of one or two seats, but not the whole row.

We flew out of MCO to MCI on Saturday. Saw the same things happening. I like the enforcement. and the gate agents were very clear in their messages about 20 minutes before it was time to line up - if you have more than two bags, you will lose your boarding position until you can get it down to 2 bags...
Even heard it once we landed at MCI as another flight was getting ready to board.

I haven't had to book any flights today, but would welcome this and would give me more reason to easily convince my husband of the early morning flights I like to be on and he doesn't. LOL

I get a reminder email the morning of the day I need to check in for my flight. subject is "get ready for your trip" or "what you will need for your trip". Wondering if they are going to a junk folder for you?

sorry this happened to you. We had a similar instance where our luggage was out on the tarmac and lightening struck. They shut everything down and yes, our luggage was soaked. We knew the minute it came off the baggage conveyor belt.
You might check each rapid rewards number as we all 4 received a voucher for the wet clothing on that trip.

I didn't miss your point. You think because you CHOOSE (your words) to spend $50 extra dollars that you should have special treatment. This preboarding abuse has been going on forever. My advice, stop spending the additional $50.
When I'm traveling without my husband (who has cerebral palsy and does get to preboard), I stand back and watch the entertainment of the miracles taking place. Does it frustrate me, a little because they are potentially taking this opportunity away from someone who desperately needs it. Do I let it upset me enough to write a post like yours, heck no (especially when it's been written about before). Ultimately they are the ones who have to live with their decisions of doing something unethical, not me. Until they do a heart check and they realize it is the wrong thing to do and not right to abuse a system that wasn't put in place for them, they won't change. It's a people issue, not a SW issue.

This has been addressed many times. You really are complaining because 20 people board before you? At most, they will take up the first 3.333333 rows if they took every seat at the front of the plane.
Have some compassion. They are slow to board and could also have connecting flights to make and you are going to make them late getting to their next flight by putting them at the back of the plane?
I get that some abuse the system, but come on, you still have a seat on the plane. Pick an available seat, sit back and enjoy the flight to your destination.

8 weeks from the end of the promotion is today... Hopefully waiting on my points as it should put me over the Companion Pass points requirement, or very close to it. Maybe we will all wake up tomorrow with our points posted to our account. 🙂

Even after 18 preboarders that MIGHT take the 1st 3 rows, you still get a decent seat. And, out of 175+ seats on a plane, technically, you are still one of the first to board, in my mind.
Yes, someone will argue about being one of the "First". Guess the definition of "First" needs to be explained more, because if you are A15, you technically aren't first either.
Again, you have a seat on the plane, pick an open seat, sit back and enjoy your flight. You too, along with the preboarders, will get to your destination.

"When you allow anyone with a cane or a wheelchair (with B & C list boarding passes) to jump in front people who have purchased an upgraded (A-list) place in line to board, and we end up six rows back or worse, our purchase has become money thrown away. For those in a wheelchair, make them purchase business select or A-list like everyone else, or don’t sell it to me and just give it away. If you are going to give the first 15 rows to disabled folks, then just do it."
@WBruceW you've crossed a line. You are going to penalize those that are truly disabled just so you can get a what you deem as a better seat on the plane? I understand some abuse the situation. But, have you ever thought for a moment that someone who is disabled might just check in day of flight to obtain a C boarding number so you able bodied people can get a higher boarding number? My husband does this and he would give his right arm to not be disabled. Have some compassion. You do have a seat on the plane. Last time I flew, I was in the back and still got off within about 15 minutes.

"An easy fix to preforming abuse would be, for the same reason preborders need to get on first, flag their seats and, for their safety, have them disembark last. "
Preboarders need extra time to board, most often. So, also means they need time to disembark and you want them to be last off? What if they have a connection flight to make? Slow to board also means slow to maneuver the airport. have some compassion.
I know that some abuse the preboard rules, but not all. And not all disabilities can be seen. You all get a seat on the plane and all get to your destination. Not in your favorite/preferred seat? My husband, who has cerebral palsy and looks normal while standing, would gladly give up his seat to anyone who asked in exchange for not being disabled. My husband is usually one of the last to preboard because he is considerate of others, but it is difficult for him to stand too long. He makes sacrifices also. It's time all the complainers be thankful you have a plane to get on, or can afford to fly it. You could have to drive to your destination, oh wait, you can't drive to Hawaii for all of those trips you are able to afford.

I've worked hard to earn the companion pass every year for the ability to fly free. The amount of points from online shopping, dining through the SW Dining program, and usage of my CC for every bill I can possibly run through it, gets me free flights for both myself and husband without spending $499 or $999 each. I'll stay with SW, thank you. It has no flight blackout dates.
How often are you flying?

@Plaird So you are saying you boarded in the 24th spot, and this is a problem? You still could be at the front of the plane. Is it because you feel entitled because you purchased A4 and feel important? Everyone on that plane is entitled to a seat.
While I agree, some people take advantage of the system, you still had a seat on the plane. Be thankful you had the opportunity to fly. Some people don't have that luxury.
Time to stop the complaining and be thankful.

Oh my is it beautiful! Saw it first hand yesterday when we opened the Variety KC inclusive play area, sensory room, adaptive restrooms, and flight simulator room. Proud of KC for making the airport more inclusive for all! Now to get all airports to do these kinds of things. 🙂
As one that is local to KC and only is in the airport to get from one airport to another (no layovers, etc.), I'll certainly miss the convenience of the old airport. This new one will be fabulous for those with layovers. Lots of great local places to eat and lots of new shopping areas that I've not seen at other airports.

my whole point is that you can't always judge a book by the cover. You would think my husband was one of those faking the need to preboard as he pulls up in a wheelchair and then walks with a cane on and off the plane.
I get the people who fake it, or abuse the system, but that happens EVERYWHERE. But in the end, we all have a seat on the plane. ie: if 24 preboarders all sat in the front rows, is the 5th row still not good enough?

"Pre-board Pre=board ... you board before me .
Ill stand unlike a leach while you do it ...and keep my dignity. "
Keep your dignity? My husband would gladly give you the Cerebral Palsy he was born with that allows him to preboard. Fly a different airline if you want special treatment of first class. Yes, we use a wheelchair to move through the airport and he can walk a short distance. Unfortunately, it is people like you who don't pay attention to where they are walking and cause him to fall, so we rely on the wheelchair. He does walk off and on the plane though but needs extra time to do so because of his handicap.
Just got off of a SW flight and the seats will not recline in anyone's lap. Do they go back a little, yes, but only like an inch.
Solution for you - fly another airline or be thankful you have a seat on the plane and still made it to your destination.

I'm tired of all of this complaining. You mean to tell me that even if all 23 of the preboarders took the 1st 4 rows of seats, that it is a problem if you are sitting in the 5th row? Good grief, find something else to complain about. You had a seat on the plane.

I've been 5 lbs over in one bag before and just had to move a few items to the other bag. It is a 50lb weight limit for each bag, not total of all the bags you are checking. It isn't a profit source for the airline, it is a safety issue for the baggage handlers.
I'm sorry you encountered rude staff.
