You're welcome. There are also some great cockpit videos on YouTube, a really good one I just watched is of an Aer Lingus on approach to San Francisco. It provides a good sense of the flight deck activity (checklists, radio communications, and coordination) with great scenery. If there was a good Southwest video like this then I would have referenced that one instead!

I'm not really sure why gender specification is relevant to an airline, but, here we are. Have other companies adopted a non-binary option? Most profiles that I fill out on web sites still say male/female only in my experience. --Jessica

@gbfinancial wrote: No where on the itineray I was given when I booked a flight did it say that my direct flight from Indianapolis to Dallas was going through Chicago. When a flight says non-stop.... I think @bec102896 nailed it referring to direct vs non-stop. The only other clarification may be that sometimes the schedule does change after booking and if that's the case you have one opportunity to call and reschedule to a non-stop flight if any suit your schedule. Southwest will have tried to match your timing as best they could including direct or connecting flights. It sounds like the issue may be direct vs non-stop though - check your booking confirmation and see if it is the same flight number as shown today.

@SWDigits wrote: No idea if it will work, but maybe see if Chase will change your statement date again for say Dec 15? Credit card companies are willing to change statement dates, but typically NOT FOR THE NEXT STATEMENT. They'll typicaly start at the statement after the one that is about to happen. Hence, a rule of thumb for anyone relying on Chase points would be to, at the start of a year, ask for a statement date of say the 25th.

Great idea to have your son bring his own carry on, we've always had our kids bring one and we still let them pick out their own snacks and special treats -- they're not so little any more! Also for awareness the TSA has a dedicated site titled, "What Can I Bring?", here is the link: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/all

@juandey1988 it's going to depend on your desitination, there is currently a "baggage embargo" for San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) flights (and three additional airports), the Southwest page indicates that cardboard boxes are NOT allowed. The source of the following text is at the bottom of this page: https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/baggage/checked-bags-pol.html#baggage Temporary Restriction on Excess/Oversized Baggage A baggage embargo is being enacted for the below locations from November 15, 2019 through January 6, 2020. The conditions are as follows: ALLOWED BZE MBJ NAS SJO Checked Items 2 2 2 2 Over 62" No No No No Over 50 lbs. Once you've met the sign-up bonus requirments, whatever they are, the sign-up bonus should be shown on your Chase account as "+ New Cardmember Bonus x0,000 points" (look for the "See details" link under Rewards the "See rewards history"). I'm a Southwest customer active in the discussion forums and I don't recall seeing anyone mention cover letters. The advice I've seen is to sign up for job alerts so that you'll be ready when a flight attendant (or other job) posting goes live. See this thread for additional detail: https://www.southwestaircommunity.com/t5/Southwest-Careers/When-do-flight-attendant-applications-typically-open-up/m-p/95232/highlight/true#M5847

I've never heard Southwest paying out any reimbursement at the airport, it's always a matter of saving receipts for essential items that must be purchased immediately such as a toothbrush and perhaps a change of clothes, then submitting a claim for reimbursement of those expenses. Southwest's contract of carriage does limit their liability to $3500 unless you declare and purchase coverage for extra value. I do not see any indication of reimbursement for purchasing essentials counting against the $3500 limit, but again, that reimbursement is for essential purchases, not an additional $1500 worth of stuff that you would like to replace. --TheMiddleSeat
