You forgot to mention free liquor on every flight to anyone over 21, and free donuts and coffee in the morning at Love Field (and maybe elsewhere?) Getting rid of those things might cause passengers to rush back to Braniff.

Ironcally, I was on the 7 pm Midway/Love field flight last night. We delayed so that a connecting passenger could board -- and then waited a bit longer for that passenger's luggage to make it to our plane. Of course, no one connects in Dallas at 9:15 pm so our delay wasn't going to cost anyone a connection, although our plane was to turn around and fly back to Chicago. So it also was delayed. No one connets in Chicago after midnight either. So the delays affected no connections, which is why Southwest allowed the delays. The delays only affected the airliine's on time stats. We were 20 minutes late. No big deal.

This would seem pretty unfortunate. I've never run into this situation. I can't imagine all opassengers for the flight would fit on one bus. Thus it would seem to make sense to me to take all a-listers out on one bus, then b-group on another bus, and then c-group on another bus, with a final bus for any late arrivers. Another rule of thumb probably should be to sit as close as possible to the bus door, so first on the bus could be first off the bus.

I'm sure you'll catch it next time, it was different positioning with the website re-design.

Great question and I would think the answer is yes. The fastest way might be to call customer service who can code it on all your flights even if booked over the internet. 1-800-IFLYSWA. have a great trip!

Unless you are flying internationally there's no need to change the ticket as you have a driver's license that matches your ticket. If flying international you'll need the ticket to match your passport. If that's the case, you'll need to either call Southwest or contact them via Twitter (@SouthwestAir). Simply explain that you booked the flight with your maiden name and need to change it to your married name so it matches your new passport. Usually they will require you to send in proof of the change, a marriage license should suffice. Ask how to fax or email it in so the change can be made quickly. --TheMiddleSeat Did this or any other comment in the thread answer your question? Without the original box I would be tempted to carry-on the main unit packed inside a carry-on suitcase, just to avoid any possibility of it getting tossed around. I don't know how you would pack it well enough in a checked bag to keep it from smashing all around and possibly destroying the suitcase or itself. You could put the bowl and any attachments in the checked bag as the bowl is a bit wider than the stand and then pack the stand well enough to survive you gently carrying it on. The only issue would be the weight and having to lift it to and from the overhead compartment. I don't think TSA would have an issue with it going as carry-on, but give yourself a little extra time just in case if you decide to go this route. --TheMiddleSeat

SW Could mitigate the frustration if they would assign boarding positions next to each other for people that have tickets on the same account. I have a companion and I always get a low A position and she gets a high B position. I don't see the big deal it causes by letting us board together.

I've used a High Sierra rolling duffle bag the last few years, and have been happy. No signs of early onset wear that I can detects and it's probably been on a hundred flights at this point. The potential downside is that it is a bit less wide than a standard roller suitcase. Also it's pretty cheap to buy. My view is that how the wheels are attached is important. I'd stay away from spinners as the wheels stick out from the sutcase, and reduce the allowable volume of the bag (carry on rules measure size of the bag. If the wheels stick out that counts in the measure). I strongly prefer suitcases where there are only two wheels that are incorporated into the body of the bag.

@elijahbrantley wrote: And if you aren’t able to track down any email confirmations, call SW, and they will be able to help you find it. Be aware that, unlike in the past when reps could search using the credit card number you used to book, it's now more difficult to get a lost confirmation number via a phone rep. EDITED TO ADD: I just noticed the new wording now being used in email confirmations (below, replaces what I posted above). Apparently Southwest really does not want to look up a lost confirmation number for you. This makes it very clear that it's 100% on the customer to keep track of all their confirmation numbers (and any funds associated with them).

As you mentioned, the schedule was just extended with flights available to purchase through March 9, 2019 so it is very unlikely that additional flights scheduled before then will be added. And there's no way to know if changes will be announced in the next extension set to take place August 16 with flights through April 5, 2019. --TheMiddleSeat Did this or any other comment in the thread answer your question? Just a note that Southwest will cancel reservations it feels are "duplicates," and refund to the original payment method. Did you happen to have mutliple flights booked for the same day? Or overlapping itineraries? Their system may have interpreted it as a duplicate booking. If that's the case, the rep should be able to rebook at your original fare. Please do come back and let us know what you learn, and how it works out.

Typically RR points are credited to your account within 24 hours of trip completion, but Southwest says allow 72 hours. Is your entire trip complete or do you have additional flights on the same reservation still to come? If you have more flights on the reservation you'll need to wait until they are completed. If trip is complete you can request points be credited to your RR account: You can request past flight points for up to 12 months after your flight. To claim points for a past flight, simply log into your account, select My Account and choose the Manage tab within My Rapid Rewards. Choose Request past points in the grey bar and enter your record locator (confirmation number) from your reservation. After verification of your flight information (up to 5 days), points will be deposited into your account. --TheMiddleSeat

@latoyah2323 wrote: Why would SW consider a 12 year an adult??? Every 12 year old doesn’t mature as fast as some may. You should really change your policy when it comes to UMs Southwest does not consider a 12-year-old to be an adult. They simply do not allow children 12 or over to travel as an unaccompanied minor ("UM"). The ultimate responsibility for a child lies with the child's parent or guardian. If a parent/guardian does not feel safe allowing their child to travel by themself, then they should travel with the child. For what it's worth, I made frequent trips on Southwest by myself when I was 12 and lived to tell about it.

I'm sure the announcement will be all over social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and this community. If you sign up for promotion/sale emails from Southwest on southwest.com you'll probably get a few emails about it when you it's announced. I've not seen Southwest utilize text messaging for anything other than some flight delay notifications. --TheMiddleSeat Did this or any other comment in the thread answer your question? My flight is in 3 days and I may not have time to get their certificates- (they were born in a different part of the state... so I'm kinda panicking. I have a newborn that will be a lap infant- flying free- and I DID get her a certified birth certificate to prove she is over 14 days and less than 2 yo. ... This version is correct - you do need the birth certificate for the infant, but not the twins. If it would make you more comfortable a recent immunization record from the pediatrician's office would also show birth dates and names for the twins as a helpful document (that you shouldn't actually need). We actually got our daughter (2 years old) a passport now to have as a durable identification, besides if an opportunity for international travel comes up on short notice. We flew a lot with her as an infant as well, so we did have a copy of the birth certificate in a protective sheath that was in the diaper bag full-time. Don't laminate it permanently though, the rules actually say that the paper documents should be able to be inspected.

No, unlike travel funds, points refunded from a cancelled or changed reservation don't expire based on time from when you made the reservation. However, all of your points in your account will expire if you don't have any earning activity in a 2 year period. Everytime you have earning activity that 2 year period starts over. --TheMiddleSeat Did this or any other comment in the thread answer your question? I don't believe they sell gift cards at the ticket counter you might be able to call southwest at hobby airport and ask though but I would recommend checking out the places @TheMiddleSeat suggested and you could also check out Amazon or eBay as I know I have seen them there but personally I would buy the gift card from southwest directly just in case you get a bad card on eBay (it's happened to me before with a iTunes gift card) Blake

In addition to the dimensions you'll need to make sure it's not going to open up or get snagged or get hung up on anything. Is it something you could put in a box? I'd also be worried about it being damaged by other bags and objects (rip, tear, smash, etc). If you do check it, you'll be asked to sign a waiver saying that Southwest is not responsible for any damage. --TheMiddleSeat

@SoCo4Now wrote: Curious if Southwest ever adds Wanna Get Away seats to their flights. Tyring to book a flight 5 months in advance and all these seats are sold out. Is it worth waiting, or is the number of seat fixed and I'd be wasting my time. Thanks! I'll add to what @dfwskier @TheMiddleSeat @chgoflyer have said - if you are an infrequent Southwest flyer, buy the Anytime fare if your date/time is set and then refund it if you see a WGA pop up. As the others all said, these may come and go to some degree but I wouldn't recommend waiting for one, particularly if this was a holiday travel or going to Orlando during special events at WDW. If you are a frequent Southwest flyer, I'd recommend spending the extra few bucks for Business Select over Anytime - you get the 12x points, beverage, and priority boarding. Especially if you may be close to A-list or A-list preferred at the end of the year based on points accumulation, don't buy the Anytime.

When completing a purchase on Southwest.com you can opt in for text messages, but those are very unreliable and often only get sent for major delays. I highly recommend an app such as FlightView. It allows you to enter your flights and will notify you of any changes to the schedule or gate. It's also handy for tracking incoming flights if you are picking someone up or want to know when your plane will arrive at your point of departure. --TheMiddleSeat Did this or any other comment in the thread answer your question? The "issue" appears to be related to security certificates and encryption, or in this case, the lack of. As you're not submitting any sensitive information (credit card, social security number, etc) there's not much security risk in submitting this unsecured. The web browser's default setting is probably to pop that message up any time information is being submitted via a form without encryption. --TheMiddleSeat Did this or any other comment in the thread answer your question? I've consolidated as @bgubs14 suggested after booking several/many flights at the same time then rebooking them all later on after a price drop. I'm sometimes left with 10 or so travel funds for $5-$10. As the flights were all originally purchased on the or near the same date, any change to the expiration date is minimal and it's much easier to use the single consolidated travel fund than 10 $5 funds. I agree, it's a good "hack", just be careful of the expiration date change as was mentioned earlier. Now if only I could consolidate drink coupons and get a bigger prize, that would be a great hack. --TheMiddleSeat
