While there was a lot of buzz when Southwest added their flights to Google Flights, it looks like they just quietly added their flights to Kayak as well. I did some searches and Southwest fares are now showing on Kayak.
Thanks for the tip!
Upon doing a demo search for a weekday SAN-LAS trip for October, SW posts $59 flights. I noticed a couple of the other guys appear to price-match this with their lowest product tier but the competition excludes no-fee ticket changes (Difference-in-fare applies to SW ticket changes) and two checked bags, two of SW's staples:
It appears Kayak does a good job of properly disclosing this with the icons below the "View Deal" button. Their basic fare products also don't allow for seat selection (they are simply assigned).

Both UA and AA tell me how many life time miles I have on them. Havenl't checked my DL account since I've not flown DL since it pulled it;s Dallas hub decades ago. I do check my Skymiles account every once in a while. Knowing a SW lifetime number would be nice. - but even that would since RR came about. I had lots of flights before then.
Then there all those "deceased" airlines that I;ve flown; Braniff, Eastern Ozark, Western Pacific, Midway, ATA , Canadian - I'm sure there are a few that I've forgotten.
Plus a few on Spirit and Frontier and Lufthansa.

I agree. I do it fairly frequently and there has never been a large que of AL or ALP to board at A61.It wihkd not make much of a dfference.

most likely in the same manner as all other airlines. You can blame the 'miracle flight' abusers (need wheelchair to get on first to get a good seat), then magically healed in air and no longer in need of a wheelchair to deplane.

hi! im flying w southwest in few weeks for college, just one thing, i want to bring my dispo w thc oil, but i dont know if its safe to do so? i dont want to risk anything thru the tsa especially since this is my first time flying alone. (fyi, im under 21, so dont ask how i got it lol but very common with people under the age as you can see) so will sw or tsa care?
Hello! Here's the official TSA rule which cites current federal law:
Marijuana and certain cannabis infused products, including some Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, remain illegal under federal law except for products that contain no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis or that are approved by FDA. TSA officers are required to report any suspected violations of law to local, state or federal authorities.
TSA’s screening procedures are focused on security and are designed to detect potential threats to aviation and passengers. Accordingly, TSA security officers do not search for marijuana or other illegal drugs, but if any illegal substance is discovered during security screening, TSA will refer the matter to a law enforcement officer.
https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/medical-marijuana
As the other posters have mentioned, TSA will not actively look for illegal drugs as focus is on looking for potential threats to flight and passenger safety such as illegal weapons. However, by rule if TSA finds illegal substance during screening, they will refer the matter to law enforcement which could include the federal level. That could very well happen if your carry-on gets pulled for either a random or flagged secondary screening.
I will never advise nor recommend to anybody to break the law even if enforcement appears lax or if "everybody's doing it". Thus if the oil exceeds 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis and is not FDA approved, I will not advise that you travel with it.

I get how frustrating hotel cancellation scams can be. It's like a punch in the gut when you think you have everything sorted, only to find out you've been tricked. I had a similar experience when I booked a great deal online, but when I needed to cancel, I was hit with all these hidden fees, and the customer service could have been better. I felt so lost. The whole situation puts a damper on your travel plans. The best way to avoid these scams is to first stick with reputable platforms and research. ManagedBnbs is an excellent option; they have solid reviews and a good reputation. Just be careful out there, and trust your gut.

Good morning, @Mmhmm212!
Thank you so much for reaching out and for your interest in Southwest as a prospective employer! I took a closer look at your application for the role in on our Internal Audit Team, and I'm so sorry for the lack of updates. It does appear that our Recruiting Team is still working to finalize who will be moving forward, and I'm hopeful they'll have that determined this week. Once there's more information to share, our Team will reach out to you ASAP.
Thank you so much for your continued patience.
Thanks, @Passenger1C, for the tag! Always appreciate you!

A huge percentage of Alaskans live in the Anchorage area, so the small amount of traffic coming from small towns can be left to Alaska. Alaska's main hub is Seattle anyway. Lots of cruises also end near Anchorage. Anchorage to Denver, Las Vegas, Dallas, Houston, Chicago and Baltimore would make great redeye candidates. Several years ago I took a redeye from Anchorage to Minneapolis and it worked out great. The downside to serving Anchorage is the extreme seasonality, but Southwest still serves Fort Myers despite it's extreme seasonality. Run flights to Anchorage in the summer and more flights to RSW in the winter.

Just follow the instructions in the first letter. If you were given instruction on how to contact the recruiter, just do as instructed.
Lots of SW hiring is up in the air at the moment. I suspect that escalated means paused, but that's just my opinion.

I'm surprised they let you take a pic of the border crossing. It sure does look like the entrance to a prison.
Since 2020 in response to a major federal court case, one can take photos and video in the public outside areas of the port as long it doesn't interfere with the port operations. The pathway leading to the turnstile area would be considered public as one can be in this area on the USA side but decide not to cross the border and turn around. Plus there are benches and drinking fountains along this pathway.
Still no photos/videos allowed within any car/pedestrian inspection areas or any non-public areas that are restricted to people crossing the border.

Thanks for the reply, that part I understood but when I looked up my application it's still on "In Process" status.
Just wondering if this is just a formality before they take it down or once the hold stops will I still be considered.
Thanks again.

Hi,
I think Yes, you can pack items like sleeping bags and tents inside a cooler as long as it is not used for food or liquids. Just ensure the cooler meets the airline size and weight restrictions for carry on or checked baggage.
Thanks

My family of 4 just got rescheduled to a MUCH LATER FLIGHT (12 hours later) because we were traveling with our small dog and there was someone allergic to dogs on our flight. We had called way in advance (back in March) to make her reservation for her in the flight and there was not an issue back then. Why was this other passanger not alerted that there was already a dog on this flight and be asked to schedule a different flight? What can assure her there wasn’t a pet in the previous flight? If there was, she will still be exposed to pet dander… Also we had check in on time and had achieved bording group A32 to A35, now we were placed in boarding group C12 to C15, this will have us seated all separetly… this is very frustrating.

Unfortunately, two months ago departing LAS I spoke to the gate agents and explained I need a front row seat. I recently had surgery and am in a full locked leg brace which I have no movement at my knee. I also use a mobility scooter. When it was time to board, 8 wheelchair users stood up from their wheelchairs and rushed down the jet way, while I was stuck behind them. The agent announced “ those in wheelchairs who can get themselves down the jet way, go ahead” . Unfortunately that put me in a position not having a front row seat and I safely boarding with my leg. So in a”perfect”world the disabled are often ignored. By the way the majority of these original 8 wheelchair users did not wait for a wheelchair to deplane. We all know that’s another topic.

Customers of size who have a second seat also get to pre-board. People on the outside never really know what is going on with each individual. I am also not sure that the amount of wheel chairs are going to go down as much as people think they are.

As noted, you can have a personal card and a business card. In fact, you can have both business cards in addition to one personal card. You may also want to consider closing your personal card and getting a new one as you can get a sign up bonus every 24 months. If you wait a bit and obtain a personal card and a business card at the end of the year or at beginning of next year you can easily obtain Companion Pass for all of 2025 and 2026.
