The airport's Twitter account says they are reopening tomorrow morning.
Perhaps it will take a few days to get everything running normally, but not months.

Funny—my kinda thread. In my experience/perception, the 800s do bump about more, relatively speaking. I presumed (on top of the presumption that is at all true) it’s because they are built of lighter materials.
The trade-off comfort-wise is they are much quieter, headrests, more exit rows/space etc etc

I notice for 700 aircraft’s it’s 35min turn (sometimes 30 in small cities like OKC, LBB) if they do an aircraft swap they allow 45min for the turn
with the 800 and MAX8 planes it is a 45min turn (sometimes 50-55min) when it is an aircraft swap they do an hour however it can always leave before that the system just does that hints why a flight might be showing delayed 1min

If it has a battery yes, but that seems like a long-shot due to the weight. I think Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is probably the more likely winner for aircraft.
Batteries would work but will need to weight a lot less.

As a side note, there is no reason the mandatory retirement age couldn't be extended to 67, which would relieve some of the pilot shortage issues. Sure, there would have to be some guidelines, like the pilot over 65 and under 67 would have to act in the capacity of co-pilot (right seat), though their responsibilities could include both PF and PM. And the captain would have to be at a younger age, say under 50. Both pilots are already required to pass an FAA Class I physical (which ensures that the over-65 pilots are still healthy). The transportation secretary's blanket refusal to consider this shows a lack of understanding of the aviation industry. I'm a Gulfstream ATP myself and I know many Airline Pilots between 65 and 67 who are in excellent health condition and would gladly continue flying under these conditions.

If you do ANY search between these two cities it shows that no flights are available from now until the end of the year! It's not an option at all to fly between Pittsburgh & Honolulu - either direction anymore. But specifically, I was looking for a one way trip to bring her home for summer on May 4 (Thurs). I'll have to use another airline to get her home. It looks like she would have to spend the night in Vegas and catch a morning flight home the next day. And it would be more money to do two separate legs. It didn't use to be this way so something changed with their flight schedule since last August. BUMMER!
It looks like you have to go through OGG - or have the layover there since it is a 7:30 a.m. departure.

If you have a different flight number connection, it isn't the same plane. If you have a one stop, no plane change, it's the same number for both segments and you don't need to deplane.

All aircraft have a maximum crosswind component (wind speed and number of degrees off the center line). Exceed that number and you are not authorized to attempt a landing. Taking off with a cross wind is not an issue. Most of the time wind is not 90 degrees off the center line, and even if it is the wind speed then has to be high enough to be a problem.
So, most jet aircraft can "handle" all but the most extreme crosswind components - even at single runway airports. Landings can get interesting, but that's why you have experienced pilots making big bucks.
Most landings are crosswind as most of the time wind is not coming directly down the center line.

paypal per transaction for 2 total? means 2 flight credits is 4 invalid?
Three flight credits is also okay if the total value of the flight credits is more than the cost of the desired tickets.
If the three flight credits aren't enough to cover it then you'd need a fourth option to top off the cost, but only three are allowed, so typically the third method might be PayPay, credit card, etc. some method to cover the remaining balance.
My best workaround here is to book one-ways, then you can use three different methods each way.

SW should be soon coming up with a straw replacement plan. After all, this is a way more important issue than upgrading old systems to prevent another travel meltdown.
In the meantime, for those who can't get through their day because someone may be using a plastic straw, suggest asking SW for the reusable straws that are available.

Agreed, definitely request it. My holiday flights were cancelled, and somehow during the process (because of steps I took) my companion's EBC was lost. I requested reimbursement, again, even though it was my fault for rebooking a flight myself instead of coordinating with a Southwest agent, and Southwest reimbursed the roundtrip EBC cost of $50.00.
Thank you Southwest for the reimbursement, even though it wasn't your fault.

Implement a fare hold while people are checking out. Give people 3-4 min to get their data inputted before you change fares. I'd rather race against a clock then been opaquely told there is an error when really you just changed the fare beneath me.
Southwest prices it's tickets in tiers; for example
60% at $X
20% at $x + $Y
20% at $x + $y + $z
When you are on line , Southwest tries to sell you the lowest AVAILABLE fare. Now you might not be the only person trying to buy that route on that flight on that date. If there is only one seat left at an available price, then that seat goes to the person who completes the purchase first. Then you get the next AVAILABLE higher fare. It's "you snooze, you lose" and sometimes you don't have to snooze very long.
When SWA calls customers back have an agent ready. Customers shouldn't have to wait for 35 min AFTER being called back for an agent to get on the line.
If that's what happened, I agree that is not acceptable.

If you are cancelling due to your worry that the current situation will carry into April, I would support giving you a full refund.
If you are concerned that an asteroid will crash into the earth on March 1, 2023 ending all life on the planet, I guess you could ask for a refund so that you could have the money for an enormous party before the fatal day.

Just to update in case it helps someone.
I called the 855-234-5234 number tonight instead of the 800 number and my wait time was only 44 minutes!! I was able to confirm that I would get a refund for the outgoing portion of our flight and keep the return flight. (Website was showing all day that the outgoing flight was still happening even though the flight was indeed cancelled) The new itinerary was sent to me and I was told that the refund would be processed within 5-7 business days.
The other good thing is that it turned out that the outgoing flights were the pricier of the flights and so, after the refund, the additional cost for our 3 nonstop flights out of DFW on American is only about $400 total which isn't too bad. And I do plan on submitting a request for reimbursement though from Southwest because that is a lot of money for us and not having the extra money is why we haven't had a family vacation in close to 10 years when my son was just a wee baby. I also feel blessed that we were able to get this handled from home since we were notified about 36 hours before our flight got cancelled. Thankful for the small blessings.

Are you asking about Florida? If so, yes to both. However, it rains and then within an hour, it is bright sunny and free of state income tax.
However, for those of you passing through, thanks for paying those taxes on hotels, rental cars and other items so that we don't have to pay any!
