@Indy1977TX wrote: I fly quite a bit so I know phones get left on for various reasons. I unknowingly do not turn my phone to airplane mode once a year or so. But I fly enough to earn my companion pass without getting points from a SWA credit card, hotels, car rentals, meals, etc. So, I fly regularly and I see this often enough to know that this is not isolated but yesterday was certainly one of the more brazen disregards for rules, curteousy, etc. I would really like a FA’s input. There are rules and knowing how important they are to the crew is really what I want to know. You won't get a FA's opinion here as this is a customer to customer forum. To get an official opinion from SW, click on contact us {below} and ask the question. Instance by instance, do they need to know about it? How soon? Etc. For example, when the guy took a call while we were taxing to take off, is it important enough to ring the call button and maybe stop the plane on the taxiway!? IMO, if it was an imminent safety hazard, yes, but per what you said earlier, you know that is not the case. Like you I have arrived at my destination. Pulled the phone out of my pocket to turn it on, and found that I never that turned it off. I suspect most phone owners have done that at least once. So I would say no.. Is it something to hold onto until it can be mentioned discreetly later in private (like the galley) to a FA or will they do nothing so let it go and do not worry. Again, IMO, that's what I would do. This phone situation is going to come up again so I want to know how deal with it then.

I have filed multiple police reports, TSA report, and reports with the airline. Nothing has been done. I would just like others to know that nothing will be done about items stolen from their checked luggage.

@rdurrell wrote: Dear Jess, I take it you do not have children. The Family Bank would be an optional enrolment. Also, enrollment would be contingent on suppling Brith Certificates, and ONLY for familes comprised of as least one (1) adult, WITH children UNDER THE AGE of 18. I'm sure, like most "entitlements" there are those on the other side who would try to take advantage of this program. Rather than share your negative thoughts, why not add positive constructive comments to help achieve this goal which would be a huge help to familes. Interesting - these details about needing birth certificates to apply and needing children under the age of 18 were left out of your original post. In your original post, you said that both of your sons have over 10K RR points each, so that must make them over 18. Unless you have other children, you would be disqualified from joining your own program! My thoughts aren't meant to be negative, but realistic. As @gsking mentioned, if you have enough RR points yourself, you can purchase tickets on behalf of someone else, and you can transfer RR points from one account to another as well. So if you wanted, your sons could transfer their points to you and then you could have one giant pool of your families points and redeem all your tickets from your account. So, in a way, what you are looking to do already exists, there are just a few other steps needed to implement it and have all of your families points under one account. --Jessica

@robbhicks wrote: The previous answers are correct. But after verifying your KTN and name are stored correctly, remember what a TSA agent told me -- an eligible Pre-Check individual is NEVER guaranteed to get TSA Pre-Check approval on any particular flight. Yes, that's is the standard line, PreCheck isn't guaranteed, but I think that's mostly a disclaimer to protect themselves when the system glitches or otherwise screws up. I'm not a big believer in the existence of a funky algorithm and all the other jazz, it's mostly just a check of a name and then have a nice day, assuming the system is working properly that day. Thankfully I've had very good luck, can't think of a single flight that I didn't get Pre over the last few years. --TheMiddleSeat

Hi @Dawna22! I can verify that you can opt to purchase EarlyBird for just the return flight since I just did it myself on a multi-Passenger reservation. As long as everyone is on the same reservation, you only need to check in once. If you purchased EarlyBird, check-in is automatic for each person you purchased EarlyBird for. We look forward to welcoming you and your family onboard!

Hmmm, I doubt many people are buying that BS fare just for the free drink. While I too have had drinks skipped on a recent flight due to unrealized turbulence, I agree more that safety and organization is more important. As much as I enjoy a free Coke Zero, it's only satisfying if it makes it into my stomach and doesn't end up on my jeans.

In this case that would be a non-existent passenger with the wrong last name. Source page: https://www.southwest.com/flight/travel-funds-search.html You're right! I didn't think that the travel funds were still in the original passenger's name. That's a no-go. --Jessica

I would have loved to hear their take. I've done a huge amount of reading on this subject, beginning right after the first crash, and I realize it's a very complicated situation, with multiple legitimate viewpoints. I'm staying abreast of developments and am cautiously optimistic MAX will return (to everyone's satisfaction) in 2020.

@byrdbrain591 More of like download reading material or movie to watch. Comedy should be of first choice. For instance: Jeff Foxworthy along with his comedy partners. It should be more of relaxing atomsphere whilist on flight. This is my best choice.

You should also know Southwest is discontinuing the senior fare as of December 11, 2019. As @dfwskier mentioned the Wanna Get Away fare is usually much cheaper so unless you absolutely need full refundability it doesn't make much sense to buy the senior fare if a Wanna Get Away fare is available. --TheMiddleSeat

I had to search through my tweets, as I normally tweet something when I get an especially good seat on a flight .... and I've had front row twice. While it's nice to be at the VERY front of the plane, I do find the lack of overhead bin space and the inability to have anything in front of your seat (because there are no seats in front of you lol) a drawback. It's still great to say you had "front row" on a Southwest flight ... as close to first class as you're going to get, lol. --Jessica

I don't think November will be a huge issue, it will be colder but that's about it. Weather can be a factor any time of year, but of course snow/ice in the winter months are harsher elements than just rain. --Jessica

@Shellbell_76377 wrote: From what I have dealt with it doesn't change anything to contact customer relations. I will also be canceling my southwest card and going with Delta. Southwest doesn't seem to be concerned with losing customers. SW doesn't lose any more customers than any other airline - probably less. A certain subgroup of passengers have it "up to here" and swear off an airline every year. I've done it. There are reasons SW flies more people in the lower 48 than anyone else (and has for years), as well as having the best customer satisfaction score of major airlines. Sorry to hear you are leaving..If / when you get tired of the various fees the others charge, feel free to return.

I believe in the days before the mandatory 24 cancelation window existed you could put a reservation on hold over the phone then complete the purchase later at the ticket counter, which would line up with what this customer was trying to do. That is no longer an option so much of the discussion is now irrelevant. Cash, and all other forms of payment, is accepted at the airport counter, but the purchase must be completed in one transaction/interaction. --TheMiddleSeat
