Also, when I saw the other comments, it was a bunch of knuckleheads arguing over something a flight attendent messing up a soda, which can happen with any airline.

Just wanna add that in situations like these, it's best to reach out directly to the airline or travel company you booked with. They typically have policies in place for such circumstances.

It is not really "family boarding". The process is like this:
When an individual under the age of seven (six and under) is on the flight, you can have UP TO TWO ADULTS board with that individual.
So, for family boarding to activate, you must have an individual under the age of seven.
Since you have two under the age of seven, up to two adults can board per individual under the age of seven.

Just seeing this, thanks for your response. I meant uncomfortably warm while sitting on the tarmac, not okay, but understandable, but then not cooling the plane off in flight - not acceptable. Yes, something they need to change overall. It was not just this flight. The return trip was unfortunately the same.

I have the same question. I receive a very specific number if “action based bonus” points of 3,624. This is in addition to the posting of points from my credit card statement that included individual bonuses on internet purchased, Rapid Rewards partner, Southwest Travel. The only thing I think it could be are the 25% bonus on all credit card purchases associated with A-List membership. But I can’t re-calculate the number of bonus points by applying 25% to any number I see on any statement.. But if this isn’t the 25% bonus, I don’t know what ir is.

Well, it's reasonable to believe that some spam domains are blocked. But my ISP is comcast.net, and so is my wife's. But since I don't get southwest email and she does, it can't be an issue of blocking a domain.
But maybe my e-mail address is being blocked? The last time I checked, it wasn't. But, if that's a possibility, then southwest should notify us that the sending failed due to spam blockage. OR, we should be told WHAT spam blocking website we should check to see if our e-mails are being blocked so that we can take some action to remedy the situation.

@KarlaTeer, Concerned about the length? The maximum size in inches per carryon is 10 x 16 x 24, so as long as the case fits within those dimensions, it should be fine. You may have to check it if it exceeds that size. Report back and let us know if it made it as a carryon.

@spratrat,. So sorry this happened. An after midnight trip from IAH to HOU will not be fun. The only good thing is less traffic on the road so hopefully less worry about not having the children in car seats. The fare from one airport to the other was about $65 via Uber about three years ago (and about $1 per minute). Plus I always found that catching an Uber or Lyft from IAH was more complicated than I liked, so Hobby was always my airport of choice. I hope the trek goes well and the children are sleeping. My child never got sleepy on a plane or in a hired car, no matter how early or late I traveled, so I know you cannot count on that. My heart goes out to you — it was always hard for me to grasp just how big Houston is in land area. I agree with you that it doesn’t seem like the two airports should be counted as being in the same city.

I empathize because I have learned the exact same lesson, except with a $50 voucher and an additional $200 purchase. I begrudgingly accepted it and never made the same mistake again. There are so many other good things about Southwest that this one “hrmmph” moment did not turn me off of the airline. Sorry that it happened to you. There are several posts on this forum that warn about it; however, I suspect that, like me, you may not have looked to see that it could happen until it did happen to you.

It is funny that nobody officially have responded from Southwest about what is going on with the "Wana Get away fares". Wanna get away seats and fares are limited. Keep checking back as seats could open up at any time. You can also check out the low fare calendar to see if any other dates/prices would work for you. Sometimes being flexible with your travel dates if your able to can save you a lot of money. - Blake

@Everyone..I've been flying for many years and have found there is no temperature that will please everyone. I've even found as I've aged that planes just seem to be colder? But even before that, it's always been protocol for me to just carry on with me a light jacket, that has pretty much solved the issue. And at times, saved me at my destination where I was unprepared for the drop in temperature while I was there.

A person can have a service dog that is trained in a specific task (like leading them if they are blind or sensing an oncoming seizure), but that doesn't mean they help with emotional issues such as severe anxiety.

This is always a touchy subject, as there are many people out there that love their pets as if they were children, and there are other people who have real mental health issues who truly need an emotional support animal to get by. The difficulty is trying to understand the difference between the two groups of people. Those who "love" their pets and insist they can control them and that they are loving and wouldn't hurt a fly (etc.) are the problem - they try to bring their animals on board an aircraft and the animals can't be controlled. They aren't real service animals and they should not be allowed to board in my view. We need better policies around what qualifies as an emotional support animal and when/how one can bring an animal on board, because apparently people are getting around current policy and bringing non-emotional support animals on board. --Jessica

@M3WAState wrote: I don't disagree that masks are important and I think you're missing my point. As I initially stated, we are compliant in our state. Quickly stopping at a grocery store for a couple of items with a masked child is do able. Masking the child when appropriate and required by our governor's guidelines, generally, isn't a problem. Traveling across the country on long flights is stressful for adult and children alike. The SW policy to kick parents and non-compliant two year olds off the plane is misguided and simply cruel. As parents, we are trying to do the right thing for our children while adhering to flight rules. A little more understanding of that by the airline and its passengers could go a long way. Cloth and surgical masks do NOT filter out viral particles. Please see my other posts in this discussion. The pores in these masks are simply too large to be able to properly filter out viral particles. If you're a parent, then PLEASE do not make your child wear a mask, not even "during a quick trip to the grocery store." You do care about their physical and mental development, don't you? Well, we all know that reduced oxygen saturation isn't good for anyone, but this is especially true for the young. Southwest is actually violating the Air Carrier Access Act by forcing customers to wear masks. All the scientific and medical literature show that wearing masks INCREASES the likelihood of infection. This is even true in the context of hospital operating rooms. I mean, you're free to wear a mask, but if you care about the health of your children, you would discourage them from doing so.

Not true. One of the most BAIT & SWITCH policies by any airline! This is ridiculous. I've been an A-List member for 15 years & A-List preferred for couple years with a companion pass for my kid for the last 4 years. I read this as simple English & then the Southwest gate handlers at Phoenix Airport gate D-7 embarrassed me by first feigning ignorance about the policy & then clarifying that "the companion needs to be on the same reservation #" which they know is impossible!! Wow! Funny thing is I fly all over the US & only Southwest Gate handers at Orlando & Phoenix enforce & are happy to rub it in your face. I've flown & had my kid board along with me in so many other Airports like San Diego, Austin, Raleigh-Durham, San Jose, LAX, Ontario-LA, Orange County etc & they never make any fuss of a 8-year old boarding with me. And now Southwest rubs it in my face again! Not nice at all. " ”We know getting more time with the people most important to you is everything. That's why we're spreading the love of one of our most-coveted A-List and A-List Preferred perks. Starting March 12, anyone on a reservation with an A-List or A-List Preferred Member can board when they do. That means everyone on the same reservation gets to board together and pick their seat earlier. Because we can all agree the more time you get with your people, the better.” B.S.!
