Of course the person you replied to, chgoflyer, six years ago was referring to emotional support animals -- that are no longer allowed.
Service dogs, which are highly trained beasts, are normally very well behaved.

not necessarily too large. many beach umbrellas, canopies, etc come in a carry bag that is quite compact. it would have to meet size requirements though. same for a duffel bag. some are pretty small.

From today's WGN TV Chicago news story about the $53 fare sale.
Well, I tried to upload the actual pic, but the system would not let me do so, so here's a link to the pic.

Edit add: the photographer must have used a VERY long lens for that pic.

Did anyone win anything?
We had 4 family members try for 7 days (28 spins) and didn't win a single point.
Is that suspicious or what! The statistical odds of NOT winning a single point must be astronomical. Does anyone believe they really awarded 25 million points?

When you're looking to redeem Rapid Rewards points for your children's flights on Southwest, you can usually book all flights under a single reservation to keep everyone together. This keeps things simple and stress-free, ensuring you all board together and sit close. It’s like keeping the harmony in a song, man. For different accounts or booking methods, though, you might need separate reservations, but they can often be linked to manage boarding sequences. Safe travels on your cosmic journey through the skies!

Thanks all. I’ve had Preferred since earning it last year, and it’s worked on previous journeys this year. I’m guessing it’s the issue that the reservation appears to have been unlinked from my profile when they fixed my TSA PreCheck problem — it doesn’t seem to be listed in the app or on the website for my RR account.
I ended up paying for the access, will ask for a refund.

1 Love
Just wanted to chime in here that the “remove the middle name” solution worked for me on a current trip. When we initially checked in for the outbound segment of our trip my wife got her PreCheck but I did not. The gate agent wasn’t able to get the issue resolved.
I opened a chat with TSA and they very quickly got back to me and indicated that my name was being incorrectly submitted for validation — what got submitted to them was “<first_name> <middle_name> <middle_name>”, and this clearly doesn’t work.
While traveling I called SWA and the rep instantly noted that my middle name needed to be removed from the ticket, that fixed the issue and my passes were issued with PreCheck status (it unfortunately didn’t help as my origin was international and MCO doesn’t have pre-check for connecting flights, but the tickets seemed valid).
Shout out to Brent at SWA for so quickly recognizing the issue.
This clearly seems like a bug in the reservation system and needs to be addressed.

Typically it's just wait and see what happens. The airline deal with over 100,000 found items every year. It just does not have the capacity to provide personal service with those kinds of numbers.
Just make sure your lost item report includes every possible detail (serial number?) to help make it easier to identify your item.

Thanks. That would be a nice feature to add in the future. Being able to combine travelers within the same group under one Confirmation Number would help manage travel and would help travelers check-in and sit together more easily.

I am so sorry to hear of your experience.
An experienced traveller would have known to search for any specific restrictions on flying to any international destination.. As young teacher, you might not have known to search for those restrictions.
I am disappointed the gate agent or ticket counter person on your flight to Costa Rica did not ask if you have a return ticket.
I have to admit I searched the Southwest website hard to find a notification to travellers about restrictions and found nada. That was disappointing. I did find the rules, but they were not on the Southwest site.
My only suggestion would be to complain directly to Southwest. To do so click on "contact Us" below and proceed.
I wish you luck and may your future travels be problem free.

Odd, as an A-List Preferred frequent flyer, there is the A-list 800# which is is quick and easy. Whenever I have to speak with some one, a person is on the phone almost immediately or with zero hold time.
If you call the standard 800# I can't even imagine how frustrating that would be.
Are you utilizing this benefit for Southwest frequent flyers?

This is frustrated that I have paid attention to the airport (SNA), Santa Ana or Orange County of California, has been always on excluded on promotion for more than 6 months. I have no idea why SNA is discriminated and not ever in the promotion list. SNA is a popular destination for Disneyland and else and it is not like isolated place. I am a 1.5M miles Rapid Reward flyer and I fly at least every other week. If SNA is always excluded from flight promotion, SWA will be losing customers like business travelers, family in vacation and SWA customer.
Hola! I understand the frustration but this appears to be beyond SW's control; thus I have never been able to utilize SNA being a frequent flyer out of SoCal. The pic above is from one of my short-haul flights from Northern Cal passing by SNA making its initial descent into SAN.
The strange fact is this: I would consider SNA as a potential 'convenience' airport if I didn't want to head to SAN but like you, I've never been able to get deals or good pricing at SNA. My reason for all this is kind of speculative but my opinion is based on this key fact:
SNA has operated since 1985 under a legal settlement with OC, Newport Beach and a few organizations: https://www.ocair.com/about/administration/settlement-agreement/
Long story short, this legal settlement includes an annual passenger cap which unfortunately creates a situation where airlines cannot expand supply or add flights to meet growing demand which leads to higher prices. If SW were to include SNA in a sale, my prediction is that would result in my opinion a surge in demand growth that would create a situation where far too many passengers would be fed into SNA which would violate the cap restrictions on the settlement, thus a huge no-no.
Given that OC is a high-demand market thanks to Disney and other major destinations, I believe Southwest is in a position where it cannot run promos that would bring additional passenger traffic through SNA.
Hope this info helps and I do agree and hope something gets done to resolve all these legal hurdles so the market economy can be free to efficiently drive the airport operations and SNA can better compete and grow. Thankfully, there are competing alternative convenience airports not too far away including LGB and ONT which kind of helps keep prices somewhat in check for SNA but the passenger cap I believe is the key driver of why SNA gets excluded from SW sales.

I have both of the SW business credit cards that come with the perk of up to $500 in credits for points transfers on each card per year for a total potential credit of $1k. Last year, I used it to transfer a portion of my points to my daughter and son in law's account to help them get away for their honeymoon. I'm thinking of referring my wife for the SW personal CC while the bonus is at 85k points. Will I qualify for the business CC points transfer credit if I use my card to transfer Her new points into my RR account? The reason is that I would prefer to use my A-List Preferred status when booking our travel.
But agreed - giving your kids a “no questions asked” transfer is different than your wife’s account you can just book tickets from her points for anyone including yourself and the passenger’s status will still apply.

Correct, as long as you cancel within the 24 hours it does not matter which fare you purchased. After 24 hours your wanna get away fare is only refundable to a travel credit.

Hello,
I booked a flight and paid using a voucher, and the balance by credit card. So far I'm in the <24 hr period.
I would like to know the answers (if they differ) for before and after the 24hr period:
If I cancel this flight (not re-book/re-schedule) -->
1. do i get the Voucher value back as travel funds?
YES
2. if voucher value is given as travel funds, and since now travels funds don't have expiration date anymore, would this value have no expiration date, or will this travel fund be a special case and still carry the original expiration date of the voucher?
Alll travel funds have no expiration date.
3. (If I cancel before the 24hrs, do I get the voucher as travel funds but the CC amount back to CC?)
YES edit add: but you do have to pick that option when you cancel the ticket
thank you
