@Mauibound My thought on this is when you went to talk to your son and pull your mask down, pop a snack in your mouth or take a drink, case closed, half this discussion is eliminated. Food for thought.

@imyourmommynow wrote: Any suggestions on how you got your child to at least try it? My daughter won’t even let me get one ear strap on before ripping it off lol We definitely had one advantage, he was starting to have the mask when he was one and a half but only in short times and with supervision, so by the time he was two it was hanging on a hook by the door and he knows grabbing the mask means going outside so we can't keep him away from it. Consistency I think was key, he always had to wear it to leave our apartment, so he got used to it fairly quickly.

It take about 3 seconds reading that to realize that there will be no exemptions. For instance, the flight must be less than 50% full at the time of departure. My flights in the past month or so have been 90% or more full.

Yeah looks like Vegas is coming back. I was there is March and it was packed. I'm noticing other airports are picking up with customers as well.

My biggest problem with EVERY OTHER AIRLINE? Having to pay exorbitant fees to put a bag in the baggage hold, then watching idiots fight for bin space with bags that are too big. Want to bring home a $20 bottle of special wine or spirits? Oops, it just cost you $30 to check that bag. That bottle isn't cheap anymore. Tell me again why you care where you sit?

@AndSoItGoes Your info is fine for historical purposes, but does no good predicting current or future flights. Southwest is not like the legacy carriers that only use certain aircraft on certain routes. At the time of writing this, WN8521 on a Max 8 is enroute from DAL to SKF and also WN8505 PAE to PHX, neither of those are on your list. You'll also see that Southwest is no longer using only 6000 series flight numbers for Max 8 flights. The only way to check to see if your flight is on a Max 8 is the info noted above with the noted caveat that aircraft changes can occur and any time. --TheMiddleSeat

Thank you everyone for your insight. I will continue using the desktop version. I am not planning to travel any where any time soon so I would be registering for the A-list promo just because it was offered; however, I would be wasting the opportunity.

@dfwskier wrote: That ain't going to happen. Southwest knows that assigned seating means boarding takes longer, which impacts the ability to turn aircraft quickly, which affects profitability and ultimately ticket prices. SW has 50 years of experience on what boarding process works best. Besides different people views "prime" seats differently. What might be "prime" to you might not be to someone else. Besides the Southwest method of having lots of short haul connecting flights there would be many flights with people already on them that may or may not have taken the seat that was desired.

Math. It's not for everyone. 😉 And purchasing points isn't always a "rip off". I've purchased points a couple of times when I've only needed a small amount to pay for a flight with points. For me, it's been worth it! --Jessica

I for one am not a dancer so I would be more likely to cheer for them as left if anything. For Lindy Hop maybe in the rear galley. Could possibly “Do the Hustle” in the exit row and aisle or the bulkhead row since it is a slot dance where the follower goes back and forth in a line. Ironically no aerials in either case or the partner might end up in an overhead bin! All aerials solely provided by the 737 dance floor.

No, you do not need proof of a negative COVID test to fly domestically within the United States. There are a few caveats by state, like Hawaii or New York or Illinois (Chicago), which Southwest notes here: https://www.southwest.com/coronavirus/ Denver and Detroit are no problem. --Jessica

I find it hard to believe that an airline's rewards program could cause you "horrendous" personal problems, but I digress... the worst thing that could possibly happen is that your points got stolen. What's worse than that? But even then, I am not sure how that would cause you personal problems. It would just be an incredible inconvenience. --Jessica

@Firebiscuit wrote: Several of the passengers waiting until they removed the remains of a fallen service member from the plane and I sat it down in a seat. Seems like an odd thing to mention. Are you saying there was a dead passenger's remains on your flight? Like an urn? 😲 Anyway, filing a claim was the right thing to do. I am sure Southwest deals with lots of "forgotten" items every single day. It might take a few days or weeks for them to reunite your iPad with you. --Jessica

It's been awhile since I've used Southwest Vacations to book a trip, but if you are saying you have enough travel funds to cover the entirety of your trip, you should not need to enter a credit card. If you have some travel funds to use but not enough to cover the whole trip, you should be able to enter both your travel funds and a credit card to cover the remaining balance. --Jessica

Are the rapid tests not as accurate as the swab tests that take day(s) to get results? Genuine question. I'm not really sure what the difference is between the two as far as what kind of test it is. --Jessica

This tends to happen often - for many promotions, in order to actually get the offer you need to do XYZ in a certain amount of time. For example, spend $3,000 in 3 months. If you don't do this, you won't get the bonus points. Many people unfortunately do not realize the terms of the offer and don't meet them, and they don't get the points. Always read the fine print! Multiple times! That way you know what you are signing up for and know what you have to do to get the offer. --Jessica

I book hotels almost exclusively through Southwest so I can get the RR points - I've gotten as much as 8,000 points for a 3 night stay once! In my experience it can take up to 8 weeks for them to post, and there aren't really any workarounds for that except for waiting for them to post to your account. --Jessica

Unfortunately, flights are changing constantly due to the ongoing pandemic and flight demands. It isn't just Hawaii, but flights all over the Southwest route map. Most of the time you should get an e-mail regarding any flight changes Southwest makes, but there are times this doesn't happen so it's recommended to keep an eye on your flights well in advance of your takeoff in case any changes arise. If they do, you should be able to make changes free of charge for a period of time, and if you have trouble, Southwest should be able to assist you in making changes. Contacting them via Social Media (not phone) is best, as they are often quicker to respond. --Jessica

We have not gotten it yet, and we may not get it due to health reasons. We have not had the Covid either. Will we lose our money if the rules change by July when we want to travel if we purchase tickets now, and by July vaccines are required? We have saved a lot of years for this vacation, and can't afford to lose the money if rules change. Does anyone have any answers to my questions? thanks There's been no indication from the federal government that proof of vaccine will be required to travel domestically, but you are asking for someone to look in a crystal ball and predict the future. International is a different story and some other countries have indicated vaccines could be required. --TheMiddleSeat

Exactly!! Just because you have a cold doesn’t mean you should be kicked off the plane. That’s ridiculous!! If masks work and everyone has to wear them then embrace it. The common cold, flu , allergies and mucus still exist . Like they always have. If ya have a serious fear of getting COVID-19 then why aren’t you in quarantine? Just saying
