I've been an A-Lister for about 7 years and did also use to get the card. I know it is a to each their own, but I never carried the card with me, and was never asked for it. Much like was mentioned, attendant would look at the next in line and ask, "are you AList or business preferred? I don't think I've ever seen anyone say no, nor have I ever seen somebody moved out of the line for not being one. But honestly, I guess it comes down to who the ticket attendant is, some may enforce it, some may not. What I may mention, this is as recently as 2 weekends ago, in SWA home hub, there was no ALIST line anywhere, and I was even more amazed to see there was no TSA bypass there either.

@Manley13 You pretty much have gotten a wide range of replies, all on point. I will just confirm it's not a scam, it's just, as noted in these posts, not an instant process. I've gotten my points in less than a week, and I've waited up to 10 weeks before the points were posted. 20,000 for 800 bucks sounds about right. I normally do pay the extra 30 bucks for an additional 2K points and for around $200 am getting around 4,500 points. I'm hoping that you were staying at least a week to pay that much for a room. 🙂 I love this offer by Booking.com as I have already an estimated 40,000 points in hotel points alone towards my companion pass, which helps since they raised it to 125,000 this year.

I had no idea that this was even possible? So are you stating that someone could request a gate pass, which gets them through security (TSA) and are able to accompany them to the gate?

To answer your question, it's not ok. I've had gate changes and always seemed to get informed early. But from reading other posts and hearing stories like yours, my wife and I have gone to the, "expect it to happen mode." So as soon as we get to the gate, we check what the sign says at the ticket counter, does it show our city of destination. And although annoying, I still ask the clerk, "Is this the gate for FLT XXX to XXX? It just gives me peace of mind. And as always, if it's a connecting flight, we always go right to the board as soon as we get off to see if there is any change. I hope this helps with any future flights on SWA.

I agree with the previous comments, Kansas City (MCI) isn't tricky at all, and if you get let off right in front of the check-in area, it's just in the door and go. If you're not checking bags, get let off right at the door with TSA. I've done this airport all the time at an hour before take-off and still had to sit and wait.

I live in NM and have seen on at least 5 news outlets about the issues, SWA and others had over the weekend, and much of that was due to the weather, but other issues as well. I'm not fully aware that is wasn't any hoax that that airline brought up to cover anything up. Since you only posted this 12 hours ago, I'm only going to assume you don't have access to television. Honestly, I'm sorry that you had to experience this, (and the thousands of others) as it's not fun at all to be stranded at an airport (been there/St. Louis) and having plans changed. As for your other issues, I can't help on that end.

@bec102896 That is so kind of you to pull that up for me. In looking at that list, gosh, I could spend hours (I'm slow) for several days learning them. Kudos to you for only missing a couple. However,
Is grandson Ready? Yes, papa. OK, I'll type while you time. Time:
Albuquerque 1.65 seconds
Good job grandson. Ready again? Yes, papa. Time.
ABQ 1.15 seconds.
Thanks, bub, now go do something more useful with your time. Ok, papa.

Although I know that it won't change anything by posting in this forum, also Lexington would be nice. I'm sure multiple cities have been mentioned to SWA through the proper channels, and I'm sure they are doing their research to see if it make good business sense to add, or delete, any city.

@smoreho3 @mrsstats @TobyLibby This was posted 13 hours ago and the poster mentioned they flew in 7 hours, so this is after the fact posting. I was/am going to suggest that you may just go a bit early and show all your information to the ticket counter and they hopefully can make some type of adjustment for you. I don't know how that works after boarding numbers have been assigned, but maybe you could have requested a pre-boarding pass for the mix-up. I'm curious to know how this came out, can you give us an update please. Thanks.

@supersteak Not only what is previously mentioned, (you and a companion can't be on different flights) when you go to make the change of the original flight, but it won't even process it and will give an error code, "A companion is connected to this flight" and you can't make any changes to your flight until you actually cancel the companion first. I've had to do that so many times even when I wanted to make the change for both of us. I've learned it's easier to make the changes by actually calling SWA agents to have to move us both at the same time.

@Niceguy You have two good responses on the issue, take those into consideration. I might add this, maybe put a small lock on it. Although TSA does reserve the right to break the lock off should they so choose, it may deter for some period of time. I often see bags come onto the carousel after a flight that has locks on them, so they made it through TSA without being snipped off and the contents appear to have remained safe.

@TheMiddleSeat Guilty as charged. Once I thought of giving credit I had already posted it, but I can correct that error. My apologies if I offended you.
And you would be correct again, I don't like airport codes, hence why I could only copy and paste because I have no idea what city or airports the codes belong to for me to substitute the name of the city with.

The inter-island increases are interesting, but it looks like some pretty big cuts on mainland flying:
LIH-OGG NEW 1/day HNL-OGG 6 to 11/day HNL-LIH 4 to 6 HNL-KOA 4 to 6 HNL-ITO 4 to 5 KOA-OGG no change (1/day)
*SAN-KOA/LIH/OGG remain out of the schedule *LAX/PHX-KOA/LIH and LGB/SMF-OGG are gone for Fall *LAX-HNL/OGG reduced to 1x *Looks like some Bay Area freq decreases as well

Nodda, this is why I continue to encourage folks to periodically go in and check their SWA account and other information even if they aren't scheduled to fly soon. I'm guessing I see this exact same post about credits expiring and can't use them 20 times a year in this forum.

We are currently accepting air reservations through September 5, 2022. On March 30, 2022 we will open our schedule for sale through November 5, 2022
I'd like for those of you who seem to notice this much better than I do to post anything significant that you see on the new fall schedule. I'm sure this would be appreciated by many of us following this forum.

@Mattspiral8 correct. So just to get ahead of the thought. The A list points earned are also, ONLY FOR, the fact it shows what you have accumulated towards A-List, not points you have to use.

LOL, my first thought when I read the title, "REALLY," is your post. But you have the right to post it. Much like I've seen changes in the IPA they offered when I got used to a very good one, it happens, and SWA reserves the right to what they want to offer. But I've yet to post on a discussion forum, nor contact SWA. I'm going to say, I appreciate your palate choice, but in life there are changes even if we don't like them. My suggestion, go to a bar prior to boarding and drink all the BM's you desire, hopefully that helps.

@sandybeachs1981 To each their own, but you said you were told, (however it was, polite, rude, aggressive) in my mind that is irrelevant, I (and I hope the majority of people) would have turned around and taken it back and been on the phone with SWA what had "honest mistake" happened, and about when you ETA would be, no matter what time of the night it was.
Segway into your comment, SWA didn't take into consideration......well maybe you weren't either by not wanting to get the valuables and maybe needed content of the person's bag you mistakenly took. (Meds, extra money, etc.) You then were appalled by being asked to return them. (I'm not going to address at all the demeanor of how anyone addressed each other) Also, maybe that is the protocol, if someone doesn't want to return somebody else property immediately, the police are called.
I can only bet you are honest at heart, but you wanted a more favorable solution to your benefit that didn't happen. I can't say your post has gone for not, I will forever going forward double-take the name on the bag before I pick it up...oh, and which is why I have the most outrageous bag already that there really isn't another like it.

@shadiakhavan I don't know for sure but I don't think the FA are obligated to contact you, they are obligated to get it to the airport you landed at's security or lost and found. Now is everyone in that department honest?? I think it might depend on what you have in your purse. Just a reminder, Aiport lost and found and Security is often not associated with SWA.
Let me tell you about my experience, I left an IPAD (a very expensive one) on a flight in the seat. I didn't even know that I had, but as we were at baggage claim an announcement was made, "An IPAD was left in the seat on SWA FLT (whatever it was) from (wherever it was). To claim please see the attendant and the SWA lost baggage claim. I checked my bag and yep it was mine. I gave a description and the password to unlock it and she gave it to me.
So, I'm not sure why, (if it was found by a FA) that this didn't go the same route. I often hear in the airport, Passenger so and so go back to Gate (whatever it was you landed at) to retrieve a lost item)

I'm just going to say I've had lost SWA baggage multiple times before and have never encountered this issue. Nor has anyone I know who had their luggage lost. I'm sure the whole story ties it all neatly together, but after the start of the 3rd paragraph, I went to the last sentence. (Way too long for me, sorry) I've always found whomever I was in contact with at their most diligent service to get me my lost bags, and always have. They inform me of the scan thingy on each bag and they can track did it get on a plane, and did it get off a plane. It also has told me that it went on the wrong plane and we followed it every step of the way. I didn't even lose a bag and have always been compensated. I only say this because my wife is an attorny, you are entitled to all those records you say you are not, now you're informed. Sorry to hear of your issue, I hope it gets resolved.

I've learned to NEVER SAY NEVER. But you've been provided with data on the "unlikelihood" of that happening. The crash recently is tragic, and I'm sure that as soon as it happened that all pilots and airlines went into, "let's get serious again mode," and are checking planes left and right. I flew this past Sunday where we were delayed for over 1 and 1/2 hours be fix a malfunction of a door. Let's just hope these inspections contiune. Flying is still safer than driving.

@bearkissjim I agree, it should show up sooner than later. HOWEVER, I wouldn't wait to book your flight, BOOK IT NOW, and then add your companion to get the best price or time. I always used to wait on if my companion was going or not, (more times not) and missed out on a better flight or price. Once you add that person as your companion, go in and add her to the flight. You will have different reservation numbers, but you will have the flight you wanted and hopefully at the price you wanted.

I'm trying to understand your situation, (even though I can't help) I've had my bag not show u and then gone to the person on duty at the site I landed. They clicked on my checked bag stub and knew exactly where it was, and when it would probably arrive. (Their mistake and I got a voucher) But they knew where it was. Did you not show your checked bag stub to someone for them to scan? I do hope you find your bag, just be prepared for the fact that not everybody is honest and turned it in.
